iPHONE 12 UNBOXING AND SET UP + PREVIOUS iPHONE MODEL COMPARISONS By Mia Rivera

Hi guys it's MIA here, welcome or welcome back to my channel today we're going to be unboxing and setting up my new iPhone 12. I actually got my iPhone 12 yesterday, and it came at night, and I've been waiting to film this video. So you have no idea how bad I wanted to open this. I actually have some of my old iPhone models that I would love to compare to my new phone. So if you'd like to see that keep watching, don't forget to like and subscribe comment down, what kind of phone do you have for this video, I'm filming with my iPhone XR like I usually do, and I'm using my mom's old iPhone, so we're going to have two angles, one pointing with my hand, so you guys can see it up close and one where you can see me the most satisfying part taking off the plastic, oh she's, so pretty, so before we take a look at the phone. We're going to see the contents of the box.

So first there's like the instructions that come with every phone. This is to remove the sim card. These are the instructions that literally no one reads, and then it comes with the apple sticker. It used to actually come with two stickers, but now they just have one. Here we have the new USB cord.

As you can see, it obviously doesn't come with the charging. Brick, the whole reason apple didn't bring. The charging box with our iPhones is because it's more eco-friendly, since we have so many extra regular boxes, which is true, but with the new iPhones. Now we only have one it kind of makes no sense. They should have at least put it for all the iPhone 12s and then stopped after that, so we could at least all have a box.

Luckily I have mine, I got it from T-Mobile. It was only 20. It sucks because I always lose my charger, so I'm going to have to be very careful with this and not even bring it anywhere. The power adapter and the new charging cord is actually supposed to charge your phone even faster than the normal cords that we've been using, and this cord is actually used for my MacBook. So I think it's true, because my MacBook charges really fast with the lightning UBC cord.

I think I'm not good at technology terms, but let's open this so for the charger. It obviously has the normal power adapter that goes inside your phone, but the end of it looks like this now and then this is what the power adapter looks like that all right now that the boring stuff is out of the way. Let's look at the phone, I really like how it has stickers of the buttons in case anyone had like an iPhone 8, 7 or 6, who never had the style of an off-screen before so that's kind of cool how they have the symbols there. I already know, though, because I had the XR, but here we go wow, here's the beauty. I cannot go with a color, it's so pretty.

The reason I choose mint green is that green and turquoise are my favorite colors because of Nico and Selena Gomez. Now, when I look at my phone I'll be reminded of both of them, I love colorful iPhone colors, like my iPhone XR's coral, because I used to always get white and gold phones, so I wanted to like mix it up a bit, there's actually a ceramic shield on the glass it's actually supposed to prevent it from shattering, which I think is really cool, because a lot of us are really clumsy and crack our screens. You know my iPhone XR cracked under my screen protector like the whole screen protector, was cracked, and so was my phone underneath which sucked, hopefully that will happen with this with a ceramic shield. The aluminum rails on the phone also make it really easy to grab and not have it slip out of your hands because the phones we have now the iPhones they have like curved edges or corners. So this has a much better grip when you hold it.

The aluminum rails also look like the ones that were on the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5, which is kind of cool that they brought it back. It looks much more modern inside the phone actually has a magnet that you can charge with, and you can also put like wallet accessories and other things on it, which I think is really cool. I didn't get that, though, maybe one day we're gonna, get our power adapter taken, and then we're only going to charge stuff magnetically. Also, inside the phone is an a14. I think bionic chip is supposed to be the fastest chip in our smartphone.

The iPhone 12 is also spill and splash resistant. I think which is cool because I heard of it being water resistant. But now I guess it's spill resistant. So if you ever spill anything on your phone, hopefully you'll be safe. We're not gonna.

Try that, though, but let's take apple's word for it. The main reason I got this phone was for my videos, so T-Mobile was doing a BOGO sale and my mom got the iPhone 12 mini. So I got one free, which is such a cool deal. I've never seen apple, be so generous. I was really grateful, but her camera.

When I opened it up, it has wide lenses, and I heard that the back camera it has like night mode where your pictures are still going to be in perfect quality during the night. I think that's really helpful because, as you've seen some of my videos, my friends and I like to drive at night and the wide lens will be perfect for showing all of us in, like the passenger seat and the night mode will be perfect for when we go out at night, and I'm trying to show you guys stuff, but the quality is bad, not anymore. I can't wait to see how this phone makes my new videos look because, with the wide lens in the night mode, it's going to look so much clearer and better. Underneath the power button is also the antenna for the 5g internet. That's new! So now we're going to turn her on.

