Yes, with T-Mobile today we are unboxing the brand new, coming tomorrow, new to T-Mobile HTC U11 Life. Now, we're going to give a couple minutes for the room to fill. We got Vinny on cameras 1 and 2 there. Say hi Vinny. Hey. We got Nick on camera 3.
Say hi Nick. Hey. Nice. Awesome. Awesome.
Now come in close. Come in close. You guys don't need to see me. You need to see devices. So right down here Vinny.
Nick, right here. So we've got the U11 Life. We're going to unbox this guy right here. But in comparison, and to talk a little bit about design story, we've got an HTC U, an HTC U11, and then size comparison, that HTC U11 Life right there. And yes, they are fingerprint magnets and they reflect everything.
So sorry if you get my ugly mug in the phone or if you get Nick. I also just took the case off mine. I've been protecting it. This is a Griffin Survivor case. We've got lots of cases and accessories to go along with the U11 Life coming into stores, T-Mobile stores tomorrow on the 3rd.
I even printed out spec sheets here. Talk a little-- if you want to give like a nice gentle pan over all the info. We've got all the things now. The U11 Life will be part of T-Mobile's Smartpicks. It's probably kind of one of our leading Smartpick devices, and tons of great features.
And that's what I wanted to show. HTC does a great job of calling out all the features of their device. I mean, this is probably the most important thing we want to get across is, this is a premium kind of a higher end mid-tier device for about half the price of your high end smartphones. $12 down, $12 a month which is-- Vinny, come on, do the math for me, $300 when we're all done? Well, how many months? 24 months.24 months. Yeah, sure.
Bur even they call out-- HTC calls out Premium Device Half the Price. So many great features. Now, off the bat first off, let's take a look. Should we open? Should we do the unboxing? Did Yeah, let's get right in. Let's go ahead and get in.
Now, I went ahead and cut the security tape because we don't have a razor blade down here with us. You can see, it's calling out all the great features right there on the back of the box. Snapdragon processor.5.2 inch full HD. So that's a 1080P screen. It is micro SD card slot ready.
It doesn't come with the SD card slot. Nano SIM.3 gigs of RAM.32 gigs of onboard memory. Now, you lose a little bit of that due to the preloads and the operating system, et cetera. Things like that. Big one here, front and back 16 megapixel cameras front and rear, which is just absolutely amazing.
Lots of great camera features. Of course, it's got Edge Sense. And then it's IP67 water resistant. So IP67 is three feet 30 minutes for water resistance. NFC hearing aid compliant.
Of course it's got Wi-Fi. It's got a fingerprint scanner. All kinds of great stuff. Let's go ahead and open the box first off. Do you know if it has double speaker? It does not have-- so what we can do is we can show-- it does not have double speaker.
It's got one speaker port there. OK. We'll get to it in a minute when we do the full device, because there are some USonic and things like that are in the device. We had another question. Which version of Snapdragon is running on this baby? It is a Snapdragon 630.
So it's an octacore-- off the top of my head-- so I can even maybe read it upside down. It has octacore. It doesn't say the clock speed of cores but it is an octacore. Sp it's kind of the mid-range, which goes along with the device. It's a mid-range Snapdragon processor.
Really good. We'll do a quick demo though of like fingerprint unlocking. It's still pretty speedy. I'm pretty happy with the performance. Go ahead and pulling the box open.
There it is. And the big-- almost the reveal. Included in box, USonic Noise Canceling Headphones. So that's important, because the first thing people are going to ask is, does it have a 3.5 millimeter jack. Now, as HTC has progressed forward with its devices, it's slowly started to remove that 3.5 millimeter jack. These are active noise canceling headphones included with your device in the box.
You can always get the dongle from HTC's website. We're going to move on. All right, sorry to interrupt, but it seems like people are confused as to whether we're unboxing the U11, or the U11 Life. We're unboxing the U11 Life. And this is a roughly $300 smartphone coming to T-Mobile.
Some people are saying they've had this for months. And I don't think they're understanding. So that's true. And you know what? We'll do we'll do quick pan. So HTC U11, HTC U11 Life.
And to throw a monkey wrench in, there's even an HTC U here. I wanted to show the progression of their initial flagship, this big monstrous guy that was launched all over the world kind of except for here. So let's just get him out of the way. Move on to U11 which was launched a few months ago. Again, directly from HTC.
Not available from T-Mobile but works great on our network. And then now we get to my now fingerprinted up HTC U11 Life. Now, there's probably some great marketing explanation as to why it's a U11 Life. I like to say it's a U11 Lite. Premium device, half the price.
