HP Chromebook X2 Unboxing and Review: is it better than the Pixelbook?

Hey welcome back everyone today, I'm going to do a quick unboxing, because some people like that of the HP, Chromebook x2, and then I'm gonna, get into a review after that. So make sure you stay tuned. So, let's open this guy up, pull it out here is the x2 white finish the tablet and the keyboard has a dark blue common navy color to it. Chrome sides on the tablet feels nice feels premium. It's got some heft to it, I think it's a little over three pounds. So, let's set it down and open it up, and you can see they put a nice felt here to protect the screen and the keyboard feels nice.

It feels premium. The hinge feels pretty sturdy on there. You can see for yourself here trackpads nice have to believe its plastic keyboards. They actually kind of feel like the Surface Pro type cover and then to get the tablet off. You just give it a Yank, it's magnetically attached, and you have yourself.

A tablet. Tablet feels great feels premium. Leave it's about a pound a little over a pound. They did a great job with the toe it. Just locks back in and closes up, so let's take a look at to see what else is in the box, setup, instructions and manuals, and you got your AC adapter and power, brick, it's a USB, AC adapter, and they also put in a HP stylus with this computer.

So that comes along with it, which is a nice touch all right. So, let's get into the review first, the specs we have again. This is the HP Chromebook x2. It has the seventh generation Intel Core, m3, processor, 32, gigabytes of storage, 4 gigabytes of RAM. It's got it's running.

Chrome OS has a twelve point, three inch 2400 by 1600 display, and then it has a five megapixel camera on the front in a 13 megapixel camera on the back. So let's talk about the hardware for a little. I'm going to do this in two different sections, because these are kind of two different components put together. First for the keyboard feels great. It feels like, if you've ever used the Surface Pro type cover before the keys feel almost exactly the same as that they're good travel same uniform click, Enos same kind of feel to them.

So if you've tried that these feel very similar, it's a very nice keyboard, the outside is covered in kind of this I think it's fake leather looks and kind of feels like real leather kind of texture, but pretty sure that's fake, and then the trackpad is plastic. It's its an alright track. Bed, it's not the best, but it's responsive. It gets the job done. The bottom is kind of a fingerprint magnet just to show you what I've used this for a day and can kind of see how many fingerprints detract and for some reason they went with this dark blue keyboard layout with a white tablet and it kind of I'm not sure I, like that.

Just kind of stresses that these are really two different components: smashed together kind of wish. They would have gone with the same color on both the tablet and the keyboard. But that's just my opinion. So the hinge on this keyboard is okay, and I have some pros and cons about it. First, the pros I really like the connection, it's very easy to connect the tablet to it.

It's got a good magnetic hold, and you never feel like it's just going to fall off things I don't like about. It is just in a lot of these type of detachable, two and one's struggle from. Is its just not strong enough to hold it in some positions? So if you, you know, try to open this with one hand, it's almost impossible, you know and if it gets close to closing, like even a quarter open, it'll, just automatically close, because the hinge isn't strong enough to hold out the tablet portion, because the tablet is just a little too heavy for the hinge itself. So just something you know to be aware of, like I, said, I. Think it's a good magnetic hold I like that.

You can flip it around and use it the other way. If you want I just wish it was a little stronger and a little less wobbly. So the tablet portion is where this product really shines. I, really like the tablet portion of this it's a little over a pound. So it's very lightweight, especially when you compare it to the two one features at the Samsung, Chromebook lineup and then the pixel book and the is Priya to see a from a sews those when you flip them around in tablet mode, you're kind of stuck with two and a half pound tablet which gets really heavy to hold.

This is really nice because you can detach it. It's a little over a pound, it's very easy and lightweight to hold great display. It's 2400 1600, just like the pixel book. However, it doesn't get as bright as the pixel book I have both of those and when I put them both on the brightest settings, the pixel book is a little brighter. But again this is just a's a great tablet.

