Hey guys suck air from sake, taking it today's video, what we do is we are gonna, be comparing the Samsung Galaxy Note m+ to the Samsung Galaxy s, 20 altar, the biggest question I'm, getting from all of you guys is, should I upgrade from the note m+ to the s20 ultra. So in this video, we're going to take a look at the build the design, the screen size, screen, quality, we're gonna, look at every aspect, including the cameras, the software, the biometrics and the processor and, at the end, give you a precise conclusion or on whether you should upgrade from the 10 plus to the s20 ultra. So, let's dive in real, quick and start with the build and the design. Now real, quick before we dive in I, do want to quickly disclose that this is a replica s20 ultra model. It's got the same specifications and the same exact overall design of the real retail version, except for the camera module at the bottom. It's going to look a little different now, as you can see, the overall sizes of these smartphones is exactly the same.
The s20 ultra is only slightly larger, but the overall footprint is almost equal, as you can see. Let me just put them exactly side-by-side. So you'll see it's just a tad bit larger on the top over here and that's because it does have a larger screen which we'll be talking about in a minute, but real, quick, the build quality. This phone is built with Gorilla, Glass, 6, ok, front and back same situation applies here. Build quality is exactly the same as far as the glass is concerned.
Now, when you look at the rim around the edges of the device, this one is going to have stainless steel around the body and this one actually has aluminum okay. So that's the slight difference. As you know, stainless steel is slightly more durable than the aluminum construction and the other big thing that people are were wondering about is the headphone jack. So obviously, both of these phones are the same when it comes to the ports. If you look at the bottom, knee has a headphone jack.
Both of them have the USB type-c port in the middle, the speaker, grille, okay at the bottom and the microphone hole next to the USB type-c port and of course they know.10 has that magical s-pen! That's the extra you get with the note series. Both phones also have dual stereo speakers, while at the bottom, as you can see and want at the top built into the earpiece they're gonna, be exactly the same quality, not a major difference. Now let me flip the phone over and real quick, just look at the front. Okay. So let's put this over here by the way I have this cloth here, so the phone doesn't slide.
It does slide because it has protection over it. So that's why that cloth is there okay? But when you look at the front of these screens, let me just login to this one. If you look at the front, basically, we have again the same design. The display quality is gonna, be exactly the same. Both phones are gonna, have a cutout on the top for the camera.
Now the one thing with the camera we're gonna, be talking about the cameras, the rear cameras in a minute, but the front camera on this one is 10 megapixels the front camera on this one is gonna, be 40 megapixels, so definitely there's going to be a boost in quality when it comes to the frontal camera screen size, six point: nine inches, six point: eight inches, not a big deal. Okay, the screen size or the screen quality is not gonna, be a factor when you upgrade when you decide or think about upgrading from one form to the other. Both screens are dynamic, all that displays, and they're the best Samsung has to offer now, even though the screen size and the screen quality is almost the same. There's one big major difference and that's a refresh rate I'm going to be talking about that towards the end of the video. For now, let's move on, but that's going to be a major factor also in deciding to upgrade so keep watching.
For that now. One more thing you want to hear with these phones is, if you look at the corners, all four corners, the ones on the s20 ultra are more rounded than the note 10 note.10 is a little more squarish smartphone. This has a more professional look. While this one is a little more playful. Now.
Let me flip over again and quickly talk about the actual cameras. Do you know all the details about the cameras to make the actual comparison? Okay, so this one has four cameras. This one also has four cameras, but the cameras are dramatically better in this case and that's one key aspect: you're gonna, look at when you decide to upgrade from one phone to the other. Camera is gonna, be the main focus. So let me tell you real quick.
What's going on over here, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 for cameras. Now, let's get the simple camera out of the way we do have a depth vision, camera which is designed to give you better background blur when you take photos and videos. So that's not a big deal, but then what we have is we have an ultra-wide camera which is 12 megapixels. Then we have a 12 megapixel main camera, and then we have a telephoto camera over here. So we have super wide.
We have regular wide, which is what most people use, and we have the telephoto camera on this guy again we have a depth vision, camera which is right here and that's the same one as these two dots over here. You got two dots here, that's the flash! That's the flash! Okay now over here. What we have is. We have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide camera, just like this one, but it's going to be better quality because the sensor has been upgraded, and then we have the major upgrade the 108 megapixels primary standard, wide-angle camera over here, which also comes with a larger, upgraded sensor. The sensor is under the camera, okay, and in this case it's going to be larger.
In this case, we have a smaller sensor, so the quality of the images is simply going to be better on this product, whether it's low-light sharpness or detail of the actual photo. Now at the bottom. We have another magic. Now this is only available again on the s20 ultra. We have an optical camera that is able to zoom in 100 times.
That's not optical zoom, that's going to be hybrid. With this one, you can only go up to 10 times, hybrid zoom, with this one, it's going to be a hundred times hybrid zoom. So the cameras going to be a main focus going from here to here, you're, getting a massive upgrade, the camera structure. The options are the same, but the quality increases with this guy. Okay.
