Google Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL Unboxing by ProClip USA

Go: go: go, go coke dope! Is it unboxing time already all right, we're going to start off with the pixel two, which is the smaller, the pair again good quality box. The days of bad boxes are behind us, which good riddance to that set. That aside, there's the phone actually kind of odd the camera is facing upwards. Just take the phone out we'll set that aside, there tray set that aside, what else we got. Okay, literature, of course, that gets thrown on the floor. We got a like Samsung, does a USB, a2c adapter and there's the power cord uh-oh.

What is this? It's a USB seed, a headphone, which means this phone doesn't have a headphone jack dang it and charger. That's what's in here! Alright, we'll set that aside and now the plastic is kind of matte, so I don't think we're going to get a satisfying peel off of this one, no darn it and there's the phone. Alright. Of course, there is a second phone which is the pixel to excel like last year. It's the bigger version, so just open add up quick I'm expecting everything's on the same.

Yet there's a phone camera upset that aside just take a quick gander here, yep all the same stuff in there, so I'll just set that box aside and then, and we'll peel the plastic on this one. Oh, it's already peeling for us bad job on the plastic. Both these phones share the same specs and features except for the screen size and the battery size which we'll talk about in a minute. So let's get a quick walk through here we got the volume rocker power button. Of course, fingerprint readers on the back along with the camera the flash over here we got the SIM tray and as you'll notice, top and bottom no headphone jack so either need Bluetooth headphones or you have to use the included adapter all right.

Let's get them turned on here, so we can see the difference, and you notice side-by-side. It's pretty obvious. What the difference is. The pixel 2 is a 5-inch screen. The pixel 2 XL is a 6-inch screen and whereas the pixel 2 is using the same 1920 by 1080 16 by 9 aspect ratio.

As last year, the pixel 2 XL switched to the same 2880 by 1440, screen that the LAB 30 is using, which is an 18 by 9 aspect ratio. So it's a little taller than this one is, you know comparatively, and you can see one of the big differences, the size of the bezels they're, quite a bit bigger on the smaller phone, which means the pixel 2 has a screen size to body ratio of 67 0.92%, not that great. In today's market, the pixel 2 XL has 76 0.66% screen to body ratio. So it's a little better. It's trying to follow the trend of small bezels and, unlike last year's phones, these are both ip67 water-resistant.

That means they can be in up to a meter of water for up to 30 minutes. So if you wash them off in the sink or drop them in the toilet, you'll be fine if you drop them in the deep end of the pool, maybe not so much. The other big difference between the two is the battery size. The pixel 2 has a 2700 mil amp hour battery. The pixel 2 XL has 35:20, that is an odd number 35 20 William hour battery and, of course they are both using the Snapdragon 835 processor, which pretty much every high-end smartphone on the market is using these days and they both start at 64 gigs, with an option to go up to 128 gigs, which you might want to consider because being Google phones, they do not have SD card slots, so those specs are pretty similar to every other flagship phone on the market.

So what makes the pixels the belle of the ball? Well, like every other Cinderella hopeful out there, it's the camera. Last year, Google submitted the pixel to the website, DXO mark. If you know anything about them, they review cameras very in-depth, and they started doing phones. The pixel last year got an 89, which was unheard of at the time that has since been beaten by the note 8 and the iPhone 8, which got 94 this year. The pixels got a 98 from DXO mark which, according to them, makes them the best smartphone camera on the market.

So what makes a camera so special? Well, if you take a look at it, they've kind of bucked, the trend- most phones have switched to a dual camera setup. Google has stayed with a single lens according to them that allows them to focus on the pure quality of this one sensor, which is a 12 point, two megapixel camera. It offers portrait mode which isn't quite as good as the iPhones, but is good enough. It has an aperture size of 1.8, which isn't quite as good as the LGA 30, but is good enough. But the big thing this year is they've added optical image, stabilization to both phones.

Last year they relied on electronic stabilization, which wasn't perfect enough. After the s8 came out and the node eight came out and the iPhone 8 came out, and they all had optical image stabilization. So all those specs I, just read off, don't seem so great. What makes these cameras a 98 from DXO mark? Well, it's Google. Software Google is the king of software at the king of AI machine learning.

They have put that magic into these phones. The camera is designed so that when you snap a photo, the camera actually takes up to ten pictures at once and then uses Google's magic software and by their powers combined makes one amazing photo just a couple of days before we shot this video Google announced a little secret they'd been hiding in a pixel. They didn't announce this during the actual phone announcement for who knows why, but the pixels are hiding a second little system-on-chip inside there, which means there's a second processor, a second set of RAM, a second memory controller. All that jazz is in there. Nobody knew about it, it's currently dormant, but they just announced that they're, calling it the pixel visual core which, when they release Android 8.1, that chip is going to turn on, and it's designed purely to process photos. So they're thinking is the pixel visual core.

When it turns on will process all those ten photos. Every time you take a picture up to five times faster and at one tenth the power needs of the main system. Processor. That's in here, so the phones are going to get even better in just a couple of months. The second feature is an always-on screen which, if you've had a Samsung phone in the past few years, you'll know they've been doing this for a while, but Google's jumped into the game you can see.

The time is on I've got a little notification that I got an email there, but one key feature that they're advertising with the always-on screen, which is a little piece of Google magic. The phone will listen if there are any songs playing in the background, and it'll show you on this lock screen the artist and the name of the song. Without you even having to ask the phone, and apparently it does this without data connection, they advertise that no conversations or sound bites will ever be sent to Google. The phone keeps a record of 17,000 plus songs on it. So if one of those song is playing near you, the phone's going to know and tell you what the song name is, so I think that's pretty sweet.

The last big feature is the squeeze feature, so Google has built some sensors into the sides of the phone here. If you give the phone to squeeze the Google Assistant pops up- and you can see it's listening to me right now- so that's pretty sweet. It's got unlike the big speed button on the Samsung phones. You can remap that as well, so you can remap it to be just a silencing feature. If your phone is ringing, you give it a squeeze, and it stops and of course now that we have the phones in hand, custom pro clip device holders won't be too far behind.

However, if you're, using a small case like this tech, 21 check out item two four six, eight to seven, if you're, using a more rugged case like this Letterbox Defender check out two four six: eight five zero those numbers work for either phone I'll, see you guys. Next time has a great day you Oh Go, Go, Go, Go I mess it up that time. Huh, he's going to need a bunch of I, wasn't ready for that. One well I can't even open this box. It's so this box is so good I can't even open it.

I am pro clip. Greg I get my own office. They both use the snap and another piece of gule wilt. How do you say it like boiled? Goo boiled foul sides of the phone here, a little: people bye, Baby, Brother, hey beef, a bit Abbey of court messed up the first take on the first word.
