BlackBerry Program Update! Hope Springs Eternal!

Hey everybody welcome back to tech odyssey, so today, I'm here to talk about a very targeted blackberry subject, and that is a double back and discuss some more the new onward mobility program. What program? Well I made another video talking about this program that they set up, so you can sign up. You can put in your information, your name, your email and the number of devices you might be interested in what carrier you might be using it on, and largely it went unnoticed and that's for very good reason. The reason being- and I talked to them about this- there were people that were like hey. It just showed up out of nowhere. Well, it showed up out of nowhere because it wasn't ready for the public yet, and that was there was a typo or two.

There was also it didn't, really send you out, like a confirmation or a welcome email, saying: hey thanks for signing up. They were in the process of setting it up, and somebody happened to notice that there was an update to the website, so crack berry got a hold of it. Other people got a hold of it. I had people knocking on my door ringing, my doorbell sitting me dms, saying: hey: do you know anything about this? So I did a little of investigative research and I ended up talking to them to get some more information and give them some feedback. Saying hey, maybe set up an email to let people know that they got the registration that they filled out and also just some other general conversation stuff.

But it's very interesting, and they're actually really excited about it, and I know I talked about this in the video information is king. We really want to know. What's going on everybody's, well aware that the deadline has passed for the phone to come out, it was supposed to be out the first half of 2021. That date has come and passed we'll, we're well aware of that. So is all more mobility.

Unfortunately, there are things going on behind the scenes that prevent them from being able to talk about that right now, but hopefully in the near future, like I said before, they are very well aware of it and are planning on making a statement at some point in time. In the near future, hopefully sooner than later, unfortunately, it's still a waiting game and as soon as there's more information, I will pass that around and make a video and tell everybody what's up, but right now, it's very interesting because when it comes to this program it actually generated some metrics and statistics that I found very surprising, and they were really excited about, because most people think that blackberry is dead. And yes, if you look at the press releases, if you look at the news, that's out there. If you look at all the commentary from everybody who loves to say, blackberry is dead, they say nobody wants these phones. Nobody wants a physical keyboard phone.

Nobody cares about blackberry anymore. When this program went live and by live, I mean the part of the website that was published, so you can sign up and register it was not announced. There was no press release. There was no formal announcement. There was no blog post, no nothing but guess how much interest that it got in just like a 48-hour amount of time.

Are you ready for this over 4 000 sign-ups over 4 000 and on the low number, the tallying that they did, because when you go to the bottom of the registration there's an area where you can pick how many devices you might be interested 1 to 5 10 to 20, whatever the numbers are on the low end on the very lowest ends? When you add it up the amount that people signed up and clicked those boxes for the very lowest end, you know, because the range could be significantly higher. It was over 32 000 devices. Now you might be saying: okay, 32 000 blackberries. That's not a lot of right! Well, when you think about this phone is not out, yet they have it set up where you can do this pre-commitment thing. No advertisement, no media attention, no announcement; no nothing! Just somebody finds hey! They uploaded this to where you can access it and sign up for more information over 32 000 devices worth of interest and over 4 000 different sign.

Ups, that's pretty big! When you talk about this grassroots independent company, that's licensed out the IP from blackberry, so they can bring this phone to market. That is a very good metric now, if you think about. If they did this on a larger scale, and they made an announcement, they came out and said: hey guys, you go, you can go ahead and sign up for this to get more information, so you can be in the know. So you can send feedback to. Let us know things that you would like to see in upcoming devices, and so you can find out before the public knows and also so.

You can kind of have first dibs when they become available over 4 000 sign ups in about 48 hours time, media silence no announcement. Nothing. Now. I'm sure that the video I made had something to do with that, because I told the whole world about it and you guys love to come watch the blackberry content that I put out, but I was talking with them, they're very excited about that. I was excited.

Furthermore, I was like wow, that's that's a lot. You have people over 4 000 people interested, and they want at least 32 000 blackberries that could go as high as 40 50 60 000. If you look at the different brackets, but at the very, very lowest based off of all the information that was provided, I thought that was very reassuring, because what we're looking at here, I don't want to call it a boutique device, but people are like well. Unihertz, probably is going to sell more phones than they are. Definitely not that's not going to be something happening in the realm of reality.

