Hello and welcome back to another video today, we are finalizing our budget challenge. We've spent a week with both of the phones, and now we're doing the final comparison to start off. I just want to tell you guys for doing a surprise, giveaway and the giveaway is the winner of this challenge. Now all you need to do is to be subscribed and to post a comment saying budget phone challenge. That's all you need to do. If you do both those things you are now entered and stay tuned to the end of the video to see which phone you'll win.
Here's how this comparison is gonna work, I, show you an image right now of all the categories we will be comparing to determine the winner. However, we will discuss more than what is on the image. Just so I can cover as much ground as possible. I want to pick a winner for each category, but some decisions are tough, and you may not agree with me. That's fine I'd love to discuss all of it in the comments.
So remember we are discussing this from a 20/20 viewpoint, and it's not based on when the phones were new or other time periods, as you may or may not know. We check to eBay and swap before both these phones got them both on eBay for $75 or under, and I'm, quite confident that you guys can get either of these for 75 or under now. We'll compare the fingerprint scanners real quickly. Three two one: now it wasn't a perfect fingerprint scanner, but, as you can tell, both of them were extremely easy to get into I like them both, but I actually prefer the iPhones placement right here. Alright.
Now, let's start off with the actual comparison. So first we'll talk about the display and the design with the pixel 2 XL. As you can see, the design is pretty nice. In a 20/20 standpoint, the bezels are still a little bigger, but it overall looks pretty good still. As for the iPhone, the bezels are a little bigger, but the aluminum design is pretty.
Nice actually feels perfect in the hand and, as you probably know, they use the same design from the iPhone 6, basically to the 8. It's somewhat iconic. Overall. This is a good build as well as for the display. The iPhone has a 4.7 inch 750 by 1334 PL CDs display, and it's pretty crisp. Actually, although I would really like a 1080p display, it's still pretty good because of the smaller phone, it's harder to tell the difference than if it was the Plus model colors.
Look pretty good and overall you're going to like it. As for the pixel to excels, display, it is a 6 inch.1440P display it's solid. Now, if you saw my review of it, you would see the blue tint that happens off axis. The screen was one of the shortcomings of the time we are comparing it still to this 6s and for the display and design category I'm, giving it to the pixel 2x, though, due to the modern design, the OLED display and the resolution of 1440 p ii, we will quickly show and talk about the specs of the phone right here. I'll have a spec sheet up of a comparison, but quickly the base.
Storage on the pixel is 64 gigabytes with 4 gigabytes of RAM, and the 4 gigabytes of RAM is ok, but it doesn't always work well, if you're using the camera and having other apps open, it will close out other app. The Snapdragon 835 is a premium processor, even though it's 2 years newer than the 9 in the iPhone 6s, it doesn't perform too much better. The iPhone has a base storage of 16 gigabytes with this one having 32 gigabytes of storage, there are 2 gigs of RAM, but this isn't as relevant as it would be on Android right here. I'm going to show you my Geek bench scores for both of them. The iPhone 1 single core pretty easily in the 2 XL 1 multi-core easily I would take the a9 over the 8:35.
It performs extremely smoothly, and I feel like it's even smoother than on the for Excel, although you can reduce animations and everything on here. I'm going to give this to the iPhone 6s, mostly because, as I said of iOS, rather than the numbers themselves now, a YouTube comparison is not part of this discussion, but we're going to do it anyway, because you know a lot of you probably are interested and what YouTube looks like on here. So, as you can see by these marques Brown lee video here, and he shoots in a 16 by 9 aspect- ratio, the pixel to excel optimizes the space a lot better. There are black bars on the top for this kind of videos, where this is a full screen, but just compared it's a lot better of a YouTube watching experience based on the image itself. Just before we go to the sound comparison, I'm going to show you guys the picture-in-picture.
You cannot do this on the iPhone, it's extremely useful! Here's how space is optimized on a regular aspect: ratio um the pixel for does a very good job nonetheless, but the iPhone is better for this type of screen either way. I think it's so rather watch on the pixel, even with the short black bars back onto the main comparison, we're going to go with the sound quality, and I'm going to show you both on the copyright free music, we'll start with the iPhone. It's a single speaker. You can cover it up sometimes easily, but I found the clarity to be excellent, even on this old of a phone, so we're at full volume right here, and we're going to play it for you guys on both these phones start with the iPhone. Now we've got the pixel to excel.
We also run full volume. As you know, these are dual firing. Speakers, they're pretty good for the most part, but I wanted a little better out of them. But here's how it sounds. It was a little louder, but I don't know if you guys could tell or not based on my mic, but it just wasn't as clear as the iPhone 6s.
So we'll play them real quickly, successively I'm, giving this round to the iPhone 6s. Just because of the clarity they both sound, pretty good. It's going to be harder to block these, but the iPhone just sounded better. In my opinion, the camera is one of the most essential features for many people, and I'm going to be doing a'll review soon. So this is not a definitive answer right here.
