What is going on everybody in Massachusetts. Welcome back to a brand-new video. Today we're going to be doing the first impressions of the galaxy a71 5g. Now this phone is a certified beast. A quad camera monster, stay tuned, so masquerade. As I said in the intro of this video here.
This is going to be the first impressions of the galaxy a71 5g, and the first thing I want to discuss is the price of the device and how I actually got it so the price I got it at was about 649, but the next day it's kind of funny. They had a sale going on where you get 200 bucks off it. So I'm definitely going to be calling Verizon pretty soon to get my disc out, because I'm not going to pay more, if I don't have to so with that price of about 650, what kind of specs are inside this device here? What can you expect for that price? So, with the galaxy a71 here, 5g UW from Verizon, you can expect the snapdragon 765 to be inside this device, the 765g to be exact, you're, going to have eight gigs of ram 128 gigs of internal storage, and you're also going to be running android 10 out of the box here now on the bottom of the device you're going to have an USB type c port for charging, headphone jack and also a loudspeaker. But if you turn around and look at the back of the device you're going to have a quad camera setup in which the main sensor is going to be 64 megapixels at y you're going to have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide camera, and you're also going to have a five megapixel depth and 5 megapixel macro. Now this camera in the rear is capable of shooting full HD video at 60 frames per second also 4k, and the wide angle camera on the rear is also capable of shooting 4k video as well.
Now, if you flip the phone around, you can see the 32 megapixel selfie camera, in which it has the ability to record 4k video as well.1080P at 60, it's the first one I had where I actually had that capability, so I was actually pretty impressed going on with the specs here. The device features a 6.7 inch super amulet plus display with a resolution of full HD. So basically it's not 2k, but super-duper crisp. When I say this screen is beautiful, it's an understatement. Now you also have NFC with this device and for the first time ever for me, I have a device with an ultrasonic or basically a fingerprint scanner under the display, and it works pretty well now powering up this device here, the 6.7-inch screen is going to be a 4 500 William hour battery and so far with the experience it's been pretty good. Now, if you look along the side of the device here, it's going to have a power button and the volume of a down key, of course, and on the top of the device you're going to have your sim tray slot for expandable storage.
You also have a noise-cancelling the mic on top, as well now with the design of this phone. Here I'm curious because I read one thing online: I'm just not able to tell myself even with the phone being in my hand, but it does have a decent amount of weight to it. I believe it's made with metal on the sides of the device like on the outside the actual body, the chassis. If you like to say chassis, the chassis is made of aluminum, but the back itself is uh plastic. It's definitely not glass, so going over all those specs with the galaxy 871 5g.
Here. Let me know in the comment section: do you think it's worth the money, or do you think it's better to find something a little cheaper with the same specs? If you can, let me know so: yes, it has 8 gigs of ram. The performance on this device is pretty good. I am in love with this phone here uh. I don't think I ever had a phone yeah.
Furthermore, I don't know for sure I never had a phone with eight gigabytes of ram inside. It seems as though it flies with every single thing and the fact that it's not a flagship processor is what confuses me, because the 765g is pretty fast, damn near flagship. If you ask me bouncing in and out applications is no problem, I'm telling you I can go to Instagram back and forth, and it would be on the same photo that I was looking at earlier so overall with the performance of this device here with it having the snapdragon 765 inside paired up with eight gigs of ram and 128 gigs of storage, you're not going to be upset at all. Opening up applications is going to be a breeze bouncing in, and out of applications is going to be a breeze LTE connectivity with this device is stellar as well not going to be upset at all. Now when it comes to the 5g connectivity, that's something that I didn't actually experience just yet, but trust me as time does go on and in my area I do have apparent 5g coverage.
I will get a chance to use it hopefully sometime in the near future, but as of right now, LTE is working. Just fine there's really nothing to complain about now. Let's go ahead and talk about one of the highlighted things on this device here, it's the cameras, as I said, the camera on the rear or the cameras on the rear feature, a 64 megapixel main sensor, 12 megapixel wide and a depth and macro lens that are pro 5 megapixels and when it comes to taking pictures on this device, shooting videos with this device you're going to be extremely pleased. This phone features a amazing camera, really, really good for the money to the point where I'm actually going to be using this phone to record most of my videos in the future here, because the video that comes from this camera is actually that good. I don't know if it's because I haven't had a Samsung phone in a long time- maybe it's just me being a little overexcited, but I'm a person that loves video, obviously, and so the fact that the phone can produce videos the way it does really surprises me uh.
It even has the feature of super steady, which is your know, it's keeping the camera extremely still, while you're in some type of movement. So, let's say you're, I don't know playing basketball or doing anything, not even playing basketball. Let's say you're just moving around running or whatever you can actually have the phone in your hand and record, and it's going to keep the video stable. This camera on the front of the device is so good that if I decided to record a video with this phone here, as far as the front camera, I can get away with it. It shoots 4k, video as well.
This thing man, this phone as far as camera performance, is honestly something that I wasn't expecting and uh it's even better than what I thought it was going to be in the store when I was actually looking at purchasing it and, of course, besides shooting photos and videos with this device, you get an array that you get a ton of ton, a ton of different camera options, not just steady mode, but you get super slow motion. You can slow motion. Of course, you get your night mode, which is actually pretty good. Uh yeah, you get a ton of options when it comes to cameras on this device or when it comes to the cameras on this device here and uh dedicated camera test. Video is coming for this device, and it's going to be pretty detailed because there's a lot of features with this camera.
