iPhone SE 2020 vs Samsung Galaxy A51 By Nick Ackerman

So, what is up guys Nick here, helping you to master your technology? Galaxy a51, the iPhone SE 2020, which is gonna, be the better phone to choose here now. I'll begin right away by talking about the design and for me, I think the 51 is the more modern looking phone for the same money, so I would give the edge to the galaxy a 51 when it comes to just the looks of the device. I think it's a little more attractive, looking than the iPhone SE, which is an aged looking design. But when it comes to the actual body and durability, the iPhone SE feels a little more premium as it is. A glass build the 51 which is plastic, it does pick up a lot of dust, and it just doesn't feel quite as premium as sturdy as the iPhone SE. With this aluminum size, it does have the glass back in front.

It just feels a little more I would say just a little higher quality than the 51, but the 51 for a plastic Samsung phone has come a long way. This is not the plastic Samsung phones of the past. This is more like a glass stick feel like a mix between glass and plastic, but the iPhone SE still feels a little more premium. Now when it comes to display the iPhone, SE definitely gets pretty bright, 625 nits, it does have haptic press. It does have true tone.

Night shift dark mode. The device doesn't have a very popping display, though it's just pretty much what you expect an LCD panel, pretty accurate, colors and I. Think overall you'll be happy with the display, but it's going to be nothing impressive. It just looks pretty good and just typical retina Apple quality. You just know what you're going to get here if you've had an iPhone before but other than that I do think it's a pretty nice display for the price you're paying here.

You're not gonna, be disappointed with this Retina panel, but the galaxy 51 does have that popping display. This is a Super AMOLED panel here. So if we go to settings here, we'll go to display, you can switch it between vivid and natural, and it's just a much more vibrant display. You're really going to pay for the display with the 51 it's giving you a flat display as well no curve going on here. So that's a nice touch as well.

You do have gestures as well as the home button. I just put the home button because we are dealing with you know home button. I phone in this comparison, but I have to, say if you're going to buy the fifty-one. One of the main reasons you would pick this over the iPhone SE is just a display, you're getting so much more display for your money and a higher quality panel. So this is the real selling point for me of this device and of course, dark mode will look great because you know OLED displays have really nice colors when it comes to the dark contrast with the black screens.

It just looks perfect, so a51 definitely for the display, but the iPhone SE strikes back in performance. There's no question about it. This phone is just faster than the 51 all day. This is more flagship grade performance. This is right up there with the 11pro, the 11 Pro max.

You see many of my speed tests already and if you haven't check them out, but I mean the benchmarks are crazy on this phone, it does have only 3 gigs of RAM, but it's the a13 CPU in here. It's the chipset in here that makes this a boss performer. So if you're looking for top-notch performance between these two, you want to have very fast phone overall, you don't want the 51 you're going to want this one right here, and it's not that the 51 is some slow, crappy phone. It's actually pretty quick, it's just not as smooth it's kind of choppy, sometimes so you'll notice a little chop when going in between applications. The animations just don't look as smooth as like a flagship grade Samsung.

But of course this is an A Series. This is not a flagship grade and if you want better, more reliable performance, I would recommend up into the 71 that one performs better than this one. This will do fine for the money. I think you'll be ok with it, but you're going to run into some stutters here. Some hangs here and there, and you're going to be like well come on 851.

Let's go. Let's get this thing done, but if you have patience, you'll be fine here on the 51, it's just not as fast as the iPhone SE. Now when it comes to their software I'm, calling it a tie because it really just comes down to your preference I. Think if you like a lot of features, you'll really love the 51. It does have a lot of features going for it here, but the iPhone SE is no slouch either in the features.

There's a lot of features here for the SE as well, but it's just Samsung has always been crushing it with giving you pretty much a lot of feet for the money, and it's no different here. You even get motions in gestures. You do get one-handed modes here. Furthermore, you do have reach ability here for the iPhone SE and the camera is upgraded for this phone. But it's iOS, as you know, we're a Samsung.

We'll probably give you a couple more features with a couple: more updates for this device, so yeah I think if you're going for feature software go for the galaxy 51 if you're going for a minimal clean software with a lot of updates for a long time, you'll want the iPhone SE, but it really just comes down to Android versus iOS here, so I'm calling it a draw because it's really down to preference, but the software is smoother on the iPhone SE versus the one UI on a VA 51. But Samsung has come a long way, and this is a far cry away from Touch ID days now for storage I can't give either one of them a true win. Both of them can get up to 128 gigs, but you can go 256 maximum on the iPhone SE, whereas this one, you can expand the memory. So if you want expandable memory, the 51 wins out, I think if you want fast phone memory, I think the iPhone storage is a little more. It just optimized better to not use as much space when you're using that storage, and also it's a little quicker storage.

So you kind of got to choose between those two, but expandability makes the galaxy a 51 a little more storage available. Now for the cameras. The big deal here is: there's a single camera on here for the iPhone SE pretty much like the iPhone eights, but it does have smart HDR, and it does shoot amazing, 4k 60p video. So if we go into the camera, you'll see right there we can hold down for videos swipe it over to hold it, and you can take pictures in video. Also, you do have 4k.60 can be changed right from the camera itself. It does have those iPhone 11 like features here, so you basically got iPhone 11 type technology in your iPhone SE right here, I think, if you're going for a better rear-facing camera, you're going to want to get the iPhone SE it's the better pic now.

