iPhone 12 Pro Vs OnePlus 8T! (Comparison) (Review) By Simple Alpaca

Welcome back everyone, as you guys may know, the iPhone 12 Pro has just come out, and so has the OnePlus 8t. So let's go ahead and see how they compare whether you should pick up the 80 or the iPhone 12 Pro now actually on Amazon, the OnePlus 8t is much cheaper than the iPhone 12 Pro. This one is costing 750 on Amazon the iPhone 12 Pro cost about a thousand dollars. I spent a thousand dollars on this one I spent I think, 7.99 on this one or something like that on OnePlus website, but it could be 749 now I don't know, but this one is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than this one, but is it worth it? Let's go ahead and find out now side by side. You can definitely see and also link both of them linked down below for the cheapest prices that I find on Amazon, so you get them from. You can definitely see that the OnePlus 8t is a far bigger phone and honestly, if I have to say it, looks far better on the front than the iPhone 12 Pro you can see, we have the whole punch display on the OnePlus 8, and I think the OnePlus 8 panels is really, really nice this year. Of course, the OnePlus 8 had a perfect panel too, but this one is a 6.55 inch fluid AMOLED display. Now, surprisingly, the resolution is lower. The PPI is lower, but you do get that 120hz refresh rate on this specific panel. Now that, in and of itself, in my opinion, is something that takes the panel from like a 7 out of 10 to like a 9.9 out of 10. The only thing that it's missing really is like a 1440p panel, but even then you can't really tell the difference.

This is an perfect panel, one of the better panels for a budget tier. It's not even a budget device. Don't I'm not going to say that, but it's a very good price device for this type of panel print sensor in the display, not that much to complain about now? The iPhone 12 Pro, on the other hand, takes a little of a different approach. This is a 6.1 inch. Super retina, Dr OLED display so pretty much a smaller design, a smaller panel than the OnePlus 8t, but bigger than the last year's 11 pro now.

This resolution is higher than the OnePlus 8ts, and you also have more pixels per inch, which is fascinating. So if you really like zoom into this display you're going to feel like you have a, I guess, clear display than the OnePlus 8t, but I think apple really dropped the ball this year because they kept that same price tag at a thousand dollars, which is a lot of money, but they didn't really do anything crazy. They just made the flats sides on the iPhone 12 Pro other than that they really didn't do anything insane and that's something that I really didn't like too much. We've seen design changes for OnePlus for a long time. The seven pro last year was a pretty big design change.

The OnePlus 8t really wasn't a crazy big design change from the OnePlus 8, but it still looks good, and I think, when you look at both of these in terms of the front panel, the iPhone 12 Pro just doesn't do and the OnePlus 8t. In my opinion, day-to-day use- but you know, looks in terms of the panels- aren't really everything the OnePlus 8t is missing IP certification, and that is where the iPhone 12 Pro really shines, and you can go 6 meters of water for 30 minutes. This phone may be a little waterproof. I don't know it's not really certified, but at least you have that certification here, which is a huge asset for the 12 pro now in terms of the thickness they both kind of feel pretty thick. The OnePlus 8t may be a little thicker.

It's weird, though, because the iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro is said to be thinner than the previous models, but because of the flat side, you're pretty much, always feeling the thickest point of the phone, whereas on the OnePlus 8t, because you do kind of have a curved architecture to it, at least on the back right here. It makes it feel thinner, but I think it's thicker on the OnePlus 8t than the on the iPhone 12 Pro and on the back. We have a triple camera setup on the iPhone 12 Pro with a LIDAR sensor, and we have a kind of like a quadruple camera setup on the OnePlus 8t, with a dual flash which is really cool. You don't have any wireless charging on the OnePlus 8t. So keep that in mind.

The iPhone 12 Pro has wireless charging, as well as that MagSafe capability here, which is really cool so in terms of the outside. For the most part, this is a very confusing one, because in some ways I like the iPhone 12 Pro, I think pretty much for everything except the iPhone 12 pros display is not or is better than the OnePlus 8t. So you know the OnePlus 8t has a better display for the most part, but everything else about the phone. I mean it's lacking IP certification, and it's lacking wireless charging. It's pretty like dumb things to miss out on the iPhone 12 Pro excels in those things and- and some people may prefer the flat sides over just the curve design.

I think, when you're feeling both in the hand they both feel extremely, extremely good. They both feel like flagships and they both have a good half to them. I don't know if you prefer one over the other one in terms of the body, but just know the OnePlus 8t is bigger. The iPhone 12 Pro smaller in terms of software, though again we're comparing android to iOS. If you like iOS, then go for the iPhone, if you don't like iOS, then go for the android.

I'll. Definitely tell you like this. In terms of longevity, even though the OnePlus devices are perfect in terms of software, the iPhone of that year will definitely outlast the OnePlus of that year. As of right. Now, I don't know if that's gonna change in the future, it might, but the iPhone 12 Pro will probably get a couple more years of software updates than the OnePlus 8t.

