Warning reviewing this video is performed by someone who thinks he's a professional. You can try this at home. I mean why the not hello, I'm Jerome Ortega. You may remember me from such YouTube videos as battle of the big episode, 1 and battle of the big episode 2. It's been a while okay, Aaron Lewis. Thank you anyway.
Sorry for the hiatus I'm back come on. You saw that one coming yeah, yeah real talk. It's been well over a month since I've last posted and that sucks, if you follow me on Twitter I'm sure you've kept up, but the lack of videos has been eating at me. Bear with me as I transition back I've moved into a new apartment, my head's in the right place, and so before I jump into the final iteration of battle of the big. Let's recap in episode, 1 we covered price, the iPhone 7 plus, and the Google Pixel Excel still carry heavy price tags at eight hundred and sixty-nine dollars before tax for their hundred and twenty-eight gigabyte variant.
While the 128 gigabyte, one plus three T, comes in at four hundred. Seventy-nine dollars shipped to your door at nearly half the cost as its competitors. If price is a determining factor for you, you're going to want to take a look at the three t when it comes to form factor. The seven plus is the biggest physically. The Google Pixel XL fits much better in hand comparatively speaking, and the one plus 3t is the smallest physically.
Even though all three housed 5.5 inch displays the one plus 3t gets my vote here. All three phones provide premium build quality. You won't be disappointed in either. In my opinion, my only gripe is at the back glass that covers the top portion of the pixel Excel, scratches easily use a case or add some protection back there. You're going to need it in Episode.
Two I cover things like displays. All three provide an excellent viewing experience. The pixel XL offers the highest resolution at 1440p, which is suited for VR, while the 7 plus + 3 T max out at 1080p performance-wise. All three phones are powerhouses and get the job done, but at the 1 plus 3 T's low price. It bears mentioning that its specs are really impressive for what it can do and what it can offer definitely bang for the buck here when it comes to charging using the manufacturers, stock, charger and cable, the one plus 3t charges the fastest for a 3400 William hour battery.
It hits about 55 percent in 30 minutes and fully charged at around an hour and 35 minutes with the pixel excel at its battery capacity of thirty-four fifty William hours, it's the largest of the three just edging out the three T by 50 mill, amp hours at around 30 minutes, I've hit around 45 percent and fully charged at a little over an hour and 50 minutes about 15 to 20 minutes longer to charge than the 1 + 3 T. Now the iPhone 7 plus, is the slowest of the bunch, despite having the smallest battery capacity at 2900 William hours using the stock charger and cable gets to 19% at 30 minutes 72% after 2 hours and hits a hundred percent at around almost three and a half hours. Now I've heard you can use the iPad charger to get it charged faster. But why didn't it come with this out of the box? Is it bad to use the iPad charger to charge the seven-plus, if not for a phone you're paying over 900 dollars, for you think they give you the better charger. I did a little testing with this third-party charger, don't mind the real shaky hand here on the video, but my southern plus hits 32 percent at 30 minutes 13 percent faster than stock and fully charged in about 2 hours and 35 minutes around 15 minutes faster than using what Apple gives you, but still slower than what the 1 + 3 t, + pixel XL have to offer.
I've also performed a drain test on all three of these phones from a fresh factory. Reset I didn't play anything intensive. Just a screen. Saver type, video on YouTube at 100% brightness. This was something I thought would only take around 4 to 6 hours.
But well, let me show you. After the first hour, the iPhone 7 plus dropped to 84% the pixel Excel 90%, the 1 + 3 t 91% after 2 hours, ? 7, + dip down to 63% that pixel Excel 80%. The 3 T 81% a big difference as a 7 + took a huge hit in battery fast-forward to 5 hours. The 7 plus is now down 2% and the pixel XL is still at 52%, the one plus 3t at 53% five-and-a-half minutes later the seven plus dies out now, whether this is because the seven plus displays brighter than the pixel XL or the 3t is something I'd have to test. But this is a huge difference and even though the pixel Excel and one plus 3t are neck-and-neck in battery I have to give credit to the pixel X out, because it's pushing more pixels as it uses a 1440p display and at ten hours as I was pretty much falling, asleep I clocked the pixel excel at one percent, the 3t at nine percent, the pixel Excel dies 30 seconds later at 10 hours and 30 seconds and well.
I fell asleep after that I'd imagine. At this rate, it probably hit close to 11 hours of the screen on time. That is one plus 3t, truly, truly impressive. But let's be realistic. What matters is every day real-world use with a demands tray activated at probably a 50/50 mix of LTE and Wi-Fi I've used all three pretty extensively over the last few months, and I usually find that the iPhone 7 plus and the one plus 3t, give me the most life throughout my day with medium to heavy usage, I can go pretty much a little over a day without charging with lighter use a day and a half, and while the pixel excels still gives me decent battery life to get me through the day, I usually find the battery dead if I don't charge it overnight.
Now, your mileage may vary depending on how you use your phone, but these are my results. I'm curious, though, what do you get out of your pixel excel? Do you ever consistently hit five plus hours of screen on time? That's something! I have a tough time doing. Let me know in the comments now my plan was to finish the battle of the big series today, but there's still too much to cover and not enough time for me to edit. Don't worry, I feel my groove coming back. I'm still trying to get back into this, but you know what now that I actually think about it.
This might be something that's going to be ongoing, because there's always going to be bigger. Phones coming down the road, but you know what I got this later this week, I'll be going over photos, videos, stabilization and probably even like competition around the corner.