The port remote here is also quite good, but it only uses human detection for that. You do have panel mode overall, I have to say that if you want the better rear camera, you'll want to go with the iPhone SE, it's going to give you better video quality and just gonna. Give you a better overall experience when you take video and just taking quick photos post on social media like that, okay, so talking about the rear sensor of the 51, though don't write it off, though this is a four camera system on the back. You do have a 48 megapixel main it does have an ultra-wide camera as well as two other cameras, a 5 megapixel macro and a 5 megapixel depth sensor for portrait. Photography, however, I think photo.

Quality is not the best compared to other Samsung phones. It still has some pretty beautiful photos when you're out and about, and you get the ultra-wide for the same price. You don't get an ultra-wide on the SE, so this can be very enticing for those of you who don't want to pay the big bucks, but you do want the ultra-wide Cameron. If you do want the night mode, you have to go with the 51. So and while I think the SE has the better overall main sensor, I, don't think that the 51 is a bad camera.

I think many. You will be happy with general results from this camera. You can also change between the 16 by 9. Here you can change between the one. The one aspect, if we go over here to settings, you'll also notice that there's no 4k 60 on here, just regular 4k, which is not a bad thing, but you get 4k 60 on the iPhone, so the video quality will be better for the iPhone.

Now I'll say the front. Video is a bit better on the 51. It goes 4k and also the front camera is a higher resolution, so it also I think, has a better front-facing camera, especially if you care about softer looking photos. You don't want that detail in your face, but the iPhone SE didn't really upgrade too much on that front-facing camera, seven megapixels, so I think if you want a better selfie I would probably go with the 51. But if you want a better main sensor, the iPhone SE will be where it's at, but get this one.

If you just want to have fun with your camera, if you want to feel like you didn't pay much, but you got all those features like you would usually get on: $1000, Samsung or even $1000 iPhone, even though you're going to suffer a little in the quality, you'll still love how much fun you can have with this system so for general quality and results go with the iPhone. If you want fun, and you don't care about having the highest quality video highest quality photos, you like saturated photos, you like wide-angle, you want to use night mode. You want to use all those nice features, go with the Samsung you'll be happier when it comes to audio. The iPhone. Se does have dual stereo speakers, which is nice.

The a51 doesn't have that, but there's no headphone jack and now the a51 does have a loudspeaker right here and it also as a headphone jack right there. So the headphone jack could be the dealbreaker of the SE. If you're, comparing these two but again only a single loudspeaker, and it doesn't sound quite as loud as the SE, so we're down to you, do you want a headphone jack? Or do you want better external speakers? If you want better external speakers, you'll have to pass on this one, but if you want a headphone jack, there's no other choice between these two, but the 51 I quickly just wanted to talk about the iPhone SE s fingerprint scanner touch. I'd is extremely fast and reliable and that's pretty secure -. You know it works with applications.

I think you'll love this. You know iPhone SC's, fingerprint sensor. It definitely feels super easy to use, and just it's just joy to use touch ID once again even face ID would fail more than touch ID, so definitely nice. Here now the galaxy 51 does have a face unlock system which is not secure whatsoever just using that camera up there. But if you use the in display fingerprint sensor, you have a similar feeling to touch ID, however, being in display I think it's kind of cooler technology, but it misses more often I.

Think than the iPhone SE, but it's still pretty nice that you have fingerprint sensor in display here, I just don't find it as reliable as even Samsung's higher-end Galaxy phones. It just misses a little more on this galaxy 51, but it's not bad. So it's really down to do. You want a physical button or do you want to in display button? The 51 has a much larger battery than the iPhone SE. This one has an 18 21.

This one is a four thousand William hour battery, and if you go up here into power modes, it also does have medium and maximum power saving modes. You just have low power mode here for the SE. Now the SE gets around five to six hours, screen time and general use. If you're really hard on it's about four hours. This one right here gets similar around six hours.

If you're light on it, though I'm getting around seven eight hours on the a51, so I think the a51 has a little better battery life, but the iPhone I see again at iOS. It has better standby than the Samsung. It also charges faster with 18 watts, but you have to buy that charger separately. This one has a 15 watt charger, and it does charge pretty quick as well. The SE has wireless charging.

This one doesn't also. The SE has IP 67 resistance. This has no IP rating when it comes to their phone call, quality, I have to say that both of these do have pretty good phone call. Quality I was not disappointed with either so. If you're going to be making phone calls, I think you'll be happy on either device, so is it going to be the iPhone SE as a pick here or the Samsung a51, the SE? Definitely in the a51 are in a similar price category.

However, if you jump up to the 256 gig now you're getting in the territory of s10 es10 on the SE or a 71 which gives you even better stuff than a 51, so I think, while the 51 is a great value, I think the SE wins out in more areas here, at least for this money. So personally, I probably would pick the SE of these two but I. Think, if you really don't care about Apple, you don't want an OS and you want more features I think day.51 is definitely a compelling option to get over this device. Let's not forget resale value, though this is not going to resell for much the 51. This will hold its value a little longer than this device, so that's it between the 51 and the iPhone SE.

Both these phones, I think, will make the customer happy.