It has two USB sees you can charge from either one of those it has a SD card. Reader headphone jack volume, dongle power button and then the bottom has the connecting pins to connect it to the keyboard, as well as the slots to also connect it to the keyboard. So the tablet by itself is definitely lightweight. However, when you add the keyboard to it, the keyboard itself is hefty and has some substantial weight to it, and it puts the whole package over three pounds, which is at least a half pound, if not heavier than the Samsung Chromebook lineups, and then the book and Seuss so and I have the pixel book and I can definitely feel a difference in weight between this package put together and the pixel book. So again, that's just something to be aware of the tablet by itself is lightweight a little over a pound, but you add this to it: it's over three pounds, so the cool thing that HP does is they actually give you a stylus in the package with the computer which the pixel book does not? You have to spend an extra $100 for the pixel book pen, the Samsung Chromebooks.

Do they have a? Give you a tiny little stylus, that's definitely not as nice as this one is, and the nice thing is that give you a little carrying holder here too on the keyboard. So you can easily slide this on, and you're easy. You can carry it around pretty easily and the stylus itself is great. It works well, there's a little of late latency to it. So I don't know if this would be perfect for like a artist that wants to draw a lot, but for someone that just wants to take notes, right, sign documents and stuff like that, this thing's gonna work perfect for you, so the camera is on this device, so they're there, okay I mean we're talking five megapixels on the front, so you know it's going to be good enough for web conferencing and that sort of thing I'm not gonna, blow anyone away and then on the back.

We have a 13 megapixel camera, and again it's not going to replace a professional camera. But if you want to use it to take quick pictures, it's going to be perfect for that. So what a lot of you guys are probably wondering is how does it perform and, if I'm honest, it's right up there with the pixel book in terms of speed, this thing flies around I've gotten it to slow down. Yet it opens everything superfast, it'll, just kind of run through some things and kind of just show you how quick it loads up, and I've compared this side by side opening up the same things on the same time with my pixel book, and they're within a half second of each other, every single time, there's really I've even tried to open up between 15 and 20 Chrome tabs at the same time and had a bunch of different websites open, and it just doesn't slow down. It opens up superfast, and I would kind of expect it to because I've used the Samsung Chromebook parole for a while, and this has basically the same internals and has the same processor, Ram, internal storage, and that computer was awesome, and it flew around, and so does this one, and it's as fast, if not faster in terms of gaming, I've downloaded a few games from the Google Play Store and played them no issues whatsoever.

They never stuttered, never crashed they played great battery. Life has been pretty good as well. I used it almost the entire day yesterday with work and playing games and doing YouTube and stuff like that, and it lasted over eight hours for me, so I'm expecting that to stay very good. So overall I mean this is just you know, a super-fast computer I'm very happy with the performance you can see here. I have probably about 30 tabs open I, just keep opening them, and they keep loading superfast.

So if you want a quick machine, this is definitely a good one for you. So now the tough question would I buy this computer, and it's really tough right now, because, as of the date I'm making this movie, the pixel book is $250 off at Best Buy right now, putting it at only a hundred and fifty dollars more than this computer and for the $150 you get a better processor, better or more ram. Double the RAM, a lot more storage, a better keyboard, in my opinion, a better tract that, in my opinion, better display a better hinge. The only bummer part is that you don't get a stylus that comes with this computer, so right now, I would definitely buy the pixel book for $150 more because I just think it's a little better computer. It's worth that extra $150.

However, if the pixel book is back at its ridiculous thousand dollar, when you're watching this video I would highly consider this computer, it's very nice. It's right up there with the Samsung Chromebook pro almost the exact same internals very fast. The only thing I'll have to decide is: do you want something? That's detachable like this? One is or something that's always going to be attached and flips around 360, like the Samsung Chromebook pro. The other thing is that this keyboard is a full keyboard layout, whereas the Samsung lineups have to trim the edges to fit their keyboard onto their computer, which is a little annoying. So just some things to think about, but, like I said it's the same price point as the Samsung Chromebook pro so, and it would be if the pixel book is back at $1000.

This would be $400 less, so I would definitely consider it at the at that price point so Bravo to HP. This is a great computer and I think a lot of people are really going to love. It thanks again for watching guys make sure you press that, like button subscribe and keep coming back for more videos, I'm going to keep pumping them out so appreciate guys watching, and we'll catch you on the next one.
