Galaxy Note 20 VS Nubia RedMagic 5S - Camera Comparison

What's happening everyone, my name is Alex and welcome back to a new camera comparison. Video for today we have the latest phone from red magic. This is called the red magic 5s, and this is a gaming phone that you can buy for just under 600. But let's be real here. When you buy a phone these days, it has to do at all. So this we are comparing the cameras on the back of this device to the cameras on the back of the Samsung Galaxy note 20.

Now the note 20 is also a bit more expensive, so this is a phone that you would buy for about a thousand dollars all right, we're starting with some portly mode pictures that I took with both these devices. So, looking at these pictures, I personally prefer the colors from the pictures taken by the red magic 5s. However, the pictures taken by the note 20 have better edge detection and if you look close enough, you're going to notice that the pictures taken by the red magic also have like a beauty filter. Almost I mean even the pictures from the note 20 have that beauty filter, but when you compare the two the note 20 does seem to have the better portrait mode pictures. But what do you guys think which phone takes better portrait mode pictures, the red magic 5s or the Samsung Galaxy? Note 20 all right, and we're moving on to some five times, zoom pictures now for five times, zoom pictures the red magic has to do digital zoom, because there is no telephoto lens on the back of this device, where the note 20 does have a mix of optical zoom and digital zoom.

So of course, looking at all those pictures, all the pictures taken by the note 20 are sharper. However, four or five times digital zoom, the red magic 5s, doesn't do that bad. In my opinion, moving on to pictures taking the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices. Well, even though the Samsung Galaxy note 20 has very saturated colors, all the pictures are brighter. They have better dynamic range, so there is really no comparison for pictures taking on the ultra-wide lens.

I feel that the Samsung Galaxy note 20 does better for every single picture, but definitely let me know what you guys think. Do you like the pictures from the red magic 5s taking the ultrawide lens? Personally, I would definitely choose the Samsung Galaxy note 20 for that and moving on to pictures taking the main lenses well here, once again, the Samsung Galaxy note 20 has so overly saturated colors and a lot of those colors don't have anything to do with reality. Now even the red magic 5s has more saturated colors the reality, but for a lot of those pictures taking the main lens, I kind of prefer the pictures from the red magic, the colors look better, not to mention the shutter. Speed is kind of slow on the note 20. So whenever I was taking pictures of my daughter most of those pictures, um she's kind of out of focus, so very slow, shutter speed on the note 20.

Now dynamic range wise. The note 20 does a bit better, of course, but overall for the main camera, I feel that the red magic 5s does a bit better. But definitely let me know what you guys think about the pictures taking the main lenses on the back of these two devices. Next, we are going to move on to some pictures that I took at night and for nighttime pictures. Of course, I use the night modes on both devices now looking at those pictures.

Once again, I kind of like the colors from the pictures taken by the red magic, but when you start zooming in you're, going to notice that the pictures taken by the Samsung Galaxy note 20 are much, much sharper. So if I would have to choose one phone for nighttime pictures, I have to say that the note 20 is much better, mostly because the pictures are sharper now the saturation I could adjust afterwards, but not necessarily the sharpness. So that's why I'm saying even though the Samsung Galaxy note 20 has very, very yellowish, colors and very saturated colors. We can adjust that after we take the pictures, but you're not going to be able to adjust the picture sharpness so for nighttime pictures. There is no comparison.

The Samsung Galaxy note 20 does seem to do better, and we're going to move on to some video recordings, and here, just as I was expecting the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 does seem to do better for pretty much everything. The colors in those videos are better. The video sharpness is better, so the overall video quality from the Samsung Galaxy note 20 is better. Now. The sound quality from the internal microphones does seem better in some situations, um from the red magic 5s, but that probably has a lot to do with the fact that the note 20 tries to cancel the out inside the noises, so the wind, the cars and so on.

So yes, the sound from the red magic 5s is a bit louder, but um only in some situations. So, let's check out those sample recordings that I have, and I will be right back all right. This is a quick recording in 4k at 30 frames per second between the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and the red magic 5s. Now both devices can also do 4k at 60 frames per second and 8k, but for this video test we're only going to test out the 4k at 30 frames per second recordings. So we're going to stop here, we'll pan right slowly towards these trees and back left, and we're going to walk straight of course.

At this resolution, both devices have IMF stabilization as well. So this how recording in 4k, with the main lenses on the red, magic 5s and the Samsung Galaxy note 20, would look like under these conditions, all right. We have a quick video recording between the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and the red magic 5s for this recording I'm using the main lenses on the back of these two devices and recording in 4k at 30 frames per second, so we're going to walk this way for a bit I'll, keep the phones as steady as I can so um. I guess we're going to stop somewhere around here, we're gonna, pan right, slowly and up and back down and left so yeah. This whole recording in 4k at 30 frames per second would look like between these two devices at night and, lastly, we are going to check out some selfies that I took with the red magic 5s and, of course, the Samsung Galaxy note 20.

Now for selfies, the red magic has this beauty filter, even though I turn that off where uh my face basically has like a filter over it, you can't see any details on my skin. Nothing and even though the note 20 does the same, it's not as aggressive as the red magic 5s. So I would say that, for data himself is the note.20 does better- and this is probably the first time on the first camera comparison where the note 20 did better than another phone for selfies, because usually the note 20 does not take great selfies, but in these conditions I feel that the note 20 does better and the same goes for nighttime selfies. So once again for selfies the note 20 will do better. So what do you guys think? Is this phone worth it for um 600, I mean yes, this is a gaming phone.

It has a fan inside it has a bunch of um cool things as a gaming phone, but is it good enough to take pictures, I think, for the main camera it is good enough, but for everything else you could have on better alternatives for the price, all right guys. Hopefully you enjoyed this video. If you did like it, don't forget to press that, like button, don't forget to subscribe, and I'll see you guys in the next one thanks for watching.
