So, what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology, galaxy s21, ultra versus iPhone 12 Pro max speed test, let's begin with a boot up in three two one and see which one can get there first now keep in mind. These are both rocking five nanometer chip sets the Samsung Galaxy. S21 ultra has snapdragon 888 12 gigs of ram and also has android 11 one UI 3.1 over here we do have the Apple A14, bionic, chipset, five nanometer six gigabytes of ram. This also has iOS 14.4 on board. So man look at this. The iPhone 12 Pro max did boot up faster than the galaxy s21 ultra.
Let's get on to the next test. Okay, so, let's head into our first benchmark, which is going to be 3d wildlife. Now, if you haven't seen my latest speed test, I've been switching it up to the more powerful stuff, as phones are getting so fast. Opening apps doesn't always equal the best way to show how fast these new, more powerful phones are, but we're going to go ahead and hit start. But let me know if you want to see more of that, because I will consider bringing that back and involving it with this type of speed test as well.
If you still want to see the app openings, but at this point you know these phones are getting really fast, and they're like identical. They don't really make a difference in that point anymore, but these benchmarks, like this, do typically show how much frame rates they can hold, and things like that, so I'll be back when this benchmark is done. Okay guys, so you can see that the galaxy s21 ultra this is the unlocked. Us model did score. Five thousand five hundred and ninety, with average frame rate of thirty-three point: five: zero.
Now it says it's ninety percent, better from all other devices down here you can see the battery dropped, one percent, and it frames rate average between 24 fps and 41 fps. Now the iPhone 12 Pro max outscored this by a significant margin, 89.99 53, fps average frame rate, only dropped one percent in the battery life, and if we take a look at this frame rate 35 to 69, this one had 24 to 41. So actually a substantial victory here in wildlife for the iPhone 12 Pro max. But remember these benchmarks, don't say the story: it's how they use that power. The s21 ultra definitely uses its power much more than the iPhone 12 Pro max, and that has all these features split screen modes.
All the stuff you can do with it definitely take better advantage than the iPhone do we're going to go ahead and hit geek bench 5, but the iPhone does usually have one of the better chips and with iOS is efficiency. It's really hard to beat that. So you know you do have perfect competitors here. We're going to go ahead now and run the CPU benchmark in geek bench, and you can see over here, 14.4 clocked at 2.99, gigahertz outscore, snapdragon 888. You can see we are in the 1080p mode.
The way it comes out of the box, arena 660, let's go ahead and hit run, benchmark, and I'll be back when they are done all right guys. So we got our final scores, and they're not too far off. You can see that the 1606 on the iPhone does beat out the 1129 and the 4182 does beat up the 3407, and this is one of the fastest android phones. I've ever seen completed geek bench 5 test, but the iPhone wins it out in this benchmark as well, not really surprised by these results, but let's head over here into PUBG mobile and see which one can load this game up. First now, historically, the iPhone has boot up faster, because you know it kind of just seems like the games are a little better optimized but Samsung in the lead right here, and you can see that it looks like it might be, taking down the iPhone, and it did.
It beat the iPhone to load up PUBG mobile. I can tell you right now, though, that besides the benchmarks, you know this s21 ultra is definitely offering up. Quite a bit of you know, features and performance and all this stuff- it's its really sitting on top of the food chain right now, especially in the smartphone industry. So you can see the iPhone now wins to get to the match, but overall you're going to enjoy these games very similarly on both of them. Now, let's go ahead now and head into motor combat, and did you notice in the speed here of closing the app Samsung has fixed that thing where it kind of would hang on the edge? I love that let's go into Mortal Kombat for one UI three.
They fixed that so a lot smoother now, let's get into motor combat, and it looks like the iPhone in the lead. But let's not be so sure here, because sometimes the other phone could just come back and just win this test. So you can see we're about to get in this game, and it looks like the iPhone will load this up. First, this could be game dependent. Some games might load faster for android, but this is so close.
