iPhone 8 Plus 1 Year Later Honest Experience!

So, what is up guys Nick here, helping you to master your technology, iPhone 8 +, 1 year later honest experience now I made videos on this phone quite a bit, but I want to give you my updated one year later experience what it's been like to use this device over-the-air. My current updated feelings about it, because this phone has quite an interesting price drop to $6.99 I. Think that's going to be a compelling option for many people, especially if they don't like that notch, and they get a little confused. What should I go with the A+ or the 10r we'll be comparing those two more closely together when it does drop, but I do have the red one. Now, if you watch my videos for quite some time, you'll see that I had the silver one when it first came out, did a review on that guy, and then I went over to the red version here when it did launch. This was the color I've always dreamed of for basically any phone, and that is a red back with a front black.

So that's really beautiful to me. So I picked this one up right here now, you'll be able to get this red and black kind of color scheme for the iPhone 10 R as well the product red with the black front. So that's coming. If you really dig this color right here, so let's talk about the design and the build now this phone actually doesn't feel that much different from a tennis max in the hand as they're, both very similar sized devices. However, the sides are aluminum here for the iPhone, a plus.

So after a year, I don't really have any scratches or scuffs on this one, and I didn't have any on the silver one as well in terms of the weight of this device. If you're buying the A+, it's definitely a heavier device. If you're coming from something like an iPhone 6s, for example, an iPhone 7 one of these smaller iPhone devices, you will feel the weight in the hand. However, this was one of the first iPhones in this series to bring it, actually. It was the first iPhone in the series to bring wireless charging in a glass back to this design.

Now this always made it felt a little more fragile than something like the iPhone 7 plus, for example, it made me a little more scared to use it without having a case on it. Coming to this one, you do get a more fragile but a more premium refined design over the last versions, and that's one thing I really liked over my one you're using it is that this phone just felt super premium, even though it had an older design, it still feels very premium now the front build of this device is definitely probably the more stale looking of the whole entire device, and that's because of these chunky bezels. Now a lot of people do love and miss touch ID for phones like the A+, but these thick bezels when you are looking at it versus a newer phone, and they can't start to make the phone look like it's from another era, or something like that, even though it's only from last year 2017. So this phone not gonna, be your most premium standout flashy kind of phone, it's more of a practical, perfect iPhone, with a big standard 16 by 9 display. So that brings me onto display now this guy has a 1920 by 1080p display, and it's very sharp.

It's not actually in need of any more pixels per inch. I feel like it's just that it doesn't pop like one of the older displays out there. However, you know when you're reading this does help out a lot that it's not so vibrant and in-your-face. It actually is a really comfortable reading phone in the iPhone, 8 plus true tone is onboard here. This wasn't on any of the prior plus model iPhones and that really helps out reading as well on a device or just looking at anything, and it gets the color right for this display, take it out a zoom mode.

Unlike the iPhone 10s and Mac's, this display was able to rotate and that's key for making your phone feel like you, don't need an iPad as you turn it. This way check this out. You got yourself a mini iPad here in your hand, that's basically how this phone works in landscape and then, if you go into the apps, you still have your split pane. You know type of applications, because this is a plus model. Now the bezels do come in handy here on this display when you are holding it like so, whereas on the iPhone 10s max, for example, your thumbs would be more like over here, because the screen stretches all the way down now in terms of brightness.

I feel like this phone was also very easy to read outdoors as LCD's are known to be easy to read outdoors, and it was plenty bright for most circumstances. I never felt like I needed more brightness with this phone now, I, also really liked how wide the display was when it comes to reading things. So, for example, when you're reading across a display, it's not so narrow and crunched in, like the text on an iPhone 10s, for example, is more narrow. So your eyes just have more room to go across here on reading an article, for example, on an iPhone 8 plus. So that's one thing: I do really like about this display is that it keeps that 16 by 9 standard display a lot of people.

Don't even think about this, but actually the newer displays are a lot more narrow, and you have to pinch out to get in that standard resolution on video I do like how you know comfortable the viewing experience was on the iPhone 8 plus, especially with the addition of true tone and on video. This is probably where the A+ has definitely been upgraded with. The newer phones is because I think, oh, let's do shine in the video Department overall with 401 pixels per inch in a white color gamut. This display is super accurate, super bright, and it has true tone to add to just a better experience as oleo phobic coating, and it does scratch after you know you get so many uses out of it so put a screen protector on it. Only downside to this phone screen is the obvious one, and that is that it kind of just doesn't look like 2018 and if you can deal with that, you do get the benefit of fast and efficient touch ID and you do get pretty much all the other features of the newer displays, including the addition of things like 3d touch something you're, not even gonna, get on the iPhone 10 R.