Well, it is just based on my opinion, I'm going to show you guys a lot better. Comparisons in the full review, as you've been seeing. I am showing you some comparisons right here, but they aren't the best due to them being in different lighting conditions and everything they weren't shot on the same day as these will be I want to get out into better environments to get a better comparison. Nevertheless, I'm choosing the pixel to excel here because of its nitrite capabilities and I feel like it's the better overall option without a doubt, another essential feature to smartphones is their battery life, and I'll, be showing you guys an image of my comparative batteries, but the iPhone contains in atrocious 1715 William hour battery I thought my 93% capacity was going to be sufficient, but it wasn't in social media tasks, though the iPhone did alright. It just skipped some time when you'll have a high battery percentage and then all the Sun know now I'm at 60, even though I was at 90.
The battery life on here was also decent. Now, it's much better than on this one. This is a 35 20 William hour battery and again iOS does handle lower specs, better and Android, but this was significantly higher. I got a lot more screen on time, and this is by no means a battery King at all, but it does support 18 watt fast charging that all being said, I have to choose the pixel here, and it's not even close. Next, we'll talk about performance and gaming, rather than the battery that gets trained with it right here, I'll be showing you my pub G game from the iPhone 6s quickly, I'll just say the iPhone 6s won, and that's why we're only going to show gaming here on the iPhone 6s.
If you want to see cod Mobile on both of them, I play both in each of the reviews and I will link them in the description as well as have a little thing up here, for you guys to click on. If you want to see those, as this is getting said, both phones heat up of gaming, but the smoothness of the gaming itself felt a little better. The iPhone, the iPhone was very smooth and their movements and everything what I've come to realize is overall, when I played a lot of games on it, it was smooth on both phones. If you have extended periods, you get more frame, drops and part of that might be due to the cooling on each, but either way the iPhone smoothness, with iOS 13, even on these lower specs and the a9 was significantly better in single core lead to the iPhone being the better gaming and performance experience right here. You can just see the smoothness of the display on the iPhone now, although many of you may not value this feature, I do so.
We are going to include the voice assistance on this challenge. The winner of the voice assistance is the Google to excel, with Google Assistant over Siri Google Assistant was able to answer many of my questions way. More often than Siri I enjoyed the hardware integration and overall, the pixel and Google Assistant beat the success in Siri before we get to our last category. I want to talk about features on both of these devices that make them special I've showed these in the direct comparisons. But right here we have the now playing feature where you can go there.
Sometimes they'll show Spotify, depending on the song. It's a very useful feature. You have Google Lens integration in the camera, you have the unlimited Google photo storage as I'll show right here, and you have Android features like multitasking, which you cannot get on iOS and just for fun. We'll talk about the haptic engine on both the iPhones was slightly better, but the pixel does it very well for Android. As for the special features on iOS, you have iMessage, you have face time, you have 3d touch, you have the entire Apple ecosystem.
In your hand, this is the gateway to it. You have airdrop, you have everything that makes the iPhone great alright. Finally, we're gonna talk about software and software support. As you know, many people have their preference in software, the software preference is going to be based on the user. So for this category we are only going to be discussing we're support itself.
Now, overall, the success will have more years of software support, but we are talking from a 20/20 standpoint, and we don't know if this will get Iowa's 14, but let's say that they do. Let's say this gets Iowa's 14 and this gets Android 11 and that is their last system updates that they get on Android. You have features in the OS like APKs and ROMs. There's lineage OS. You can use launchers there's a lot of ways to breathe new life into an older Android phone rather than an iPhone.
When there's no software support rather than when there's not for the iPhone. Since we are talking about software I'll quickly talk about Android 10, it's very smooth, it has nice animations. The gestures are a carbon copy of the newest iPhones, which are great. The overall feel of Android 10 is extremely nice, I believe it's more versatile, and it will have more features and options. That's not to say I, OS 13 isn't fantastic, it's so fluid.
It's the reason that a phone can run so well on lower. So the integration of hardware and software and SOC is what makes iPhones very smooth that all being said. We are giving this category to the pixel just because you can breathe new life into it, so software support is gonna, be very comparable. I still think the pixel to excel wins just due to your ability to bring new life into it. Now, who is the winner? Who is the one that you could win in our giveaway? Truthfully I found it extremely hard to pick a true winner on my chart.
You can see that the pixel 1, if 1, 4, 2 3. However, a lot of the categories were extremely close, as you can see, and there's a lot of good with both options, also as I just talked about with software, it's a personal preference for many people, and some people will just want I, owe a Sony or want Android'm, which is why you will pick one over the other. For all these reasons, I decided that, although the pixel to excel one for me- and it is the winner of this video, but barely I'm- still gonna- let the winner of the giveaway decide which of these two phones they want to choose. So thank you all for watching it gotten this far. I really appreciate it, and thank you all for the sport hope you all stay well and safe and peace.
