Hey, what's up guys, we are in the truck again gonna head to downtown Houston. I just got the new 12 pro and 12 pro max one Verizon 18t. They both consistently show 5g we're going to go try to find ultra-wideband 5g downtown on both devices sound like a fun idea, grand idea so wish us luck. Hopefully this video doesn't suck. I'm gonna actually give you guys some uh some speed tests on real 5g, which is ultra-wide band portico. What does that mean for a consumer like me, though uh where we live just south of Houston on a t, for example, there's a tower that I can see from my driveway? We get roughly anywhere from like 160 downloads up to about like 280 downloads, depending on the time of day and the day of the week anywhere from about 40 to 80.
Upload speeds got that on LTE, and we now get that on 5g, which tells me 5g is not much of an improvement over LTE, although when it comes to ATT's 5, 5g, plus and Verizon's ultra-wide band millimeter wave 5g, that's where the real speeds kick up a notch, so we're going to go find that for you today and kind of showcase some real speeds. We'll also do some speeds. When we get back, so you can see the vast difference between 5g and 5g ultra-wideband. So here we go and, like I always say, yeah, yeah funny. I don't think I sound like that when I say it, but you sure do you sure do sound like that idiot.
So how about we idiot all right guys, as you can see, 5g plus 18 t? Let's do a quick speed test. Just kicked off back to 5g. So not sure where the note is here, but we must be a little out of reach as it was in and out behind me, I'm just going to back up and see if I can get it to pop up again, the node might be behind us or might be around the corner. It's going to be around the corner. Okay.
So, as you look at the speeds here, these are just normal 5g speeds. It showed 5g plus, and then it switched over to 5g, so not a true depiction of their millimeter wave network uh the node, which, if you don't know what a node is the node, is what emits the signal. We're going to try to find that, so we can actually do a legit test, darn it all right, just recording driving. I am recording conversations that you should be recording to put on your channel. Well, that's frustrating that we had like a taste of it, and then it disappeared.
How long has it been babe too? Damn long, we've literally been driving around for uh yeah. It actually really hasn't been that long, or maybe I don't know no like 15 minutes. Maybe try still trying to find a little nodular guy that he's talking about on this garbage Houston streets. We can't even drive by the aunt center or the building whatever it was, and I didn't even have it there. So two different ATT buildings.
Oh okay, I don't always have it just office buildings. Oh, it's a stop! Sign, okay, flashing, red light. It's stopped! I understand that wasn't paying attention, though um, so we're still driving around. Hopefully we'll find it soon. We found out once we'll find it again all right guys.
Well, no luck! Finding a t, 5g, plus it popped up. We tried a speed test, and it kicked back to 5g. So a little frustrating we drove around forever. We're not done yet, but for today we're just going to do Verizon ultra-wide band, because we found a spot where Verizon has ultra-wide band, we're going to give her a go on the 12 pro and see how it fares. So here we go yeah, it's pretty fast, all right, so Verizon 5g, ultra-wide band, downtown Houston, or I'm sorry.
The Greenway area in Houston, 636, megabytes per second download 78.3 megabytes per second upload. That's fast um, like I mentioned, we're still going to try to find ATT's, 5g plus because it's not really apples to apples, because 18t is only 5g, which means it's going to get anywhere from like 20 to 80, probably download. Oh, it's like I can predict the future so again, not apples to apples by any means.39.4 download, 11.3 upload so again, night and day when you look at ultra-wide band versus 5g, and I will tell you if 5g is important to ultra-wideband is important to you, and you live in a major city. Verizon is much further ahead compared to ATT, as we've just proven by driving around the past hour and not finding anything from at t all right guys that wraps up today's video sorry, we couldn't locate ATT 5g, plus their millimeter wave spectrum. We did get some Verizon millimeter waves, so hope that helps I'm still determined to locate ATT 5g plus in downtown Houston.
We'll make this a part one of a part 2 series. So please look for the follow video, where I finally locate and do some speed testing on ATT's 5g plus, but until then, please like subscribe and share until next time take care peace out.
