What is going on guys welcome to Greg Miles TV. This is gonna, be a review for the Alcatel link zone, two hot spots, so you're going to use this to get Internet to your devices, maybe have a tablet that can only connect to Wi-Fi. Well, it can now connect to a mobile network via this or if you want to use a phone, maybe ran out of data, or you have a just a phone that doesn't have a connection to a mobile networking connected to this or a computer, a laptop whatever device you want. You can connect it to this device, it runs on T-Mobile's network, and it runs on LTE and below, so you're. Not going to get 5g networking with this I've been using it for about a week, so I definitely have my thoughts on it. Let's first talk about the things that I like about it.
So first battery life is amazing. You were literally, if you kept this on all day. You literally get battery life all stinking day. There's no problem at all: I, don't worry about it and a bit dying like halfway through the day or court three-quarters of the day it'll last you the whole day. Its awesome battery life is amazing.
I mentioned that the link zone to have perfect battery life where the battery inside is 4400. Williams. Remember, there's no screen on this, so you're going to get great battery life because the battery is huge. I, like the simplicity of the device itself. So on this device you get a USB-C port for charging.
It is up amazing, because all Android phones and then some iPad pros and then a lot of other devices. Well, our USB see, so it takes that technology and allows you to use a USB-C port to charge it up. Also, it has a USB port that will allow you to use this as a battery bank. So if you want to charge your phone or some other device with this, you now can when I talked about simplicity, I love that it has only two buttons on the back here. One turns it on and other ones a WPS button that allow you to connect devices with the push of a button and then other than that you have some LED lights on here that indicate the connections.
You know how good of a connection you have how much battery life you have left. If you have any notifications, it's just so simple I, don't need a display on there to tell me a bunch of stuff. It just works and really well now. What about? If you want to change the network name or the Wi-Fi password or one of the settings on here to take hold, you know just to change it over a little. It's super simple! It comes with a little card inside that gives you the name of the network, the password for the network, the password also to connect to the device as an admin and go and change some settings, as well as the website link when you're attached to the hotspot to take control of this device and then once you're in there, like I, said you can change all kinds of settings in here.
Furthermore, it's really easy. Really simple: you can send text messages to receive them, and you send them. You can go in there and change your network name or change the security or put a firewall on or off, there's just all kinds of settings in here engine, but it's really easy to navigate as well. Let's talk about the things that maybe I, just okay, with or kind of just don't like about it. It's only 4G now to me: that's not the end of the world, because you can get some perfect speeds with 4G LTE I.
Don't have any other T-Mobile devices to compare this against. So for me, I was getting decent speeds. I was getting decent enough speeds to easily livestream. My show I live stream the other day with this device from my computer and had no hiccups at all. It worked beautifully, nobody said, I broke up or sounded bad or look bad on there.
Everything worked without a hitch, but maybe you want those ultra-fast.5G speeds you're not going to get them on this because again it doesn't have 5g compatibility. The other thing to take hold of is I did check out our review. I think it was that PC Magazine did, and they said compared to some of their other devices that they have connected to the T-Mobile network that this one performed slower than those devices. Another thing that might turn you off a little: the price isn't crazy. It's 90 bucks and when you compare that to like a 700, $$8009,000 phone, it doesn't seem that bad, but you will have to come up with at least initially based off the pricing.
My T-Mobile's website 90 bucks again not the end of the world, but it is something to take hold of, and you will have to pay a monthly price dependent upon what plan you add this on with T-Mobile and all that, what amount of data you get as well. Another thing- and this isn't the fault of the device, because the device can handle 4k video streaming in 1080p streaming. You know really anything you threw at it, because the speeds are good enough. Is that anything? It's more of a plan that it's on is that when you connect this to T-Mobile, it's only going to allow you to stream video at 480p. Again, not the devices fault.
It's T-Mobile's, you know issue, but it is something to know so with all that said and done great battery life ease of use getting connected to it using it controlling it. I recommend it. I mean I, if you, if you need a device separately from you, know, tethering with your phone, and you want to connect them to this. That would be a tablet, a computer, a laptop another phone, that's not connected to the T-Mobile network or some other network pick this up, because I think it's going to be for the price of 90 bucks. It's not it's not gonna, you know, cost you an arm and a leg, and it's going to give you decent performance, and it's lightweight and easy to use.
Do it. I would definitely recommend it. Thanks for watching see you down the road.
