What is going on everyone, so we've pretty much compared every single newer device to the pixel 3 Excel, besides a peso to excel, because I'm getting that in a couple of days. So our review is coming, but let's take a look back at the older Big Brother of the pixel 3 so which is the pixel XL the original one. Now, since I haven't gotten the pixel 3 Excel in hand, this is literally just going to be a quick impression, video not a full-on review, but once I do get it. I'm going to do a phone review, but this is pretty much to see if you have a pixel Excel shows you update or if you have neither which one should you get now, keep in mind that the pixel Excel is about a third of the cost, as the pixel 3 Excel I've seen some of these go for around 150 to 200 dollars even less than that. So this isn't really that expensive of a device anymore. Now, looking at them, you would probably assume that the pixel 3 Excel looks better because of the no notch and whatever, but dude I can tell you they pretty much look exactly the same.
The pixel through Excel might have kind of a bigger screen kind of little, but the not just really throws me off, and I really don't like that. However, the pixel excel has a lot of bezels around it, but still it looks a little more streamlined, in my opinion, doesn't look as goofy as the pixel 3. So that's the one word I would describe the pixel.3 excels, just goofy. Looking that doesn't mean it's a horrible phone there's a lot of things. Actually, there's almost every single way.
The pixel 3 Excel is a better phone, and one of the things you might not even know is that the pixel excel really didn't have any like water resistance or dust resistance. It might have like handled a little splash of water here and there, but really there it wasn't like didn't, have any IP, 67 IP 60, nothing. However, the pixel 3 excel is IP 68 dust and water resistant, so that is a humongous advantage for the pixel 3 excel right there. If you're an active person. If you go swimming a lot or I, don't know we're all around water all the time the planet is like 75% water, so you're bound to get water on it eventually, so having that type of advantage of IP, CCS and water resistance would really help you out, and I think it's worth it.
In that opinion. In terms of screens, though, we have a 5.5 inch, AMOLED screen on the pixel excel, but we have a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen on the pixel 3 excel. Now the resolutions are pretty much the same. It's a little higher on the pixel 3 Excel, because it's a bigger screen, but the PPI is actually a little higher on the pixel Excel, the original one. So is it fair to say that the pic, so Excel has a higher resolution screen or a better-looking screen? That's a tough one.
I will have to get the pixel 3 excel in my hands too, in order to test it. But I'll say both panels are good. The pixel 3 Excel might have an advantage, but it's kind of the PPI was lower. I, don't really get that now in terms of software. This is where the pixel 3 Excel has the advantage.
It's going to be prolonged in life. It's going to have a longer life than the pixel Excel. If you get it now, technically, they both last the same amount of years. But if you get the pixel Excel right now, I think you're going to get one more version of Android. Maybe you might get an to a 10-point.
I want it, but I don't know yet, whereas on the pixel 3 Excel, it literally just started, so you're going to get three or four versions of Android on it, and you're going to be first line to get it and the pixel Excel is kind of on the end-of-life right. Now it doesn't mean it's a horrible phone. It just means that within the next year or two, it's going to be pretty much phased out, but it had a pretty decent run in terms of Android phone, so yeah in terms of longevity of it. If you get these phones now with the pixel 3 Excel will last you much longer, obviously than the pixel Excel now in terms of the performance. I honestly never had a problem with the pixel excels performance.
I thought it was pretty good. Overall, in terms of the specs, we go from a Snapdragon 820 one processor, to a Snapdragon 845. We go from a quad-core 2.1 5 gigahertz CPU, to an outscore, 2.5 gigahertz processor thing. We go from an adrenal 530 GPU on the pixel excel to Arena 630 on the three excel weirdly enough, though, you actually had these same amount of RAM on both these devices, so you have 4 gigs of ram and that's really what surprises in the'm surprised. Google didn't push any more RAM on to the newer device.
It makes absolutely no sense because we had devices now that have like 5 6, 7, 8 gigabytes of RAM, and we have Google still using the same amount of RAM as the phone two years ago, and I was pretty surprised when Google use the same Ram as last year. I didn't even realize until now that they used the same Ram this year too, from the pixel Excel. That's insane and low-key Apple kind of did the same thing with the regular versions of their iPhones, not the plus variants, but the pixel 3 Excel has the same amount of RAM as a phone from 2016 and that's kind of strange, their own phone from 2016. So they really should have added the RAM there I'm at least one more gigabyte of RAM to kind of differentiate it. But I mean what are you gonna? Do you know now in terms of the cameras, it's kind of funny, because we go from a twelve point: three megapixel camera on the pixel excel to a 12 point, two megapixel sensor? So technically speaking, the pixel excel had a higher megapixel count than the pixel 3 cells.