So kind of keep that in mind. If you like, more openness and kind of like installing your own apps and stuff, the OnePlus 8t is the best way to go, but the iPhone 12 Pro still has a lot of going for it too. So in terms of this software department that pretty much covers it up now I'll go ahead and do a little of a speed test between both these devices. But I'll tell you the specs. First, the OnePlus 8t has that Qualcomm snapdragon 865 chipsets, with 12 gigabytes of ram for the top tier model and eight gigabytes of ram for that bottom tier model, and this one has eight gigabytes of ram.

The iPhone 12 Pro has that Apple A14 bionic chip with six gigabytes of ram on all the models, so let's go and see which one is the faster phone between both of these okay. Let me go and make sure all the apps are cleared out and all the apps are cleared on both of these. Let me go ahead and open up their app stores. Three two one and the OnePlus 8t definitely was faster there in terms of the smoothness factor. You can definitely see the iPhone.12 pro seems to be smoother than the OnePlus 8t. I don't know why this one is glitching all over the place.

This one has a 120hz refresh rate and I think when you're looking at it face to face, I think the OnePlus 80 started looking better, but the iPhone 12 Pro looked better from the start, which was perfect. Now I do have a bunch of these third-party apps that I can go and get into. Let's do temple run two three two one, and it's kind of looking like the 12 pro, maybe a little faster, but I guess we'll wait and see what happens. I think the 12 pro was the faster one there, but they both were very, very close. It was like almost hand in hand.

Now the gameplay is going to be almost exactly the same on someone I'm going to try it. Let's do snake versus blocks three two one and the OnePlus 8t was the faster one there. Actually I thought it was going to be it on the 12 pro, but that wasn't necessarily the case with this game. Gameplay with the speed comparison, three two one and I think that I won't be able to do it properly. Oh, that was another issue.

The fruit ninja on this one. For some reason, I don't know why it's fruit, ninja, always it's not to pay priority, 2, 3, 2, 1. And the OnePlus 8t again was seemed to be the faster one. There very surprising. Sometimes I don't expect these phones to be.

You know for the loading screens it looks like. Sometimes one is faster than the other one, but then they actually kind of compete and get better and in terms of these they kind of look the same. There Netflix three two one OnePlus 8t way faster there, my iPhone 12 Pro a little behind, not a big deal. Thank you three two one and for sure the OnePlus 8t was faster there again, the 12 pro behind for sure you know I'm starting to see quite a bit of difference when it comes down to these two. Definitely when it comes down to the speed opening, let's do BFA three two ones.

I don't know which one maybe the at I mean I'll. Let you guys kind of figure that one out cross road, three, two one and the iPhone 12 Pro- was definitely faster there, which is a good thing. So I guess gameplay wise is gonna, be about the same Quizlet three two ones. I think the OnePlus 8t was slightly faster there. Just by a little, we can go ahead and do real racing three two one now, hopefully I don't have any glitches come up because that I always have glitches, so it's probably going to happen and the OnePlus 8t definitely was faster there.

The iPhone 12 Pro still loading, not a problem and the 12 pro eventually got into it, so that one was for sure faster on that OnePlus 8t. That was quite a bit of difference in my opinion. Now that pretty much covers up all the apps that I kind of wanted to hit on, I mean I can go ahead and do like, I guess stack. I didn't do that. One three two one and to get into the ad was faster on this device, but this game was kind of.

I don't know these are tough, let's go and get into some gameplay, and it's going to be about the same. This is a very basic game, so I think to kind of sum up this specific speed comparison. I really don't know which one is the faster one. I think they're both about the same. To be completely honest, I don't think one is way faster than the other one.

This was also kind of like a quick one. I can always do a full one like a full crazy one, if you guys want to see it, but I think when it comes down to both of these, there were times that the iPhone 12 Pro was faster. There were times when the iPhone 12 was slower than this phone, so I don't really know ram management seems to be kind of about the same on both these devices, but I think when it comes down to it, if you're going to pick up one phone over the other, I don't necessarily think it's going to be based off performance. I think, if anything, it's probably going to be based off some other reasoning, maybe the display size or whether you like, android or iOS. I generally think both these phones are around the same type of speed when it comes down to it.

So in terms of that that pretty much covers it up now, let's go and hit on the cameras. Now, as stated before, you have a triple camera setup and a quadruple camera setup on this phone. The iPhone 12 Pro has 12 megapixel wide 12, megapixel telephoto, then 12 megapixel ultra-wide, with that LIDAR sensor with the OnePlus 8t has a 48, megapixel, wide angle, lens 16, megapixel, ultrawide, sensor, 5, megapixel micro lens and a 2 megapixel depth lens, and you can do 4k60 on both cameras, which is really cool. Now. I've said this before, and I'll say it a thousand times again, and definitely one of the biggest assets for OnePlus devices and just androids in general would definitely be the camera UIs.

You almost always have a way better features on something like an OnePlus 8t or any other android phone of that year versus the iPhone of that year. We pretty much have the same features about 10 that the previous version had that the previous version it's just the same thing over and over again the quality make it a little better. But it's like the same thing and that's why I really like these phones, the OnePlus devices. You have so many more settings. You have pro mode which just enables so many things, and you don't really have that on something like an iPhone.

