Everything You Need to Know About Cricket Wireless and 5G

Hi everybody I'm lady red. This is lady, red's tech reviews, and today we're going to talk about 5g and everything you need to know about 5g and circuit wireless, so stay here, leave a like on the video. If you enjoy the content drop a comment, if you have any more questions and subscribe to the channel, ring the bell and get all the notifications for the new videos all right. So what's the big deal about 5g, ideally and in the future, not right now, because it's very new, and it's still in the works, we're going through, what's kind of what we're describing here in our the stores as growing pains. But eventually what will happen there will be better coverage everywhere. That's what they tell us right now.5G has been launched nationwide, a lower band 5g, which is what's going to be available in pretty much everywhere. A lot of rural areas may or may not see this kind of speeds, but what this is going to be is higher speeds, and it's going to be able to take a little more network traffic you're not going to run into congestion as much but network congestion doesn't really exist in a lot of places.

Like my area, we never have network congestion here once or twice a year at the most, because it's a lower populated area, but in larger cities, network congestion is a very real thing. So there's not going to be as much of that with 5g. However, this is the most important thing you need to know. In order for you to take advantage of 5g speeds, you will need a circuit branded 5g device right now. The only one we've got going is the Samsung s20 plus, so the Samsung s20 plus 5g, is the only device available at cricket wireless that will be capable of latching onto the 5g network these frequencies.

These are different frequencies than what we have had in the past. That being said, your old 4g phones are still going to work. Just fine 4g ain't going nowhere. We will all still be on 4g, no matter what phone you have it's still going to be available, however, to get 5g you will need the s20 plus 5g, plus the 60 dollar unlimited plan, which includes unlimited hot text, data 15 gigs of hotspot, and that is the only plan that you will be able to use and get the 5g okay, so you're going to need two things in order to take advantage of cricket's 5g network you're, going to need the Samsung s20 plus 5g and activate it on the 60 unlimited plan. It's going to include unlimited talk, text data, 15, gigs, the hotspot and access to the 5g network.

Now, can you get that 60 that 60 plan on any with any phone? Absolutely um, I'm on that phone, most of um, all of my co-workers, are on that plan. Most of our customers are on that plan because of the hotspot access you get 15 gigs hotspot with it um. That's not going to be an issue. You can put that plan on any device. But if you put this phone on any lesser plan, you will not have access to the 5g network, even though it is a 5g phone.

So definitely, if you're going to want that 5g experience the s20 plus and the 60 dollar plan all right next question that I'm hearing a lot well, uh you'll be able to use your current 5g or any unlocked 5g device with cricket's 5g network. No, unfortunately, not at this time at launch- and it's probably going to take some time, but they are working towards allowing um what we call bods bring your own device unlock devices to work on the 5g network, but right now the only one we've got is the s25g. I will not be featuring an unboxing of that device on this channel. It's all over YouTube. You all can find it.

It's been videoed to death. It feels redundant to me at this point, so it will not be here on the channel um moving right along your next topic. The best 5g experience that you're going to get right now and probably for the next several months is going to be in your larger areas. Um stadiums have been cited: um large concert venues places like that you're going to get some 5g speeds. Now they have done this because these are huge places like titan stadium in Nashville, for example, will load down the network and nobody's going to get any speed now, with 5g you're, going to get a broader network access, and you're not going to get that network congestion when you've got 40 000 people there watching a football game trying to take pictures, keep up with Snapchat Facebook, Instagram and Twitter all at the same time and of course tick-tock.

So they have installed 5g high band high frequency on these um at these uh places these facilities these venues, in order for the big crowds to really take advantage of the network. Maybe you could sit in the parking lot when there's no game plan, I don't know, but that's where you're going to get the higher speeds. Okay, next question: will cricket be coming out with more 5g devices? Absolutely it's just going to take some time, and is the network fully upgraded? No, not yet so we are still experiencing some growing pains um. There is no end date, it is going to be done when it's done um there's a lot of factors that go into place. The weather, um lots of stuff is, you know, can happen between now and completion day, so they're working as quickly as they can.

Crews are having to climb the towers, take down the old equipment, put down, put up new equipment, and all of that takes a lot of time. So you know it's going to be awhile several months, at least before all of this is completed, and everyone has access to 5g. So, in short, right now, the only way to get 5g with cricket network number one, the s20, plus 5g and number two, the 60 dollar unlimited plan that includes unlimited talk, takes data.15 is a hotspot and 5g access. Can you get it with a BYOD device, an unlocked device? No, can you get it with an iPhone? No, can you get it with any other phone? No, can you get with an ATT branded s25 g plus, maybe don't know so. I hope I have answered all of your questions.

If I haven't, please drop them down in the comment box, I will do my best to get to all of your questions and, as always, drop a like and subscribe to the channel ring the bell and get all the notifications for the new videos. Thank you. So much for watching.