Great features. Beautiful screen. I'll go ahead and light it up. We're kind of circumventing the unboxing. You guys want to get that again real quick? To talk about speed of the Snapdragon processor, touch and we're unlocked.
And there's the screen. Check it out. Epcot. That's Spaceship Earth. That's actually-- so Danny posted this.
Danny. Super scientific. Posted this the other day. I was like Danny, I got to have this as a wallpaper man. And there it is.
So not from this device, but as you can see, beautiful screen, snappy performance, works great. Phone does look really nice. And so there's all the apps. I've got a few things. Now, this is my device.
It's got my stuff on on it. So sorry if you you see stuff that's on here. So I put some Messenger Lite and Open Signal on some other things like that. But as you can see, getting in really fast. I don't want to go into my previous call.
Let's go to maps. Who have I called lately? Where have I texted? There, you get the idea. So moving on. You see performance is good. Let's get back to that unboxing.
We'll set this guy off to the side for just a minute. So U11 Life. Another one. Wow, look at that. One that's powered on, one that's not.
So I'm going to just do the quick device twirl here in the package. I'm going to leave this in the plastic, and we'll come back to why in a few minutes. But as you can see, Sim card slot goes in the top. So let's use mine for this because this is going to be better. This guy's all locked up.
We're going to show you the front facing 16 Meg camera. Front facing speaker. Sim card and micro SD card slot. Volume rocker and power button on the side. One of the little details-- I don't know if it's going to come out in the live, but check this out.
Power button has a little bit of a texture to it. Volume rocker does not. Real easy to just move your hand up there. One of the great HTC features is you can always kind of tell where your power button is versus your volume rocker. Left side of the phone is nice and clean.
Fingerprint scanner right on the bottom. Look at that, boom, nice and fast. On the bottom, your speaker port and your USB Type C port. One of my little I don't love it, I don't love the USB Type C is off center. I don't know why that bothers me so much but I just don't love it.
That is odd. It is odd. It's off center. Speaker's in the center. This guy's off.
There you go. And 16 on the back. LED flash. Cool feature with the front facing camera, when you take a front facing photo and you turn the flash on the screen lights up. A good little feature.16 megs on the front. If you're a Snapchat user or things like that, if you're doing Instagram stories, front or back the camera's going to be great.
Great HDR plus type features or they call it HDR boost is what they call theirs. But great camera performance. Hey, can you go through the price one more time? $12 down, $12 a month, 24 months. Should round our right at $300 unless I'm mistaken. How's the camera performance been so far? So far pretty great.
Let me see if I've taken any pictures with this. I've taken goofy pictures of myself. Just take some selfies right now. Oh, that good looking young man right there actually. There's some nice Blue Steel right there.
Blue Steel. There we go. Seems like a lot of Blue Steel. Took some pictures of the box and things like that. T some stuff out earlier this morning.
Here, why don't I want to take a-- there's a watch picture. Why don't I take a picture you guys? Ready? Here we go. We're going to spin it around. Got it. All right.
Let's look at our ugly mugs. There we go. I see Vinny. Look at that, real time happening. And there all you guys.
You guys are all in here and here, and then right over here in Nick's phone, OK? So for YouTubers, you guys are Nicks. And we've got Android and iOS. We are a multi-denominational family here. We love all of our operating systems equally. All right, there's camera performance.
Let's finish off our unboxing. So U11 Life device in box. All right, Welcome Guide. quickstart Guide. Get got a T-Mobile Sim card.
Sim ejector tool. The good stuff. Earbud different sizes. HTC active noise canceling USB Type C headphones. USB Type C charging cable and data cable.
And then of course the wall charger. Makes it nice and simple. Looking good. So simple, easy in the box. I love it.
I love it. I love it. And then here, again, we talked about features. So we talked about Edge Sense. Let me show you what you can do with Edge Sense.
So for instance, I programmed Edge Sense that on a squeeze launches my Google Assistant. This is all-- this device and HTC devices, the U11 and now the U11 Life have it-- Alexa integration. So like, I'm a Google Home guy. I use Google for everything. Vinny, you're an Alexa person.
You like Alexa. Alexa right on your device. Your choice. You can even run both if you want. It's also got HTC Sense Companion, which is a-- it's kind of one of those smart assistants.
Less assistant, more like just kind of watching what's happening on the phone and saying, hey, you always check for traffic at this time. Do you want me to surface traffic at 5 o'clock every night? Things like that. We talked about IP67 water resistant. We don't quite call it waterproof because you know, never say never. Specs, we covered USonic with active noise canceling.
And then you can build your own individual sound profile. Really great. They also have high res audio built into the device. Camera is really good. I'd say pretty fast.
