iPhone 8 Plus - FULL REVIEW

Okay so a few days ago, I've done an in-depth review of the iPhone 8, but Apple has also launched an iPhone, 8 plus and then there's also the iPhone 10. That's coming out in November, so definitely subscribe. Anthony multi vacations. If you want to see my coverage of the iPhone 10 as soon as it's out, but in this video I'll be focusing solely on the iPhone 8 plus, so everything when it comes to the display. The camera performance, improvements, new features, battery life and everything you need to know about. The iPhone 8 plus is covered in this video.

So I hope that you all got that popcorn ready to go and enjoy my in the review of the iPhone 8 plus. So there you go new intro and new zone of tech logo. Let me know in the comments what you guys think about its new intro and logo. Do you think it's better than the previous one? Do you think it's worse if you guys liked it I'll be using them the intro and the logo in future videos as well by the way, speaking of this new logo and the new intro shout out to Skill share for sponsoring today's video, so they actually have a ton of courses on your website raining from video editing courses to web, designing courses, business courses, cooking courses and even yes, logo? Designing courses like, for example, this one from Ray Lombroso, actually found this one to be very useful when it came to coming up with a new logo and the new intro design. So Skill share gives you limited access to over 17,000 courses, and the best part about Skill share is that you don't need to pay for each individual course.

Instead, you just get a membership, and that gives you full access to all 17,000 plus courses on Skill share com use the link in the description to check it out and by the way, the first 100 people to do so gets two full months of free, unlimited access to the entire Skill share library of courses, pretty cool huh, ok, so starting off with the design. Looking at it from the front, the iPhone 8 plus looks identical to the iPhone 7 plus, which looked identical to the iPhone 6s plus and the iPhone 6, plus from back in 2014 and speaking of the design. The iPhone 8 plus is a massive phone, so you be able to use this with one hand by the way. In fact, it's one of the largest flagship smartphones on the market right now. So, if you compared to something like Samsung, Galaxy, s8 plus, for example, the difference between these two is just massive.

The phony plus is bulkier, and it's also significantly wider and significantly more difficult to hold in the hand than the SI plus which, by the way, comes with an even larger display. Now this has been fixed with the iPhone 10, but unfortunately on the iPhone 8 plus we still have the same 2014 design, at least on the front. However, one thing that has changed is the back, so we now have a glass back coming from the aluminum back on the iPhone 7 plus, maybe iPhone E Plus same as with the iPhone 8, now comes in three colors, so gold silver and Space Gray from the six colors that we had on the iPhone 7. Now the Space Gray, even though it's fairly hard to see in the video it's actually lighter than the Space Gray on the iPhone 7 plus. So it seems that Apple keeps changing the space great color every single year, but personally I like the one on the iPhone 7 plus or gave from 7 the most also Apple claims that the glass on both the front and the back of the iPhone 8 is the most durable glass on any smartphone.

But I already have some tiny hairline scratches on mine and by the way, this is just in three weeks after three weeks of use and that's that's what a case I've always had my case, the Apple case, the Apple leather case on my iPhone all the time. Yes, so if you take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S 8 plus, for example, I've been using this for the past six months, and this one is almost in mint condition and this one comes with Gorilla Glass, 5, lightweight, okay, so design wise, honestly you'll be using this with a case. Most of the time anyways most of you and since you'll only see the front of the phone most of the time, it will feel identical to a 2014, iPhone 6 plus now it is heavier by the way and also thicker than the iPhone 7 plus and compared to the iPhone 6, plus, it's actually 30 grams, heavier. So a pretty significant difference when you think about it, and it's also zero point four millimeters thicker and also 0.3 millimeters wider, and you will definitely notice this in your hand, so it will feel bulkier, especially if you're coming from life on six plus now moving on to the display. We get exactly this five point: five inch 1080p display as on every iPhone plus model, since guy phone six plus now on the iPhone 7, we did get a DCI p3 display.

So a much wider, color gamut, with better colors and better viewing angles, and now, with the iPhone eight, we do get a true tone display this time, so essentially a display that can automatically adjust it's called temperature based on the lighting conditions in your environment. So it's actually good for the eyes, but it doesn't always turn itself off when you're in the Photos app or when you're, taking a photo and especially when using a third-party app such as a third-party photo apps such as Google photos, for example, so because of this actually prefer keeping mine off, as it does affect your viewing experience and your photo of taking experience, but aren't that we get to no display improvements. So we have no OLED display like on the iPhone 10. We have no resolution improvements like on your content, so overall, it's mostly the same display as in 2014 but honestly for an LCD panel. This is by far the best LCD panel you'll ever find in a smartphone.

