Google Pixel 2 XL hands-on review

Hello Gareth Phoebes here from Schrader to check out the new pixel to XR handset. Now this is the big one from Google, literally speaking, and we're here at the launch event to check it out. So this is the pixel to excel and, as you can see, it's probably the more flagship of the bones simply because the design is better. So, as you can see here, bezels are minimized, cost and often compared to the pixel suit, but it's probably the same League say they're for iPhone X or the essential phone. You know we want bezel heavier than some devices on the market, but it does have a six-inch, P OLED display, which, let's be honest, is very similar in terms of older technology to Samsung. That means it's quite clear.

There's a lot of resolution here, it's HD, but it looks a little blocky in terms of bezel, which is probably a little of a shame. However, in terms of the way the phone is designed, it's kind of plastic, identical rough feel on the back compared to the glass does feel. Nice doesn't maybe feel as premium as some of the more metal fully metal designs on the market right now, but it does feel good, but it is expensive. This phone is going to cost you at least 799 pounds in the UK, even Ohio, in terms of dollars in America, so you're getting paying quite a lot for this handset. But you are getting a lot of great features: you're getting the Snapdragon 805 processor, so everything flips along really quickly.

You can open and close apps with ease because you've got 4 gigabytes of RAM on there as well and the camera. That's thing: I'm most excited about the speed of snapping, very quick and the pictures themselves. They get this HDR mode as it is automatically, and what you get are these very really nice entry effects, just by going in straight away with the quality of the screen combined as well. You are getting a great effect now. Google has made a big deal about how this has got a DX Omar from 98, which is the best on the market right now, whether that bears out in real life remains to be seen, but we are going to get a very good experience in the camera from this.

The other thing you're going to see here is speakers top and bottom. Now that means, if you listen to music in the kitchen while cooking, or you want to watch a film and nobody else is around to be bugged, without headphones you're going to get a better experience. They'll comment, it's very difficult to test that in the tech demo. We are right now because we can't really hear them, but when you're listening to it, there is definitely some clenched out there and the direction of them is really great. You put firing forward, that's when you're holding the phone, it's not going to be too bad in terms of covering up those speakers at the bottom, for instance, what you get on other phones, you have also got squeezable side.

So when you squeeze in the phone you get the squeeze of your assistant, you can get to do different kind of things over all the Google picks or to itself does exactly what to be expected to do it's fast, it's nippy! It's got a big screen, we're not massive fans in the design in terms of the curved edges, with the extra bezel coming up and down here, but if you're into the pixel experience, which is just pure Android, an Oreo some sitting on top of it, you do get the best of all the worlds right here, and this is a well-made phone. It's got good camera on the back. Furthermore, it's not your pick. Furthermore, it's not Joule sense unfortunate, but it can do background. That's blur effect by itself using machine learning.

The fingerprint sensor feels like it's in the right place. All in all, it's a well-made foam. It's expensive, they've, listened phone for you that you probably gonna, find a lot to like here. As ever, we've been tech radar enjoying bringing you the latest information about all the greatest phones, and we're here at the Google launch event. To tell you about all the products that Google is launching thanks for watching you, you.
