Google Pixel 3 Review IN 2021! By he1chy

My name is each, so I wasn't planning on doing a 2021 review of the Google Pixel 3, because, honestly, not much has changed from that six months later, video, but some of you guys have requested it, and these reviews usually do pretty well in terms of views. So I deliver okay, here's my review of the Google Pixel 3 in 2021. Now, let's start off this review with the battery life actually, which you may think is an unusual way of starting the review. But so many people have re have asked me about the battery life of the pixel 3.

So hopefully I can do a better job this time and realistically speaking, it's kind of its kind of okay. It's not super great! In my previous review, I said: oh, it's good, six to seven hours of screen on time, blah blah blah yeah. It's not really that, because that was when I kept when I kept it on my wireless charger, but now when I actually take it off charging the battery drains pretty fast, and I get around four hours of screen on time and in 2021 that's kind of bad. You know so keep in mind that this is a three-year-old phone and the battery size is only 29 15 William hours on this thing, you're getting a smaller phone and about the same battery life of the newer iPhone SC. Another factor that can contribute to the 4 battery life is the android 11 updates.

Now I didn't notice any drastic changes to battery life after the android 11 updates, but I feel like that, may still contribute to that, because battery life usually does decrease on a phone after it receives an update, it's not something I've tested, but that could explain the poor battery life, I'm getting on the pixel 3. So overall, knowing that this is a phone from 2018, the battery life would receive a b plus for the pixel 3. Luckily, the charging is pretty fast via USB, and this anchor power, brick I'm using not sponsored so at least you can juice up your phone pretty fast in about one two one and a half hours. The performance on the pixel 3 to this day is usually pretty good. Unlike the battery life and frankly, I have not noticed any slowdowns since I made that six months later review and that's pretty damn impressive.

Of course, the pixel 3 still does receive android 11 updates every year and a new pixel drop every month, which would for sure explain the good performance. I mean if you compare the specs on paper, a snapdragon 845 and four gigs of ram is pretty low end for day in a world of smartphones, with snapdragon, triple 8s and 16 gigabytes of ram, you may think that would perform kind of badly, but look at the iPhone. For example, they don't have 16 gigs of ram, but they're like the fastest smartphones today. So it's kind of the same thing with the pixel. Another thing to keep in mind is that the newest pixel, the pixel 5 pretty much has the same processor as the pixel 3.

In fact, the 845 on the pixel 3 on this guy is proved to be actually faster than the 765 g. Of course, you're not getting 5g in a bigger battery more ram, but the pixel 3 has stuff like the pixel visual core, which processes image taken on the pixel 3 much faster than pixel 5. So you can look at it this way, plus the pixel 3 is much cheaper, but more on that later, okay. So next up, I want to talk about the software, so of course, as with every pixel you're, getting the great stock android experience, which was one of the biggest selling points of the pixel 3, and actually even the pixel 5. But the biggest thing to keep in mind is that the pixel 3 is gonna, be getting this last android update this year and is no longer going to be getting new features and security updates.

So it is pretty sad, but look at it. This way the pixel 3 has been consistently receiving software support ever since it came out in 2018, so it came out with android 9 pi got the upgrade to android, 10, 11 and finally 12 this year, which not a lot of phones. Today do and that's what sets the pixel 3 apart from phones like the Samsung Galaxy s21 or the OnePlus, for example, or that phone where those phones receive this much later, and this one gets them immediately from Google. But even when you finally update to android 12, you still have the possibility to flash custom ROMs on this thing, though my experience is kind of mixed on that. So if you know what you're doing, then I recommend it.

But overall, I think the software support and the possibilities after that supports end is excellent on the Google Pixel 3, and I'm giving it a rating of an plus in my book. So to this point I have talked about the battery life, the performance and the software of the pixel 3. Now, what's left? Oh, yes, the camera of course. Personally, the camera experience on the pixel 3 and the results. I'm getting are excellent, no complaints here, but in 2021, especially the competition has pretty much caught up with the pixels.

Just look at the cameras of the iPhone 12 Pro the s21 ultra, like that's some crazy stuff. So when you compare those smartphones to the pixel 3, it's kind of tough, but keep in mind that this is still a 2018 phone with a single camera on the back and the fact that you can even compare it to those other expensive flagships, it's kind of hard to spend a thousand dollars or more on those phones. When you can get a pixel 3 use for about 200 bucks, so keep in mind that the cameras are great for what they are, but you're, just not going to be getting those extra lenses like the ultrawide, which I really wish it had, or a telephoto lens. Only the single 12 megapixel sensor. As for the front facing cameras.

Yes, there are two here: one is a wide and the other one is an ultra-wide, and they're, also pretty good so for the pixel 3's camera. Personally, I wish it had an untrod sensor, but overall no complaints here, giving it a rating of an for the last segment of the review. I want to talk about the display so, first, yes, there are these huge bezels here, but, as you can see, it has stereo speakers and that's kind of rare to see these days. You don't see that a lot and that's one of the aspects in which the pixel 3 stands out of the rest, but now for the display itself yeah, it is only 1080p, but it doesn't look bad at all on this 5.5-inch screen, the colors are pretty vibrant, and you can of course, change the look of it in the settings now. Resolution and picture quality is one thing, but there is now a trend in the smart world of high refreshes displays.

So I can talk on and on about how I wish the pixel 3 had a high refresh rate screen, but then again 2018 phone 60 hertz was kind of the norm back then. So you can't really go wrong with that, but that's just another thing to keep in mind if you're going to be picking this guy up and there you have it. That was my review of the Google Pixel 3 in 2021, but now, let's circle back again to the price and availability of the smartphone. So the pixel 3 was, of course retired by google in 2019 when its successor, the pixel 4 came out, but I managed to snag one on sale new for around 350 bucks on Amazon. So now in 2021 you can only get them user refurbished one bay or Amazon for under around 200.

So if I find any good deals on those sites, I will have links in the description. So for now I'm going to be keeping my pixel 3 for as long as google is going to support it, but probably even longer than that, and I'd advise you to do the same with your pixel 3.