But honestly, the main change with the iPhone 8 plus is in terms of the camera. So when you take a look at a camera specs, they might look exactly the same. As you know the iPhone 7 plus. So we have a 12 megapixel sensor at one point: a temperature for the main lens F and F 2.8 for the secondary telephoto lens. Now we have optical image stabilization, but that's only on the main lens, so we still have no optical image stabilization on a telephoto or the zoom lens which, by the way we do have on the iPhone 10.

So it does look like the same camera when it comes to the specs. But it's far from that, so we do have a brining sensor which, according to Apple, actually captures 83 percent more light. The camera is definitely better than my iPhone 7, plus when it comes to low lights, but the main improvement honestly is in terms of processing. So Apple made some very big improvements when it comes to processing. Essentially, the camera knows what it sees, and it will adjust everything accordingly.

So yes, this! This is basically the smart camera that I've been talking about. In my leaks in from our series of the iPhone 10, so every shot is now technically an HDR shot, so the colors are way way way more vibrant than on the iPhone 7, plus the shadows, and the highlights are much better retains. But then a video has also been improved, so we don't get 4k video at 60 frames per second. This is actually the world's for a smartphone that can do this, and then you can also do a slow-motion 1080p up to 240 frames per second. Then we also have this new portrait lighting mode which at the moment is still in beta.

But if you use it correctly, it can actually produce some pretty nice-looking results. Now the front-facing camera unfortunately got zero improvement. So it's still exactly the same: seven megapixel sensor, F, 2.2, aperture and 1080p video recording you can do that with the front-facing camera. So it's exactly the same camera front-facing camera as on the iPhone 7, and a 7 plus no improvements here. Unfortunately, but overall, when you take a look at a camera itself, the back facing one, it's a massive step up from the iPhone 7 plus this camera.

Now, when it comes to the performance, we get a brand new Apple 11 processor, which is now based on a smaller 10 nanometer process, and it was really cool about the 810 chip.11 chips is that all six cores can be used at the same time when you do when you run an intensive app and the app 11 processors is so powerful that even outperforms, a 20-17, 13-inch, MacBook Pro and by the way I've actually done a 4k, video, editing and performance test and comparison between the iPhone, 8 plus and the 2017 15-inch MacBook Pro. So in case you want to check it out, definitely do because the results are really, really surprising. Now we also get the same amount of RAM as on the iPhone 7 plus, so three gigabytes of RAM now Apple has also included a neural engine on the Apple 810 processor. This one is actually capable of processing over 600 billion operations per second Mountain day from 10. That's used for face ID and deaf recognition, but on the iPhone 8 there is actually no use for it.

Yet. Ok, so long story short the iPhone 8 plus in the iPhone 8, or a crazy, crazy poor house, but at the same time, when it comes to day to day to day app usage, the iPhone 8 actually seems to be slower than my iPhone 7, that's mostly because most apps haven't been optimized yet and yes, iOS 11 has been a pretty bad experience when it comes to performance. I've had my iPhone, 8 plus lag quite a number of, so in the end the performance is there, but Apple isn't taking full advantage of it. Yet, okay, now moving on to the new features we get a few of them. So the first one, and I would actually call this.

The main big feature of the iPhone 8 and the iPhone e+ is actually wireless charging now I know this. Isn't anything new we've had this on many Android smartphones for many years now, but it's really, really good to see it. Finally, on the iPhones as well now, this is also based on the QI charging standard. So basically, you can use any cheap charger that you get from Amazon that you wish you don't need to buy an Apple branded one and by the way, if you're interested in picking up this charger, it's fairly cheap, and it works quite well. I've included the link for this.

In the description, then I also got quick charging up to 50% in 30 minutes, which is really, really impressive, but you do need to use a more powerful charger, such as a MacBook charger. Unfortunately, Apple does include a charger, a fast charger in the box, with the iPhone II. Do you have to buy a separate one, and I've actually done a quick charging speed test multiple chargers? That's in case you are curious to see which charger actually works the best now. Another new feature is when it comes to the speakers, so the speakers have been improved on the iPhone, 8 and gate plus, so they're about 25% louder than on the iPhone 7 according to Apple and honestly. Yes, they do feel louder than the iPhone 7 ones, but not by a lot.