Unfortunately not yet. Hopefully we get it at some point, but we still haven't gotten it yet, and I don't know what's going on with them, you can change the resolution, but that's about it. That's the biggest improvement we've gotten since then. Now with the OnePlus 8t again I'll do a full. You know camera comparison.

If you guys want to see it, it has a great back camera. I think for the most part you know, but I think there's also a lot of gimmicks with this specific camera sensor as well. I mean really the only functional camera on the back. Is that ultrawide sensor the macro and depth lens? I don't think anybody's really going to use them. I don't think really.

Anybody cares that ultrawide sensor and the lack of telephoto lens is very weird. We have it on the OnePlus 8 pro. We don't have it on this one, which is very weird. I don't know why OnePlus does that they give us a feature. They take it away, and they've done that before the OnePlus 6t or something had a telephoto lens, and now they only save it for the top tier phones.

It doesn't make any sense, but this camera quality is actually not bad. It's definitely good, I think, and definitely when it comes down to the features I like the features, but I think the biggest downside of the OnePlus 8t is that front camera. We have a 16 megapixel front-facing camera that can only do 1080p at 30 frames and I think that's a big deal for a lot of people. I use the front camera probably more than I use the back camera and that's a very strange thing with OnePlus did, I think if they switch over to 4k at 60 on the front that'll make huge improvements, but as of right now, I think the iPhone 12 Pro probably has a better camera. Not only do you still get that ultra-wide sensor, but you also get that telephoto lens, so you can zoom in a lot.

You can zoom out a lot and even though it doesn't have as many features built into as the camera app as an OnePlus 8t, you still get a ton of smoothness every single photo video. I take it's just a seamless experience, there's not a lot of features built into this camera like I stated, but the quality is always predictable. It's always really, really good quality for the most part and the front camera of the iPhone 12 Pro is better than the front camera of the OnePlus 8t you're. Getting that 4k 60 on the iPhone 12 Pro camera, which is really, really good. So definitely when it comes down to it, I'll definitely say the iPhone 12 Pro is the better camera sensor for sure the OnePlus 6t is a little behind, but I can always do a full comparison.

If you guys want to see it now, ending it off with the battery life, I'm probably going to tell you the OnePlus 8t has the better battery life here, it's a far better phone when it comes down to it, and it has a bigger battery life. You have about a 2800 million power here we have about 4 500 million power here and that's a pretty big deal in my opinion, you're getting probably far better battery life on the OnePlus 8t than on the iPhone 12 Pro, but I'll go ahead and test it further and let you guys know and do a full battery comparison at some point. Hopefully now to kind of sum up this video and say answer the question: should you pick up the iPhone 12 Pro, or should you pick up the OnePlus 8t? So let me go ahead and break down some. You know reasons why you may want to pick up the OnePlus 8t. It's a great build quality, it's a cheaper phone than the iPhone 12 Pro, which for a lot of people may be a big deal.

Pricing is a huge thing and for this thing being a couple of hundred dollars cheaper, it's a perfect thing. It feels kind of the same as the iPhone 12 Pro in the hand in terms of the premiums. The 12 pro may feel a little better you're, getting that 120 hertz screen, which is amazing. That's a really, really good feature about it. I love that a lot you're getting a pretty good camera for the most part, and you're getting a really, really good battery life, which is awesome and whenever you use a phone, you want it to have really amazing battery life, and I saw that performance was pretty much the same between the OnePlus 8t and the iPhone 12 Pro of course.

So there were some differences here and there, but there were a lot of similarities. Definitely when it came down to it now. The iPhone 12 Pro is the best iPhone. You can buy right now, and it's probably one of the best phones you can buy, but at a thousand dollars it may not be the best value. Now on this phone you're getting a smoother experience, I think than the OnePlus 8t you're getting better cameras.

The battery life may be a little worse than the screen may not be as good as the OnePlus 8t, but you are picking up wireless charging with the iPhone 12 Pro and IP certification. You don't really get IB certification on the OnePlus 8t, which is a pretty big deal in my opinion, and that's something. That's really sad. The iPhone 12 Pro it's a thumbs up for me in terms of the durability aspect, the build quality feels perfect performance is smooth, and I don't think, there's really a lot to hate on either one of these devices and for sure when it comes down to it. I think if you like, android go for the OnePlus 8t.

If you don't have a preference, if you have all the money in the world, maybe getting the iPhone 12 Pro or the 12 pro max is the better way to go, but I think the OnePlus 8t is probably a better value per dollar. It's just the lack of IB, certification and stuff. That really makes me feel weird about this device in 2020. It's perfect to have those type of features, and this one doesn't have it. So I think, in a lot of ways, probably the iPhone 12 Pro ranks higher than the OnePlus 8t as overall phone, but I think the OnePlus 8t is still a perfect phone at the end of the day, so that really pretty much covers it up.
