How to stop background apps closing on Google Pixel 3 / 3 XL / 3a / 3a XL - By TotallydubbedHD

Hi guys Tony Doug here and today, I'm doing a guide on a battery optimization on the pixel 3/8 Excel, but this will work on every single pixel device, specifically the pixel 3 series that includes the full-blown more expensive variants of it. Now why you've clicked on this video is pretty obvious. It's because you want to know how to prevent it from killing background apps. To give you a little of context, and, yes, you can skip it if you're not interested, but in terms of the context of it I play Pok?mon and I. Have this little Pok?mon Go little accessory? What happens is that when this is connected its vibrates, when you press it, and therefore you know, gets you allows you to pick up Pok?mon or whatever it might be. However, when this is disconnected, what you'll see is that the blue light just simply flashes, saying, hey and disconnected? Please connect me to your Bluetooth device and/or, the Pok?mon app.

Why found is that, after about 5 minutes or about 10 minutes of being outside the Pok?mon, Go app and let's say browsing the web by Chrome or listening to music via power amp or even having my lock screen, you know locking my screen and just you know, having the phone in my pocket. This would, after a while, just disconnect, and I wondered why, and then I went back on the Pok?mon Go app, and then it would relaunch the app as if it was launching for the first time such as like this. It's launching up for the first time, which means that the app wasn't really running and therefore was the pixel or Google had been killing the background app because it realizes hey, it's no longer an app that's being used, and therefore we should conserve battery now the most glaring it not say issue, but the setting that you can use is going to be in the battery section of the on the pixel, and you'll see adaptive battery and a new one that disabled that to me was the one. Oh, I definitely have to disable that, but that didn't actually solve my problems and the reason I'm making this video is that most people might not actually be aware. There's a battery, optimization section.

If you go in the setting and search and input in battery, the first thing will be battery optimization. You click on that it will come up to a special app access battery, optimization and then over here you'll have a list of your apps. Now the first tab is not going to be really useful, but it says not. Often Optimized you'll find over here the apps that you use the most, let's say, for example, Instagram messenger Pok?mon Go whatever it might be, won't be listed here and what you'll have to do is click the all apps one, and now you'll see all the apps, including system apps that are included on the phone. Then what you'll have to do is quite simple, find the app that you want, click it and press, don't optimize, then press done! You can always reverse this.

If you want by the way it doesn't, it's not an end all sort of option, but once you press dock, not optimize this app when opened for the first time, such as after reboot, will be running pretty much always unless you automatically close the app like. So that's pretty much it that solved. My problems prevented the Pok?mon Go accessory, disconnected meaning it was always connected and therefore always catching my Pok?mon. When I was pressing, it meant that messages from messenger WhatsApp Instagram would always come even via the YouTube map. When I got notifications, they wouldn't see, stay would continue coming even blue email were some emails were being delayed by two to three hours because they were just being conserved in terms of the pixels' battery management.

So that's pretty much it. Hopefully that's a comprehensive guide and gives you a little of background information as to why you'd want to do this again, that's not going to give you the best battery life, but it is the one that you're going to want to use such as myself. If you want those apps running in the background, so there we go guys if you go any questions, make sure you ask them down in the comments below if you liked this guide, give it a like subscribe. If you want to see more favor and share, if you feel that it will be helpful for certain pixel friends there, we go guys totally dubbed out bye, bye.