Overall. These are actually still the best speakers on any smartphone right now, at least that's you know until the pixel 2 XL comes out in a few weeks, which might come with even better speakers, because their front-facing, and you know the pixels jacks I've- actually asked them some pretty thick bezels because of these speakers, so they should be pretty, pretty good. Now, besides the speakers improvements, we also get Bluetooth 5.0 now, what's really cool about this is that it comes with 2x a signal strength and then, when it comes to the range, the range has also been improved to up to 200 meters, which is crazy and what's even cooler about it, is that it supports two audio devices connected at the same time now, fortunately, Apple doesn't support this at the moment. So maybe this will be added in a future update, especially when the second-generation ear pods would Bluetooth 5.0 come out as well or in that. VR has also been improved, so Apple actually added a new gyroscope inside the iPhone 8, and they also tweaked the for better tracking and I have to say it is better than the iPhone 7 plus when it comes to air.

But it's not that significant. It's not a striking difference. To be honest, so if you're thinking of upgrading, just because of you know the improvement, they are, don't do it, but that's mostly it that that's about it. So there's no special unique feature other than everything that I've already mentioned before. Okay, now, moving on to the battery, the battery life is actually really, really good, like perfect.

So it's its a significant improvement from my iPhone spun, plus, and I'm, not just saying this, because you know I've been using my iPhone 7 plus for a year and obviously the battery is the greater that's also the case, but mainly because the Apple, a Kevin processor is more power efficient. Since it's based on a smaller centimeter process, it's more efficient and fun facts. The battery size itself on the iPhone 8 plus, is actually two hundred twenty William hours. Middle part is smaller than the iPhone 7 plus one. So it's almost you know an Apple Watch battery size, difference, okay, so in the end, what do I think about the iPhone 8 plus? Is it worth it? Is it not worth it well, I think the best way to answer that question is by starting a zone of tech scoring system which I've actually started a few videos ago, and I'm doing this for every one of my in-depth reviews, so here's how much they phone 8 plus gets and why so for anyone getting the iPhone 8 plus as a brand-new device, so a first-time iPhone buyer I would give the economic plus an 8.5 out of 10. Now, if you're, upgrading from an iPhone, 7 plus I, would give this about a 6 point, 2 out of 10 and here's why? Okay, so on the plus side, the 40 plus is incredibly fast, then it also comes with the best display.

That's for an LCD panel in any smartphone, then it also comes with a significant camera improvement from an iPhone, an iPhone, 7 plus or an iPhone 7, especially when it comes to the video not just photo processing, but also video. Then the ecosystem is just great, so performance and app selection wise. This is just great, especially if you have multiple Apple devices and then, of course, we have wireless charging, which is a pretty big feature and improvements and addition to the iPhone lineup. Now, on the negative side, it's still a 2014 designed. So besides, you know the old 2014 design.

We have no display resolution improvement or display panel improvements when it comes with technology. Some know all the display at all then fast charging requires you to buy a separate adapter, which is going to cost you extra, and then we have exactly the same front facing camera as on the iPhone.7 plus are no improvements there, and then I'm not sure how many of you know this, but I found eight plus is even more expensive than the iPhone 7 plus was last year. Okay, so overall Apple should have really called this: an iPhone 7s and not not an iPhone eight. They only called it an iPhone eight by the way, because of marketing reasons. Since you know everyone was expecting the iPhone eight, the big iPhone eight, they decided to call it the iPhone eight, and then you know the iPhone 8, the iPhone 10.

So that's why it's called the iPhone 1890 iPhone 7s. Let me know the comments. What you guys think by the way about the f-18 and the iPhone 8 plus, and also, let me know if you have one if you picked one up instead of the egg content, for example, and here's the thing the iPhone 210 is just around the corner: I mean it's like what three weeks away two weeks away, so it kind of makes the iPhone eight already feel old and outdated, but yeah. Let me know in comments why you guys think about all this. If you have enjoyed this video, for you describe an email notification.

If you want to see more in-depth reviews like this one and also don't forget to check out my iPhone 8 in the preview, if you want to see my take on the smaller model and then also I've also done a review on the Apple Watch Series 3 in case want to check it out in the freaky on the Apple Watch mystery in case you missed that Alex, but yeah. This has been pretty much it, so I. Think of watching this video I'm, Daniel and I'll see you guys in my next one sort of tech signing out juice.
