Hey, what's up it's always me johnny, and today we are gonna, see again this iPhone 12 mini in this video, because I have to do like an in-depth review of the camera because, as I do for all the other smartphones, I just decided to do it also for this one and because it is an iPhone, it will be like a little different from the others, because for android we have different standards, and so you're going to see how it is in the video. So, let's start by telling you how many sensors we have on this phone, and so as you can see it right here, we have two sensors in the back and of course we have the front facing camera. So whole free sensors have like 12 megapixels, so no difference on the megapixel between the sensors, but the only difference that we have is the aperture on these sensors. So the main one is gonna, be the better one because it has like a better aperture than the other two, and this difference is much more noticeable in the darker shots, because if you are shooting in the night, maybe or maybe with low light, you can see the difference between like the main sensor and the ultra-wide sensor, because the ultra white sensor has a different aperture on the lenses, and so this causes much noise in the photos in general, on the ultrawide sensor and the front-facing sensor, it is one of the best on the market not for the quality, maybe but for color science, of course, and the images processing, because the images that came out from this sensor are very good in my opinion. So now that we introduce the lenses on this phone, let's talk about first of the photo site, and then we will talk about the video site on this iPhone 12 mini. So, as I said before, the main sensor has a better aperture on the lens, and it is actually f 1.6. So it is a good one, and the ultrawide sensor has an aperture of 2.4, that's great, but you can see the difference. As I said before, the colors on the lenses are very, very good, and I think they are very pleasant to the eyes.
This is, I think, one of the best color science that you can find on these smartphones right now. Also, here on this iPhone, you don't have like over sharpened photos like in the most of small sensors, so in the most smartphone sensor- and this is a very good thing- but on these sensors you don't have to try to like digital zoom any photos, because it will be kind of bad because they don't have like over sharpening, and also we are still talking about of this 12 megapixel sensor. So it is not giant, and it doesn't have like too many megapixels. So don't zoom too much on your photos, so all photos that I've taken in these days that I had this iPhone 12 mini- are taken in auto mode. So they are pretty much point and shoot.
So I just took the phone out of my pockets and just shoot some photos. As you can see, we have HDR on because I didn't turn off at all in any of these photos that you will probably see on this video and this. For me, it is a negative point for this iPhone, because if you don't turn off the HDR, the automatic HDR the photos, the look on the photos will be too much dramatic. I mean you will see these photos and I mean yes in some photos. You can see like clouds, you can see it very well, but they were not so dramatic.
I mean most of these days were sunny days, so there were some clouds, but they were like normal clouds, and here you can see it that it seems like it is starting to rain, or maybe some rainstorm is coming, and so I mean yes, the HDR is working very well because you can see on pretty much any photos. It is working, but on pretty much any photo, it is working too much. Maybe we can say, and so the results are just too aggressive, but anyway you can turn it off when you want. So just keep that in mind. Also, one more thing that I found useful on the iPhone, and it is the live mode because I just leave it on with every photo that I've taken these days, and sometimes it is useful.
So it is a cool thing to have it on the camera. App also another negative point for the camera app on this iPhone 12 mini. It is the fact that you don't have here the pro mode. I mean you have pretty much any other mode like panorama like a portrait mode like slow motion for video, but you don't have uh promote because probably the focus of this phone, it is not doing like profit because they have the pro and the pro max for this. I know that, but I think if they could leave it on this one too, it could be like interesting, and so this is another note to keep in mind.
If you are planning to buy this phone for taking photos or maybe professional photos- I don't know, then we can talk about the video side, and here we don't have too much to talk about, because we have very few settings to tweak, and it is pretty much everything on auto mode of course, so you can just set the resolution and the fps of your videos and these cameras are able to shoot up to 4k 60fps on all cameras, so the main one, the ultrawide and also the front facing camera. They are all capable of shooting 4k, 60 fps. But one side note here too, to keep in mind is that if you are shooting with 4k 60 fps on the back cameras, you cannot switch lenses while you're recording. I don't know if it's just a lack of power- or maybe I don't know if it's a choice, but you cannot switch it. I mean if you are recording in the ultra-wide lens.
You cannot switch it to the main lens while recording, and it is working the other way around, because if you are with 4k 60 on the main lens, you cannot switch to the ultra-wide lens, and this is somewhat annoying for me. But if you are shooting in 4k, 30fps and lower, you can do pretty much anything here for colors white balance and all this stuff. They are pretty much the same as the photo side. I mean we have the same lenses, and so it is not changing too much. There is not too much to talk about, but the only thing that I can tell you are that here we have like a little note on the white balance, because the white balance, it is a little too warm, and so it is a little towards the warm side, and I mean it's not too bad, but anyway you can fix it in post, but it is just a thing to keep in mind.
Of course, we have of course, stabilization on these lenses. It is working very good. I mean when you're shooting in 4k 60fps. I think it doesn't seem like there is any stabilization on the phone, but when you're watching the video in playback there is some stabilization. Furthermore, I don't know if it's something that I've just noticed but it's just me, or maybe it is like this, but anyway it is working pretty good.
So this is the important thing. In conclusion, we can say that for a phone of this size I mean look at that. It's very, very small price aside. We can say we have like a great camera overall in my opinion and if you are doing like occasional photos or maybe also you are doing some vlogs, and you're doing stuff to upload on social in general. I think this one is doing a great job.
As I said, I repeat that the color here are very good, the color science on these cameras, so I like it very much because they are very, very natural. I like to see these things and I repeat, they are very, very pleasing to eyes, and so, if you are planning to shoot something for social, as I said without like tweaking any colors or color correction or stuff like that, the colors- I repeat, they are very, very good, and this one it is a great piece of gear in that case, so this one was a very short video hope. You liked it. If you did just leave a like down below, because it will help me very much and also if you haven't subscribed already just consider doing it right now, because in the next video I will compare this phone to another android phone to see some interesting differences. So subscribe right now, so you don't miss that video anyway, I think for now.
That's it! So if I miss anything, if you want to know anything about this, iPhone, 12 mini just comment down below in the comment section, and I will answer to your questions. That being said, I think I will see you in my next video bye for now.