But when you look at what they're doing and this phone that they're going to bring to market it's going to be exciting, people, I think, are a lot more people are going to buy than I think that they are giving credit for. A lot of people have been prior blackberry users and have moved on there's a lot of people still, still sitting on the fence right now, trying to figure out what's going to happen because you're still waiting to find out when the device is going to be here, and we've got the 2g 3g thing. That's kind of killing off blackberry phones because they don't support voice over LTE we've got the blackberry 10 things with the end of life in January, so it's a very dire time for people who have blackberries, but when you look at it on the horizon by the time this device finally gets here, there I think, is going to be a lot more interest. I think once the design gets out there, people are really going to flock towards it. It's going to be really exciting, very powerful, global flagship, all the bells and whistles that we've always wanted in a blackberry now running android, the most secure phone in the world is what they're trying to achieve.

I think it's going to happen and I'm really excited about it. I wish there were more that I could tell you. Furthermore, I hope that they're able to make an announcement soon because once they're able to finally start making some of these announcements and putting more information out there, it's going to create a lot more communication between them and the customers who are very, very interested in this device in the company and in the brand as a whole. Furthermore, I think it's going to be exciting time and I think once we're. Finally, at that point it will kind of wash over a little of this negativity and, of course, they're late.

I mean the phone should have been here already. I talked about this before in my previous video. There have been a lot of things going on in the world in the market in the phone space over the last year, like it's very understandable that it's not here right now, I get that I mean we're. Not even going to have a new Samsung Galaxy note phone. I know I've said that a lot of times.

I don't think people really understand the gravity of that situation. If Samsung the biggest global android maker in the world, making their flagship phone, which is the note- has been their biggest phone for like a decade, it's not going to happen they're having to use whatever chips. They have to bring out the z, flip, 3 and the z fold 3, which I understand that they want the want to corner the foldable market, that's where they think the future is for these high-end premium handsets but realistically, looking at it, there are manufacturers that cannot get chips to make their phones, so if Samsung can't get what they need to bring their phone to market. If I mean here's another illustration- and I was looking at this because I have a wax- I was looking at an ad or an article today on the internet, saying that the wax is delayed, and the used ones are actually going for higher prices than the new ones when they sold originally because people can't get them. So if you look at the car market, you look at the computer world intel announced or there's at least information put out, they're fixing to run into chip shortages, there's a big global problem when it comes to the phone and the electronics in the computer world right now, however, this is no excuse.

This is not sweeping anything under the rug, they told us, we were going to have a device- it's not here. It's a awful situation for blackberry users right now, but I wanted to make this video because I think it's a level of reassurance that people may not expect right now. I think it's a very like shiny gold, star, a silver lining, a really important thing, because when you look at it on paper over 30 something a thousand devices with no nothing, no announcement, no publicity, just hey! We made this. Somebody found it obscurely on our website because you did have to dig for it a little and now here we have a lot of interest. That is just in a small little microcosm area, a tiny little corner of people that are interested, and I think it's going to get bigger.

I think there's going to be more excitement. I think people are starving for new phones, they're, tired of the same old, same old they're, tired of these crazy, expensive phones that do exactly the same thing. We don't have a physical keyboard phone, that's really on this level. We haven't in years, so we want it to be done. Furthermore, we want it to be done right.

Furthermore, we understand some of these things. Hopefully the communication in the near future will start flowing, and our mobility will be able to tell us a lot more great things that we can share publicly and enjoy the process, but as of right now, I just wanted to share that and talk about it and tell you guys, because it really struck me with the amount of interest that there was in such a short period of time with absolutely no notice. So that's all I've got in this video stay tuned, of course, I'll be making more videos. As I have more information- and I have more to talk about, and so will our mobility, but I just wanted to share that with you guys again, the link is down in the description. If you want to hop on that and go sign up for the pre-commitment, so you can sign up for the program which they hopefully will be doing a lot of stuff with in the future.

But that's all I got if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them down in the comment section I'll get back with you. If you enjoyed the video, please hit the like and the subscribe button and little notification bell if you want updates when new videos come out and as always thanks for being here, I appreciate you watching, and I'll see you guys next time you.