I heard that when you set up the iPhone 12, and you put your old phone next to it, they're actually supposed to automatically sync, and you won't even have to like tap on your backup, because everything will sync. Hopefully that happens because I can't even back up my phone, because I have so much storage on it. I have everything on iCloud like my photos and um, my apps and stuff, so I think we're going to be fine, but let's see it has the signature. Hello screen, I'm going to click on my language, English, so it says quick, start bring your current iPhone or iPad near this phone to sign in and set it up, and I just got the thing on my phone so perfect. So I want you to put your phone camera over this.

Just like your Apple Watch when you set it up, so we're gonna. Try that now it's asking for face id set up now. It's asking to transfer data for my iPhone XR continue what the heck the terms and conditions font looks so weird. Does anyone actually read this? I think we should, but I don't they're going to also transfer your settings. They better have my male Australian series still set up.

I like the mail Siri now it's asking. If I want to use my Apple Watch with this phone, I actually have my watch on. So I'm going to sync it. My Apple Watch is officially set up with my new phone: hey Siri, hey Siri is ready. I have to download iOS 14.4. I thought it would already be on there now I'm waiting for iOS 14.4 to download, as I'm setting up my phone. My old phone still says this, I'm so happy.

They did that because, usually when I get a new phone, I have all my photos on iCloud, but I'll usually have to download all my apps again, because I had so much storage that my phone could never back up on my iCloud. I don't know how to back up my phone through my computer, so I always have to re-download all my apps using a screenshot of my own phone to get the apps again. It was really tedious and annoying. So I'm glad that I never have to do that again. It asked if I had an iPad around too, so I feel like if you get a new iPad too, or maybe even a new computer, it could sync it up.

I think that's a perfect improvement. Does anyone else keep their um old, iPhone boxes? I feel like there's no purpose, but for some reason we all just can't throw them out it's kind of funny. So this is my old iPhone Mrs box, and this is how thick it is, but this is the iPhone 12 box. This is the comparison, that's a drastic change. I didn't realize how thin it was until I put them two together.

They both still have like the overall design, the apples at the end, the phones on the front. So I found my old iPhone 4. This was actually my very first iPhone and I got it in fifth grade and I never had an iPhone 5, but this is the most similar shape to the iPhone 12. Let's take the case off. It has that boxy style that the iPhone 12 has they both have a glass back.

Can you believe how small they are? The buttons obviously changed and still have the chargers remember when there was a headphone jack throwback and then this is my current phone. Next to my new phone, as you can see, I love fun colors for iPhone they're, both like the same size, kinda, but obviously my old phone's, more curvy, the side buttons are still the same. One of my favorite things about the iPhone 12 that the pro max doesn't have is the glass back. I like the glossy color, although it does have fingerprints easily. I like it much better than the matte finish on the iPhone pro.

Furthermore, I mean iPhone, 12 pro 28 minutes remaining I'll, see you guys when iOS 14.4 finishes. Downloading iOS 14 has finished downloading. Now it's asking me for my apple password. The one thing I didn't like about the transfer thing is the wallpapers aren't the same and some of the apps I have aren't like the same, as there are some apps that I downloaded recently that aren't on here. So I don't know what's with that, but I can obviously do that again.

Now I'm going to remove the sim card from my own phone to my new phone now it says T-Mobile at the top, so everything's transferred. Now that my iPhone's finished being set up, we're going to put my case and screen protector on. Sometimes it helps to put stickers on both sides, so you can get help to align it. The screen protector is put on now it's time to put on the camera screen protector. I got this because I make YouTube videos on my phone, and we can't have that getting scratched up.

The reason my screen protector didn't have packaging is because I already had one saved and the iPhone XR and the iPhone 11 have the same size screen, so it was able to fit on there perfectly. The camera protector is on now it's time to put on my phone case, I got a clear phone case to show off the color of mine. Oh my gosh my case doesn't even fit its falling out. Oh my gosh, don't tell me. I just bought an iPhone 11 case for an iPhone 12, and I destroyed the packaging.