So that's really cool thing about the 8 plus as well. Cheaper, yet gives you a more premium feature. Ok! So let's talk about software, the iPhone 8 plus has been updated just as frequently as any other iPhone and I have to tell you. Software has run perfect on the iPhone 8 plus for me, I haven't had really any bugs dating all the way back to iOS 11 point what two or three you know when I first came out. There was some hang-ups here and there in terms of just some software bugs, but I mean it never really ran slow.

This phone says Dave one since I purchased, it silvers and the red bottles have been running extremely well like better than any other iPhone I've used. So this one is a beast in performance, and anybody with an iPhone 8 plus, will tell you the same thing. More than likely, they're, not going to say that their phone performs slow, very fast performance here. Apple an 11 Bionic chipset in iOS 12 also brings screen time, which is allows you to track your screen time, and you know everything you're doing on your phone. You also get some new emojis coming in 12.1. You also get Siri shortcuts for this device and many more additions to iOS 12.

So that is basically been no issue. Is software for the iPhone 8 plus now I just talked about performance a little on this device, but three gigabytes of RAM Apple, three core GPU and this guy does have iOS 12 anything you throw at it. It's no problem for the iPhone 8 plus it's superfast. Everything is efficient, applications are polished, and it just runs great here for the device. So, if you're looking to get this for performance, you're going to be very happy.

I think you're going to be extremely happy with just basic apps and gaming, and you know graphically intensive apps. This phone is a powerhouse trapped in an older design. One area where the 10s max might still outshine this device, though, will be in multitasking 3 gigabytes of RAM versus 4 gigabytes of RAM. This one might be able to hold just a little less applications, but it's not gonna, be so much that it's gonna ruin the experience or anything like that. So talking about the colors, the iPhone 8 plus came in this nice red color, this product red edition.

It also came in gold. It came in space, gray and silver, so you have four different color options to choose from not as many as ten are and not as many as you know, the iPhone 7 plus even had now when it comes to storage, I got the 64. Gig I never felt like I needed more than that and there's a huge deal that happened with Apple a couple updates ago was a few updates ago actually, but when they changed the way the photos were to like the HE, C I believe it is. Let me go down to the camera when any of their photos more efficient in the formatting that changed the game for storage on these devices. Now I'm not saying everybody can get by with 64, but I think most people can, if they monitor the use, it's not going to be like 16 gigs was back then, so I think you could get by with a 6 with a 64 gig.

If you use iCloud, if you use Google photos on the side, if you use Dropbox extra storage solutions, it's not that hard to get by with a 64 gigabyte device. Now let me talk about battery life. My absolute favorite thing about the A+ is its Marathon battery life. This phone never died on me one day. I've never had this thing die on me ever in my entire use of this phone, the most reliable battery experience I've ever had an iPhone now the iPhone 10s max is also proving to be very similar to this I'm, still testing that one out I have to do a test against that one to see if they plus can beat it.

But this phone right here is not gonna. Let you down and battery again it's not gonna. Let you down in battery and one more time: it's not gonna. Let you down in battery ok, so let me get on to the camera Department. Now, of course, we don't need to talk about the software.

This thing is iOS through and through it's the same iOS experience when it comes to the camera forever simple to use. However, settings are buried for camera settings all the way down at the bottom of your settings, menu which is kind of a pain, because you got to keep going in there every time you want to change something and if you're, in the middle of a shot, or you're, trying to film a video or something, and you got to go back and forth, they can get rather annoying quickly. Now the thing is: is the sensor is rather smaller than a new 10 s and the 10 R and Menace max on this phone, but I think most people will be happy with everyday pics for this device and video looks great 48, plus the video on the new phones again improved a little brighter a little more sharp than this one, but go ahead and take a look at these samples of the 8 pluses camera that I took throughout my usage of this phone, and let me know if it's going to be worth it for you in the comment section: okay guys. So here is the 1080p video footage on the iPhone 8 plus now I'm going to run a little here. So you can see the stabilization jump a little right there, and could see there is the stabilization of the iPhone.

Eight plus and I am on it Movie its Gorilla pod. So it's a little more stable, and would be with your hands, but there is what you're going to get with the iPhone 8 plus when it comes to stability. It's a very stable camera. Oh, is onboard here. Okay, so here is some front-facing video testing of the iPhone 8 plus you see, and I've just shifted from the shade to right here.

