All right guys, so here is a walking test with the Google Pixel 5a 5g. This is kind of how it sounds, and the stability is quite great as well on this pixel as well. Let's take a look at these flowers right here. You can see looking pretty good in addition to that, if you do want to go ahead and zoom in on something just like that, you can go ahead and do that, and it stays stable pretty much the whole time so pretty impressed with this overall quality, especially for 449. You would think this is a thousand dollar smartphone camera right here. It's pretty incredible! So what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology? Let's take a look at the Google Pixel 5a and do a review.
So, first, what you're going to notice right away is: is that black? What is with that color? It's mostly black, so it's actually got a little of a green hue to it. You could take a look at the 4a next to it, and this is kind of a very similar phone to the Google Pixel 4a 5g that launched last year and similar to the 4a as well in the overall design aesthetic. So it's virtually identical to the current pixel lineup. It's nothing like what you're going to see on the pixel, 6 and 6 pro series. So do keep that in mind for this device, but it's not trying to be a pixel 6.
It's trying to be a value-packed proposition. So what is really new if it looks pretty similar to last year? Well, what's new here is: it does have a larger overall battery capacity. The actual battery capacity on this does exceed the 4a 5g, and it comes in at a whopping 46.80. So it's about time. You're going to get quite a big battery life here on the pixel and being that the pixel is super optimized, for you know the Google OS and having the hardware you know we do have snapdragon here, but you get what I'm saying it's one of the better battery life phones, you're gonna, find out there.
In addition to that, you have the adaptive extended battery mode to give you kind of little more battery life and overall I found the pixel 5 to be excellent on the similar snapdragon 765g chipset, and I don't think this one is going to be too different. Either I've been testing it already, and could tell you it definitely lasts quite a bit of time, so a big sizable upgrade in the battery life now. The other thing that is new here for this is ip67 dust and water resistant. So that's a new one and on the back here you will find a very good camera system over here. It is the one they've been using for quite some time, but it does have 4k 60.
It does have an ultrawide 16, megapixel camera, so very nice as well. Okay, guys, so I'm not going to do a full unboxing here, but I am going to show you quickly what is in there it's just a fast charger, USB adapter, and you have your USB cable, sim card tool. Warranty guides stuff, like that, it's the same pixel as box, you've been seeing for a while, which is not a problem, and they're very nicely packaged smartphone. So I do think you will like that. So the first thing we're going to talk about is the camera system for this device, and I do have plenty of samples I'll show you them to you in a minute, but you can see you can go into 2x.
You can go ultra-right here. I believe this 2x will be software, based as it doesn't have a third sensor over here on the video. You do have the ability to go a little more in on a zoom, and also you can stay in the 1x. Now also you do have these different modes here, like panoramic photosphere and the Google Lens, which is pretty nice, but in video, when you go ahead and bring down this arrow from the top, you will see there is an ability to go in 4k at 60, which is pretty sweet, but only that you do have the portrait mode and Google's famous night mode. That can give you some amazing night.
Photography, including pictures of stars in the galaxy depending on, if you can see that from your location, wherever you are like now on the front, you do have yourself a very nice camera as well. It's an 8, megapixel camera and then the selfie camera on the front here is only capable of the 1080 video at 30. So you are making a little of a sacrifice there, but at least over here you can come in a little further and the angle is quite close to you. So do keep in mind. You have to extend your arm out or use a selfie stick, or something like that.
If you want to get a little more of an angle on this overall, this 12.2 megapixel camera, along with the 16 megapixel, with pixel shift as well as 4k 60. Recording it's a perfect overall package. I think for 449. Take a look at my samples and let me know your thoughts on this camera right here. Do here's some more video with the Google Pixel 5a 5g.
You can kind of see how it does perform out here, beautiful overall day out here. Very good quality I would say especially for the price point: let's go ahead and zoom in up on that horse up there and kind of see how far it will go, we'll go the full 5x right. There does get a little grainy at that level. But what do you expect for this price point? I mean it's pretty darn good for what they do. Give you here all right.
So let's talk about the body and the build of this phone right here. The Google Pixel 5a 5g does give you an unibody design fingerprint on the back, and it's really easy to fill out, and it's extremely accurate here now. You also have, on the side, do have this little button right here, which kind of has ridges in it, so you can kind of easily feel it out. So it's pretty tactile right there and the volume rocker is in a pretty good location. Now, if you like, smaller phones like the 4a, this one is quite a bit larger.
So a lot of people are comparing this to the 4a 5g. I think this is more of an upgrade over the regular 4a, because if you had this, you might be looking at this phone, and you are going to get yourself a pretty good overall sizable jump. If you want to see a full comparison between these two, let me know down below, but the Google Pixel 5a does have a 6.34 inch display. So it's a bit bigger there and the design overall does look a little more a series than the pixel 5. Now the pixel 5 just has seems to have a bit thinner bezels over there, it's just a little more sleek feeling.
So I would say that the 5a 5g definitely feels like an series version of this phone gorilla, glass, 3 on the front and the back and overall it's just a smooth, matte feeling texture. It doesn't pick up a lot of fingerprints, just a clean, simple google logo down there. It weighs 183 grams, so it's a bit heavier than the 4a, but it's not a heavy phone whatsoever. Furthermore, it's a pretty good size, but keep in mind if you don't like the 6 6.2 6.5. Furthermore, it's kind of in between, like a XL version of a pixel and a smaller pixel, it's kind of in between, but it's kind of edging more towards a larger phone all right.