But Maine pixels aren't at everything when I had the pixel excel I thought it was a very good camera. It was very capable he were able to shoot 4k and they pretty much future-proof did because it was a lot of software enhancements as well with the pixel 3 Excel. It's only SU point to be better. You know it's going to be a much better camera I'm unsure. If the pics excel the original one had an optical image stabilization, so I'll just throw that out there that it doesn't say it does, but it might, so I, don't want to hold it against it.
I will say that a lot of the enhancements at the pixel 3 Excel also brought this year is pretty much software based. That's what Google is saying, and they're saying that some of those software based features that the pixel 3 Excel is going to get the pixel Excel is also going to get, so you will be able to get some of the features that the pixel 3 excel has on the pink select cells. So if that kind of speaks to you just kind of keep that in mind, but it does kind of satin me again that we still have these same video resolutions as well. I mean if you have such an amazing camera. You can at least add a couple more video resolutions like forecast, 60 frames per second 1080p at 240 frames per second me personally: I'm, not even going to use those things, but it's kind of nice to have, because just because I don't use them doesn't mean other people are not going to use them and I mean iPhones are able to shoot 4k at 60 frames and a lot of other phone manufacturers have already pushed that, so I, don't know why they don't do it.
It seems like they're, just kind of reusing some specs from last year or the year before and just kind of going with it. It's kind of weird I know why they do that, but they're, not the only ones. Now, in terms of the front camera, it seems like that's the biggest push they did with you, pixel 3 Excel, and that's why it has that humongous notch is to hold another camera. So we go from an 8 megapixel sensor to 8 megapixel sensors on the pixel 3 Excel. Both front cameras are going to be good, but the pixel 3 Excel is going to be much better.
You actually have a wide angle lens, which is why the secondary lens is there, and it actually adds a humongous feature and I actually like that, a lot now do they have to make that notch that big I guess we're going to have to wait for a teardown or something like that for us to see it, but it seems kind of a necessary I think they could have made it look a little better I think the Nexus 6 looked amazing at a 6-inch screen almost bezel. It's not even really, but I have front facing speakers and everything and I really wish they took that kind of design. Language and put it on here. The Nexus 5 was amazing. The Nexus 6p looked good, and then they switched to this I, don't know why they do it, but I guess it is what it is now in terms of battery life.
This is the weird thing: I'm going to say that quite possibly the Google Pixel Excel, the original one will have better battery life than the Google Pixel 3 Excel, because we go from a 3,000 for 50 mile per hour battery to 3,000 430 million power battery, so they're almost the same battery size I will say, but because the pixel Excel is a little less under powered than the Google Pixel, three Excel, meaning it's less powerful it'll only make more sense if the pixel Excel would last longer if both batters were 100%. Now, if you're getting this phone used, there's a good possibility that the pixel Excel probably has a smaller battery, now, not physically smaller, but usually batteries, all right, I'm deteriorate, so forgetting this phone used now I'll probably say it's about, like 85% 80% of whether it was unless you get the battery change or you get a brand new, then that's different, but I'll say that, from my experience, I'll probably say the pixel Excel might last longer than the pixel 3 Excel, depending on a lot of variants. But if you use them the same and everything you might get better battery life on the pixel Excel now some other notable things to note. Both phones do have fingerprint sensors really, really nice. The pixel 3 cells does have front-facing speakers with the pixel.
XL does not kind of a disadvantage there. But again it's up to you whether you like it or not on the pixel Excel also has a headphone jack where the pixel 3 Excel does not, but they both use. USB type-c, though so, and that is pretty much it, and I'll say that I don't have a definitive answer right now, which one you should get because I don't have the pixel ring. So what I can say is I, don't think the pixel 3 Excel is like a three times better of a phone than the regular pixel itself based off the prices. So I'll say that yes, a pixel, 3 Excel, probably is a better phone overall, but I don't think it's three times the price.
If you don't have a pixel excel, you have like a Samsung Galaxy like s3, or you have like an LG g4. Something like that. You want to upgrade yeah the Google Pixel excel will be a humongous upgrade from those phones, but the Google Pixel 3 Excel will technically be longer ?, but just keep in mind if, if the software is one of those things, that's distracting you, and you don't want to update, because of that, you can always go and flash a custom ROM on the Google Pixel excel. That's always an advantage of going that route, but it's really up to you guys, and that is pretty much it if you want to pick up a Google Pixel excel, leave a link in the description, if you guys have any questions or anything leave it down in the comment section below hit that, like button that'll mean so much, but definitely hit that subscribe button, every single subscriber we get really does count.