I wouldn't say the fastest camera. You need to be a little bit prepared in terms of focusing. There is HRD-- they call it their HDR boost processing that happens usually in about a second, slightly less, after you take a photo. But we're talking-- like I said, I call it a lite version. There we go.
There's the two devices.5.2 inch screen. And as you can, beautiful screen. Beautiful color representation. Great in hand feel. It's quite comfortable.
It's got a nice small size. If you're looking for a smaller device, definitely a great way to go. If you're looking for great camera performance, fingerprint sensor, all that kind of stuff, and performance from a Snapdragon processor. Now on our network, screaming fast. I ran a couple of speed tests this afternoon around the building.
Got between 60 and 80 megs on the down.20 to 30 on up just depending on where you are. People always say, oh, you guys are in the T-Mobile building. Of course it's fast. But takes advantage of our network capabilities. I'm sure the question is going to come up, is it 600 megahertz? It is not.
It is not. So we want to clarify it is not. But it's got carrier aggregation, everything else. Speed is not a problem. It's got band 12 which is one of our other cover solutions as well.
Great, great-- Is it single color? Single color. Yep, you got it. Sapphire Blue. There it is with all my fingerprints all over it. Biggest difference is I'd say is you've got a metal device so cool to the touch.
Bigger screen. AMOLED screen versus this LCD. And they call this-- I think they call it acrylic glass. It's plastic back. But it still has that same premium look.
Great finish. Makes the device nice and light. Great battery. What else do you guys want to know? We talked about three gigs of RAM. Three gigs of RAM.32 gigs onboard minus what they use for operating system and pre-loads. It's got the micro SD card slot, which is-- they always say up to two terabytes.
I think about 400 gigs is the biggest I've seen to date. Have you seen anything bigger? I don't think so. Not today. But it's kind of future proof in that way. Overall great device.
We're excited to have at T-Mobile. And yeah, I mean Sapphire Blue, classic. Can you just explain one more time because the Edge Sense kind of eluded some people? So Edge Sense, what it is is there's actually pressure sensors in each side of the device. So it's not touch based, it's pressure based. It's not touch.
So I actually have to do a little squeeze and there we go. OK. But you have to squeeze sides. It's not like it can go off in your purse. No.
And you can adjust sensitivity. So now she's talking back to us. So what I've done is I lowered my sensitivity because I had this case on. But the cases made for U11 Life are compatible with Edge Sense. So it's important to protect the investment.
If you do something like this Griffin case that we have, it's a Survivor Series case, all transparent to show off the nice look of the device, it still works with Edge Sense, which is important because you can program it. So maybe I like it for the Google Assistant. What's the weather today in Bellevue, Washington? It's cold here. Cold. And wet.
It's cold and it's rainy and we're not going to get any snow any more. It's not raining right now. I though we were going to get snow this weekend. We're going to have to watch. Here, let's try it again.
So we'll squeeze one more time. What's the weather for Bellevue, Washington this Saturday? That's pretty fast. Saturday's forecast for Bellevuw is 45 degrees with-- 38, got a little warmer. And you said you can use Alexa too? You can use Alexa as well. And you can program that in.
Now, in the training video for the guys that are with us from the front line we did squeeze to take photos. You can do squeeze to bring up an app. You can squeeze to bring up Twitter. Whatever you'd like to do. So it's totally programmable.
And there's advanced modes depending on how hard you squeeze. Different things happen and all that good stuff. Squeezed to tweet. I like it. Squeeze to tweet.
There we go. We should not tell John about that. No. Don't tell him. Don't tell him.
But great device. Love it. Easily your daily driver. Great Smart Pick from T-Mobile. Love having it as part of our lineup.
Available tomorrow. $12 down, $12 a month, 24 months. Should be about $300. Exactly. Any other questions from these guys? They all want to know if we're going to do a giveaway? Vinny, you're watching.
Who's been someone's been asking some good questions? I mean everyone's been asking pretty much consistently. Let's see. Well, someone said she has four lines. She's been a customer for 15 years. Wow.
We better send her this phone. Who's that? Reyna. Reyna. OK, we'll go-- Rayna, Reyna, you've been a customer. We appreciate you being a customer.
We're going to send you this HTC U11 Life in Sapphire Blue we just unboxed. That's why I left the plastic on. We'll send it to you right out in-- we'll send it UPS or FEDEX or US Mail or however the shipping department sends it. We'll send it to you. Thank you so much for being a customer.
I think we should wrap it up guys. HTC U11 Life. Vinny, Nick, thanks so much. Thank you YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, everybody. Go out.
Check it out tomorrow. T-Mobile dot com. Your favorite store. HTC back with T-Mobile. We're excited to have them.
This has been Dez. Thanks you guys. Take care.