So that's the camera. Let's move on and talk about the software really quickly. Both phones offer the exact same software experience now I'll, let you know in this instance. The note 10 is slightly ahead, because the note 10 has the S Pen right here. Okay and S Pen has all these functions that you're never going to find on the Samsung, Galaxy S series of smartphones.
You can create notes, you can draw, you can write, you can sketch, and then you have cool things like smart select that allows you to use the pen to select it. On top of that, if you go into the settings, let me just go down over to advanced features. You can use the S Pen as a remote control to control your smartphone via air actions. Alright, and you have all these S Pen options, that's a complete extra suite of functions finds on the S Pen. Now both phones are going to be running Android, 10, 1, UI 2.0, but on this one you've got the extra suite or functionalities. Thanks to the s-pen and again that's one thing: people are gonna, be looking at when they're trying to decide to upgrade from this one.
To this one do I let the S Pen go or do I keep it for the gaze I get in the camera. Department, ok! But let's move on and quickly talk about biometrics. Now both phones have gonna. Have the exact same biometrics options the primary way to login is gonna, be a fingerprint sensor right here. Boom fingerprint sensor boom same situation right here both have facial scanners using the front-facing camera.
It's going to be software based nothing, special, nothing like the iPhone, but because of some software enhancements, there's going to be a little faster and better and of course the camera is now larger. So it does have slightly better face recognition, but it's not going to be secure. The primary mode is gonna, be boomed. Biometrics fingerprint sensor. Now, let's talk about the actual performance.
Now this one is a Snapdragon, each 65, processor, 12 gigabytes of RAM. This one has an 855 processor from last year also has 12 gigabytes of RAM. So because the processor is going to be brand new on this one, you do get a slight boost in performance. It's going to be 25% faster when it comes to everyday activities playing games. You know browsing around just launching apps using the phone to take photos, videos, the performance is gonna, be slightly similar.
It's just going to be a little faster when it comes to day use, but in my opinion it's not going to be a big deal. Both phones do have UFS 3.0 storage, which is the best storage that we have is the fastest possible. So the operations this form doesn't lag. It's super smooth and this nook. This is not going to lag either.
It's going to be super smooth, ok, so, basically I, don't think. The increase in the processor is a big deal, because this phone is only six months old, and it still runs like a rockstar. This is brand new, so it's going to be slightly faster. Now, both phones have a micros expansion capability up to 1 terabytes, if you want to add extra storage, but they do come with nice chunks of storage. Now this one has 128 gigabytes of storage, and this one has tour.
This has 256 gigabytes of storage. Now you can buy this in 512 gigabyte versions as well, and that's going to give you 16 gigabytes of RAM. Just so you know, but the base model is 128 on this one. We just happen to have 256, but both can be expanded. Alright, so mostly the same options when it comes to storage expansion off now.
Finally, let me talk about the screen. Real, quick, we're going to come back the screen, so six point nine inches six point, eight inches quality and size very similar. There is only one big advantage to the s20 ultra that many people are looking forward to some people don't care. Some people might care. This phone is capable of 120 Hertz refresh rate.
So, as you browse through the phone, when you swipe back and forth, you play certain games, it's going to feel smoother, it's just gonna. If the perception is going to be similar, it's not going to be faster. It's going to be smoother going back and forth between the windows. It's simply it's going to glide back and forth. When you launch apps, it's going to feel more natural, all right.
So just so you know this phone is capable of 120 Hertz refresh rate. This one is maxed out at 60, Hertz, refresh rate okay. Now the one thing with this phone is: when you go to the settings when you go to display all right, let's go into the screen resolution here now, 120 Hertz on this phone is only going to be available in full high-definition plus. When you go to the higher resolution, it goes back to 60 Hertz, which I think they did to save the battery all right. So just so you know when you go here, you get a 120 Hertz when you go here, you get a get 60 Hertz, and even if you're here, you can still disable 120 Hertz if you so desire.
So that's one of the big options on this phone this year that many tech enthusiasts do care about, while most of the consumers actually don't care about. Okay, just be aware of that. Now, let's move on and talk about a conclusion: should you upgrade from the note 9 a note 10, plus to the s20 ultra, and the simple answer to that question based on facts is no because when you are upgrading your, only really getting one major upgrade. There are other upgrades minor. In my opinion, the major upgrade is the camera.
Okay and, of course, the slightly larger screen size with a hundred twenty Hertz refresh rate beyond that you're losing the s-pen. If you go here so, if you're, an S, Pen enthusiast, big mistake, I would wait for the no 20 ultra and skip the s20 ultra, but when it comes to the works, it's all the same. No headphone jack same similar build quality, same ports, similar software experience again this has a couple more extra options, as you know, so that's great and same biometrics options, fingerprint sensor, similar design. So again, all you're getting guys is, and I want to make sure you understand this. Yes, there are other upgrades like the processor, but the massive differences are the camera and, of course, the 120 Hertz refresh rate, and then also when you move from here to here, you do lose the aspect, so you have to balance that out.
Are you, okay, with letting this package go and go to this one for the latest and greatest camera, which is something I would personally do but then again I'm a reviewer I have to buy every phone anyway, but for most consumers this package is more than enough, and this is still a flagship. Okay, until the no 20 altar comes out, this remains a flash. So that's the conclusion do not upgrade for now wait for later.
