Hey, what's up guys welcome back to SL poem today, we're going to really find out is the Pixel 4a faster than the pixel 2 XL. So this is not a speed test, we're just looking at raw CPU and GPU performance, so we're using geek bench 5 and let me show you the benchmarks, so before we get into that, we have to look at the specs, so both of them have eight cores, so the Pixel 4a has cluster one with six cores lower clocked, so 1.8 gigahertz and cluster 2 has a faster clock, but with only two cores and the pixel 2 XL has four cores on each cluster, so eight quarters total and all of them are clocked higher than the Pixel 4a. So, theoretically, you should have faster performance on the pixel 2 XL, but that's just theoretical. Let's go ahead and look at the actual numbers. So, as you can see, Pixel 4a is faster than pixel 2 XL by at least 100 points, so they are pretty close, but the Pixel 4a technically has much faster raw CPU power, and so I don't know what you think about that. But to me, it's very interesting, and I guess it takes three years for a budget phone to have the same performance as a flagship device, and so let's go ahead and check the uh GPU benchmarks.
So here we have it. This is the GPU and on the left we got the arena 618 a budget GPU, and we got the flagship arena 640 on the pixel, 2, XL and yeah. I can't believe the Pixel 4a is faster. I was actually surprised, and so I guess it takes a little under three years to surpass the performance of a flagship phone, and this is actually considerably faster. That's about 300 points, and I don't really see this translating into games.
So I'm not really sure why maybe the maybe the Pixel 4a still has a little of ultimate optimization to do. But that's all for today hope you guys enjoyed the video make sure you guys subscribe for more videos on the Pixel 4a and to excel, and I'll see you guys later. Peace.