Now as far as gaming on this device, here, I haven't played Call of Duty mobile or anything like that on it. Yet I haven't opened up one game except soul, hunters, which is not a game that really tests the performance of a device. So I can't really speak on that. Not yet now, with the galaxy a715g here, you actually have access to 25 watt fast charge. Now me personally, I never had a phone with that capability as far as charging that fast and man, let me tell you something once you get a taste of something charging a little quicker than what you were used to before.
It really is hard to go back, because I'm to the point now, where I'm telling you like, I I I literally watch this phone go from 24 one day plugged it in, and it got to 32 in, like maybe a couple of minutes, and the only reason I plugged it in for a few minutes, because I thought I had a little more time than I did, but the fact that it got up to another eight percent. You know that eight percent could be the difference between your phone being dead and you are actually able to use it to make a phone call for whatever you need to do so. As far as charging times on this device really, really fast. I went from zero to 70 in about a half hour at one point, so yeah it charges very fast. This phone has amazing battery life, even though it's pushing a super AMOLED plus display now I've gotten anywhere between about six to seven to even eight hours of screen on time with this device and that's consistently.
Now. This is a brand-new phone here. So maybe we should wait about a few weeks or so to really test the battery and get a good idea of what it can be. You know producing or what it can be performing like on a daily basis over a couple of days. It's not really fair, but over those couple days I have gotten about eight hours of screen on time, which is pretty impressive, with a device that has a display like this one does now.
Unfortunately, this device only features a single firing. Speaker that's on the bottom, and it sounds pretty good. You can definitely hear things if you turn it up to max volume. Now some people may say sound a little low, but you know it doesn't feature a dual speaker setup. So the fact that it's not loud enough, even if it was louder and a little more clear, it would still be a downer for me because I have a device, that's cheaper than this.
That has dual speakers on the front. Now when it comes to the performance on apps like a two-two benchmark, geek bench, four epic, five, these numbers are fairly. You know decent on the ASUS benchmark. We got a score of 309 377, which, if you ask me, is a perfect score, um, faster than any other mid-range to budget advice that I have right now for sure the closest one is the Redmi Note 9s at about 229 230, I think. But when it comes to geek bench 5, I got a single core score of 603 and a multicore score 1746, and I also did another test with this device.
Like the day I got it and the single core score was 618 and the multi-core score was 1863. , so the numbers does fluctuate there, but consistently it's about the 600 in the single core and about 1800 on the multi-core. Now, of course, if we go over to our old version of geek bench, which is uh geek bench 4 here I got a single core score of 2793 and a multi-course score of 7 320. So between the geek bench 4 score, the geek bench five score on the a2 benchmark score I'll, say the numbers are about what I expected or what a device that has the snapdragon 765 actually perform like now. Don't get me wrong? It is kind of weird when I test the device first off the box, and it has a little higher of a score and then a few days later, the score is like depleted.
By like a couple of thousand points, it doesn't really make much sense to me, but it is fun to get these numbers here and just see who has the bigger numbers when it comes to performing tests like the 222 benchmarking geek bench, this device features android 10 it's going to be running Samsung's one UI, I believe it's called and uh the skin is pretty cool um, definitely a lot faster than what I was using on Samsung in the past here, and they have definitely come a long way now, one of the negative things about this device, which is actually a surprising thing for me, because it is a Samsung phone here- is uh the availability of accessories for the Verizon model. Because little did I know the galaxy a71, the a71 5g and the a715g UW are slightly different, which is kind of crazy uh, because I didn't really act. I didn't actually realize that you're not going to be able to find two one. That's gonna exactly fit your phone, but I did pick up a couple of cases that were originally fitted for the a71 5g and not the Verizon model, but uh they actually do fit. I kind of sucked about it so accessories and things like that for the galaxy 871, it may be pretty hard for you to find some stuff not really hard for you to find some stuff, but it may be hard for you to find the stuff that you would prefer.
I love the cameras on this device. Furthermore, I love the charging speeds uh. It just has a lot of going for it and I can definitely recommend it to anyone out there who's looking to experience 5g whenever you actually get a chance to experience it and uh enjoy a pretty decent phone without breaking the bank. The galaxy a71 is that phone for me and I believe it can be that phone for you as well so Matt squad. Let me know in the comment section below: is the galaxy a71 5g UW worth the money, or should I have gotten something else should I just say you know what go ahead and grab the note, even though it didn't have the feature that I was looking for, or should I have was waiting for the new iPhone I don't know.
Should I have just gotten the pixel 4 a don't know? What should I have done? Do you think the galaxy a71 was a good pickup? Let me know- and if you are new to the channel here, consider subscribing, so you don't miss any coverage when it comes to mid-range devices at the galaxy a71, 5g and Matt squad like this video here, so that other people, just like you, can get a little more help when it comes to researching mid-range devices like the galaxy a715g, and then you get to see first impression, videos like this one here it makes sense right and last but not least, share this video with your friends and family and let them know that not all android cameras suck.