So let's go ahead and discuss the display. Now I can tell you right now: I was able to see this pixel outdoors and the brightness is a bit better than I've. Seen on prior pixels, this phone is just easier to read than some older dimmer pixels out there. So I'm pretty happy with this OLED HDR display here now it is 2400 by 1080, which is pretty much in line with even entry level flagship grade devices. This thing does have 415 pixels per inch, which is up like 2 pixels per inch over the 4a 5g.
So it's basically the same sharpness. It is wrapped in gorilla, glass, 3, and it does have an always-on display. Overall, if you go into settings here, and you go to display here, advanced go down the colors. If you want a little more saturate, you can click boosted there more. Naturally, you can go natural that could dull it down a bit and one of the nicest things is.
You can really enjoy this display by all the beautiful wallpapers that Google does include in here. This is the one that will come out of the box. It's trying to show you that this is not a fully black phone. This is a mostly black phone with a little of hint of green, but overall, it's your standard affair. It's a flat, OLED display it's what you expect.
It actually kind of gives me more of a premium, feel I get this feeling that I'm using something more premium. Furthermore, it is a 60 hertz, but because the pixel software is pretty smooth, I don't think that's going to bother most people, and they're probably going to put 120 hertz on the pixel 6 series. So, if you're looking for that high-end stuff, you're going to pay a bit more for that and wait it out for that, because this one right here is going to give you 60, but overall, very good. I think value display for what you're paying for here, you're getting overall a pretty nice resolution, you're getting a pretty nice color saturation and while we're at the topic of display, and we're looking at this video, let's hear that audio. So what is up guys nick here helping you to master your technology? Google, Pixel 4a! We do have a punch hall right there.
Now I've had this phone, and you'll see stereo speakers, so we have one coming at the top and the bottom very loud. However, I would say they're a little tinny at the highest end on the box right there, so yeah this one right here, definitely giving you a pretty loud overall speaker. So this phone does ship with android 11 out of the box. But you know it's going to get the android 12 updates as well, and it does get pretty quick security updates. So it's one of the biggest draws of the pixel phone is better security than a lot of other android phones, because it is google's phone, so it will get more updates.
Now this Google Pixel 5a 5g software. What is it like? Well, it's mostly a Google flight experience, it's pretty similar to what you had on the pixel 5 4a. It's been this way for a while. You know you're pretty much used to vanilla android if you use the pixel, if you haven't before and use something like an OnePlus or other devices that have more vanilla, android you're going to come to love this one right here. They don't stack too many features, but they do put the stuff that you really are going to care about here on the day-to-day.
You do have the dark theme and all the more important features are here. One of my favorite here is in messaging. You can also get this on other android phones, but it's built right in here is the spam protection. So if I go here to spam protection, you can enable this, and you won't get SMS smashing text. Also, if you go down here to the phone, you can enable spam detection on phone calls as well.
So they do call screening on here pretty amazing, because there's a lot of people trying to spam call today and do this SMS phishing stuff as well. You know we already know about the email, but this is becoming very rapid, and it's a great feature to have on your phone and the 585g provides that other than that. Of course, it's android. You can lay your own launchers on it. They do provide you with a beautiful amount of wallpapers, as we talked about in the other section of this video and then, if you want to go ahead and tweak the home settings, you could do it like that right there as well, it does have the ability to rotate, so it has quite a few features.
I just don't think it's the most feature packed and, of course, androids has widgets forever, so you'll be able to get widgets right here as well very easily, so pretty customizable, pretty amazing for those of you who are into customization and also want a very simple version of android, you don't want it to be too complex. You'll love, d5a, 5g, okay. So what about storage? Well, you get 128 gigabytes of storage out of the box. I think that's plenty for most people, especially in this category of smartphone, for the price 128 gigs is pretty good. Now you can see right there.
This is something you don't find. Often on phones anymore. That's a headphone, jack right there. So that's pretty much becoming a rare feature. If you love headphone jack, you get it here with the Google Pixel 5a 5g, so yeah storage, pretty good.
This does have a pretty good six gigabytes of ram. It's not going to be your 8 gigs that you'll find on pixel 5, but it'll do the job. This has been showing me pretty snappy performance, I'm actually very happy with the performance so far, even though this is not a top tier CPU, this thing still does run very good and smooth day-to-day. So I wouldn't be too worried about performance if you're worried about that 765g and then discussing the phone call quality. It's been pretty amazing.
I've actually seen very good signal strength, I'm not going to say it's the best I've seen, but overall, it's been holding on quite well with the signal strength discussing the fingerprint a little. It's super accurate and while you have no crazy facial recognition on here, anything like that, this is pretty darn useful right now, in our current times, where we're still wearing masks in certain regions certain areas of the world. This is definitely a very good feature, and then you have the ability to bring down your notifications stuff, like that. You also get YouTube premium for like three months. If you do ahead, go ahead and decide to pick up the Google Pixel 5a 5g so anyway, I'm going to wrap it up here with this review, there's not much to talk about other than what we discussed here.
It's another pixel phone look at the pixel 5, look at the Pixel 4a, but how's it different. Why should you buy it? You should buy it if you have a 4a, and you want a bigger version of that. If you have an older pixel, and you want a good value price point, but you want more modern software. You want more modern feature set, go with the pixel 5 a5g, it's one of the best value smartphones that just got launched and even though it retains that classic pixel design that we've been seeing for a couple of years now, it does have pretty much everything you would need in a current modern slab style smartphone, the very good benefit of getting security updates more regularly than other android phones. So if you found this video helpful entertaining and forming, do me a favor click that like button for me and if you got one already, or you plan to get one share your experience with the community down below to help other people out to decide if this is going to be for them.
Thank you very much for watching nick here be sure to be well and peace.