You can see Samsung caught right up here. So again you might be trading. You know bragging rights for a little of a faster CPU, but you have a lot to talk about. If you want to brag about the feature set that you get for the galaxy s 21 ultra, so this might not be the biggest deal for you, so we're going to go over here into safari, and we're now going to run a WebKit and see which one can do a little faster of a refresh in safari versus Samsung's, internet and uh. This is pretty close.
You can see only difference in a few seconds so far and the iPhone finishes with 89 ms over here and then the Samsung phone. We might have to run. That again looks like it didn't give us the actual score, so we'll be back with that in a second but 89. Ms, that's incredibly fast for a refresh on a browser, but man I got to tell you both of these phones with the 5g are just insane and Samsung refreshes it here at 350.3, ms. So this is probably showing a little that you know.
Safari is a bit more optimized for the hardware and software, but still both of these fly through web pages they're, both very smooth and with their 5g. They both have great mobile performance. We're going to go over here now to premiere rush, and we are going to render out this video really quickly here, just to see which one can do a better job here now when in timelines, when editing you're going to notice very smooth performance- and you have s pen compatibility here- so you can edit a lot more easy for the galaxy s21 ultra. Let's go ahead now and export both of these files they're both at 90 megabytes, we'll go ahead and export them and see which one can finish this task. First, you can see Samsung at 10 wow.
This CPU was just blazing through over here on the right, but this is still not a slow performance over here on the left. Definitely very quick as well, but this is whoaed, that's pretty insane, so I'm not sure how much faster it would get as the videos get longer. But you can see right here definitely behind here on a video edit right here and again certain applications. It might be a little faster certain videos. It might be a little faster.
So there's a lot of variables here, but apple definitely won this one out for the premiere rush when it comes to finishing out that quick video render okay, so we're going to test out the 5g to see which one can pull in better 5g speed. We'll hit go here, we're doing this in speediest. net. Now, I'm not sure how fast it is I haven't tested in a while, but I typically I'm not getting the fastest 5g. This is T-Mobile's 5g and uh yeah right now, I'm not getting the fastest in the world, but we'll just see if it does a little better, which one does a little better with these scores, so you can see we're getting 25.6 as of where I'm at right now download, and we're getting 14.73 yeah. This is not the thousand megabytes you're seeing on commercials, but definitely pretty decent, pretty quick.
I remember when phones were getting like three or two megabytes download, so it's pretty good all right. So now we're on 5g for the iPhone 12 Pro max, we'll hit go here and see if it can beat the 25.6 on the download in about 14.7 on the upload, and you're. Seeing that doesn't look like it's, maybe it's going to tie it wow, pretty close here, maybe beating it out on the download okay, so we're going to get around 28 down. So that beats that's 21 ultra here in this quick. You know unscientific test here again network dependent, but this is showing you that the iPhone now can keep up when it comes to the mobile performance to the Samsung phones.
It was like in the past, where Samsung was just crushing them every time in the performance on mobile from in my experience, but still this is no major victory. This is pretty close again network dependent. We were on the same server, but I will state that either way you go here, you're getting a beast performer. I think that the iPhone is technically faster with the chipset. But again it's like the same story.
Every year. I feel like I'm repeating myself every single year when a new Samsung flagship comes out versus a new iPhone flagship. The iPhone has a technically faster chip, but you have way more features and way more ways to take advantage of it with the Samsung device and these cameras. Let me tell you, are amazing: I'm really going to test these out and see if they can beat out these cameras, but so far, they're looking really, really good. So it's just going to come down to user preference, because the honest truth is that if you never watched this video, or you didn't compare these side by side, you wouldn't care.
You probably wouldn't even think about this. You probably would just say I love the features I have on my Samsung phone. I don't want an iPhone, or I love my iPhone and I love the features on the iPhone. I like the iOS experience, and I just don't- want a Samsung phone so either way you go you're, probably going to be pretty happy with these phones so thumbs up. If you enjoyed the video subscribe, if you haven't already- and let me know what else you want to see going forward on the s21 series, it is the latest and greatest, and I'll catch you all in the next episode nick here and peace.