You think that the iPhone 8 plus has a slightly better camera. Now, when it comes to audio with the A+ nice stereo sound, so you can see that the audio was definitely a nice update over the seven plus and prior versions to this. This was really loud. The tennis max takes it up a notch, but still stereo speakers on here, so you're not missing much in the new iPhones going with the cheaper, a plus, so I'm not gonna, go on too much about gaming. It's basically the same as my performance section.

Everything ran, smooth everything ran fast, the phone did drain a little more battery than I would like in gaming. This is one area where it will take a hit on the eight pluses battery as it does with any other device, but when it comes to just my overall gaming experience, I've had no issues playing anything I wanted to throw at this phone having these bezels. Sometimes it is a benefit to me to be able to hold on to this. It feels like a controller when you could hold on to something and still play your game, especially those racing games where it's kind of like the controls are moving. The car like this.

That's a really nice thing to have for that, but still the design is going to be questionable for some. So in terms of the phone calling experience, it's actually been rather good for me on the iPhone, 8 plus I had a couple of drop calls throughout my year, but I could literally count on my fingers how many drop calls I had on this phone speakerphone very loud because of these speakers on the top and the bottom, and a very nice big display for making your dials. So it's a really nice calling experience here, 48 plus pretty standard, but still very nice. So one thing I want to tell you that was really great about using the 8 plus is the texting experience. The keyboard is so wide and large on the 8 plus it's actually easy super easy to type and because it's so accurate I had no issues with the 8 plus at all.

This thing has just been great for typing, so if you like a spacious keyboard, you can't really can't beat the 8 plus the tennis max is up there, but this one was great as well, so I loved the messaging typing experience on this phone and I think you will to okay. So let's talk about the pricing and the value of this phone $6.99 for this device, so it's still up there with the 10r $50 more gets you into a 10 R. If you want that newer design go with it. However, if you don't want that newer design, you still want to save some bucks. Don't even buy this at $6.99. Go find this secondhand where you're going to get it.

For probably you know, 550, maybe even 6, and then you're saving big over the 10r, and this offers some things that that doesn't offer number one is the 3d touch. Number two is dual-camera. Yes, it has a great camera on the 10r, probably better than the primary lens on here, but you don't have that optical 2x, like you, can get on the A+. So there is a benefit there. You have 1080p display here, which is definitely a benefit I, don't care what anybody says.

I know it's going to look good because they know how to tune or displays, but you just can't beat 401 PPI with a 326 PPI. It just doesn't happen, so that's it with my iPhone eight plus. One year later, honest experience, it's been great. This phone has been pretty perfect besides the fact that it has that steel or older design, but I mean you know that coming into this, it's not like you're. Looking at this one you're like oh, it's, a modern brand-new all screen is that you know what you're getting when you buy, any it plus, so I think most people buying.

These is ok with that. So dollar for dollar you're, basically getting more for your money with this phone and a 10 are a 10s or even a 10s max, because it does all of those things just as fast. The cameras are nearly as good, it does 4k 60, and it's not gonna, be slow for years to come. The only thing you don't get is the modern design and all that stuff. So it's like buying a car, that's just as good, but they change a design on the car.

And now you still have a great car, but you want the newer one just because it looks newer so like that's kind of like what we were at right now, but you're also going to pay that premium to get that newer one. So if you like to be on the flashiest phone, this one's, not for you now I know some people are going to say you know what no, that phone is looks old, there are phones that look way better than that, and they're cheaper than that, and they might look better. Some of these phones, but I can guarantee you one thing: they don't run as smooth as this phone. They don't have updates as frequently as its phone number two. They don't have a better camera than this phone, because this phone has some of the best video in the business at 4k, 60p and most people can attest to that have used this device.

It doesn't have the amount of accessories. This phone has. You can get cases everywhere for this phone screen protectors all kinds of accessories for this device. You don't have 3d touch on your device. More than likely that's pretty unique to the iPhone more than likely, unless you're buying a Huawei device with their natural tone setting you don't have a true tone style feature and don't give me that blue light bull crap or that night shift bull crap.

That stuff is not true tone. True tone adjust automatically in any lighting conditions, so for those people are gonna, say that you know much better-looking phones, yes, there might be much better-looking phones, but let's not dismiss the A+. Just because there's some good-looking phones out there for cheap this phone will hold its value better than most of those devices in terms of how much money you're going to get for it. You know, after a long time, and that's mostly because of that guy right there that Apple logo, so there's a lot to be had still with the iPhone 8 plus. So that's it for me.
