Google Pixel 4XL - Three Months Later

Hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech and the Pixel 4 XL l, has been out for about three months, I've been using it for about three months since Google actually sent me one a little early. So this is something that I carry with me every single day now I know. A lot of you may know me from my iPhone videos and things like that, but I carry an 11 Pro max, but I also carry a Pixel 4 XL, and I'm grateful that I do because last week, when I was at CES, my iPhone had terrible signal, whereas the Pixel 4 XL worked fine, even though the 11pro max said that it had good signal on T-Mobile. It still didn't work well, where the Pixel 4 XL was fine. It's on it's on project Phi, which actually use st-mobile and Sprint and US Cellular. Whichever is stronger, and the issue for me on the iPhone was not an issue with signal strength.

It was an issue with it just working properly on the Pixel 4 XL. It was rock-solid and in fact, if you followed me during that, show at all I, usually tweeted from this device when I didn't have signal with the 11pro Mac. So this was really a lifesaver in that situation and had great signal throughout. So that's probably a testament to the Qualcomm modem versus the Intel modem in the iPhone, and this phone was rock-solid. That way now the design after three months has really grown on me.

I really don't see the top here. It doesn't bother me at all over the forehead, and it's a little thicker, but it doesn't bother me at all I, like the kind of narrow vertical phone that this is. It fits really well in my hand, and it's very comfortable to hold, and the design overall is great, because it's sort of a plastic edge I, don't use a case on it. Furthermore, it's got this plastic sort of feel edge or soft touch edge with a nice smooth plastic back covering glass, and it just is really drippy. This way, I have no issues with it there, and I like the design where you can squeeze it.

Just like you can with the previous pixels, it's something I find that I use a lot when it comes to Google assistant, so I like that, the speakers are perfect and in general it's a great phone I like the design, except maybe the face on the camera, but the camera is good enough. That I can ignore that, and I'll talk about the camera in just a moment. Now, when it comes to Android, Android 10 has been perfect for me, I know, so people have had a few issues and this one is actually on the latest version. The January update I did a video about that not too long ago, but you'll see we're on the January patch, and while this was supposed to bring with it, some feature drop things. The one thing I'm not seeming to find is, if I take a photo, I can't really adjust the depth later.

So, for example, if I just take a quick photo here, I'll just take one of my keyboard. If I go into that photo, you should be able to adjust the depth. If we go here. You'll see it just has light color and pop, so I'm, not seeing that in anything that I've been able to use. So some of those features still aren't here for me, but they may be for you, but in general, Android 10 has been superfast.

You've got that refresh rate that speeds up to 90 Hertz. It's been great. It's super smooth and I really enjoy using this phone. Things like the camera open quickly, like I, showed you just a second ago, and the camera is something that I use regularly when I do thumbnails for videos if I'm outside. So even if I have my iPhone with me.

I use this for the camera because I like the colors, they seem to pop a little more. So if I slide in the iPhone here, we'll take a photo, and it's nice and fast, and I really like the way Google processes, these photos, it's nice and punchy. The contrast is good, and the detail is there as well. Now, when it comes to the video I find that I don't use the pixel I like the iPhone video better, so I go back and forth. Thankfully I can do that, but this phone is perfect with photos.

I put it in 16:9. That's the thumbnail size that that YouTube likes, and I take the photos with this. I can frame it well, and it's just really very good. The depth is great and everything else now. Of course, battery life was a big concern with this phone and while it's not as good as some other flagships, including the iPhone or say the S 10 plus from Samsung, the battery is okay I just charged.

This you'll see it's at 95%. So if we go to battery here, you can see that's the current battery state, 94% I would say I'm getting about five and a half hours out of it. The obviously I haven't used this for the entire day to run this down today, but it gets me through a day no problem when I was using it at CES. I did have to charge it throughout the day, I just charge. It at night and have no problems with it, so it seems to be holding up really well that way.

I never found that I had an issue and just in general, the experience has been rock solid. I haven't had to reboot it due to issues the last time, I rebooted it was when I flew back from Las Vegas with CES I reboot I shut it off then just to make it easier and not put in an airplane mode. Furthermore, I turned it off turned it back on when we landed, and it's been on ever since, so that was last Wednesday and recording this six days later, it's been on no problems, no reboots, and normally, unless an update comes out, I don't find that I reboot the phone, it's pretty stable, and I really have no issues. Now the Pixel 4 XL doesn't get enough credit in my opinion, for what it is as a flagship because I think of its price, the original price was so high that I think people didn't like it based off its features and the sold radar was one of those features where a lot of people thought it was a gimmick. But I use this for the clock.

When you maybe set an alarm here, and you wake up, and you want to snooze the alarm, you can just wave your hand in front of it. I don't find that to be a gimmick. I find that to be very helpful. So that's something I found that I really like after three months, I like how it wakes up with sunrise, kind of brightens, the screen and wakes up I, just like the little features throughout the phone, but that price is where I think a lot of people weren't real happy about this phone. Had this come in at about $6.99 I, think a lot of people would have liked it and would have picked one up and had no problems with it whatsoever. So, for me, I think it's still a great phone.

It's something that I think as you get discounts or as the price goes down as you've seen during the holiday season, or currently the prices are usually discounted a little now it's worth a buy, but then there are phones like the new S 20 coming out or whatever Samsung's going to call it and other phones that really are going to make. This has to be even lower in price, but we may see a new pixel for a soon and a more budget or less expensive oriented Google phone. So we'll see what happens in the future, but for now, I'm really happy with this, and I definitely recommend it, especially if you can get it for a discount. Now I'd love to hear what you have to say about it in the comments below do you have a pixel, 4 or 4 XL, or any of the previous pixel lines, to hear your thoughts about it in the comments below, if you'd like to get your hands on this wallpaper, of course, I'll link it in the description as I always do and if you haven't subscribed already please subscribe, and if you enjoyed the video please give it a like, as always thanks for watching this is Aaron I'll see you next time.
