So for the longest time, I have wanted a stainless steel Apple Watch, but I never really thought it was worth buying. Since I already had a perfectly working series 3. So, like any practical person, I decided to wait it out. Then the day comes where I completely shattered my series 3, and I made the crucial mistake of not purchasing Apple Care, so yeah. That was a very expensive mistake on my part, and it's a lesson that you guys should probably learn from the day. Finally, comes where it's time for me to purchase a gold, stainless steel, Apple Watch and I had a very difficult time deciding upon which gold variant looked better.
The series 5 stainless steel or the series 6 stainless steel, of course, like any practical person, would I did end up buying both and here is a color comparison for you guys. Just in case you are in the same predicament as myself. We will also go over the key differences between the series 5 and the series 6 so strap in. If you want to see more content, just like this one, including my gold, iPhone 12 Pro review, which should be dropping sometime next week, then make sure you are subscribed to the channel, and you leave a like on this video to help with the almighty YouTube algorithm. Also, after watching this video, if you decide that neither of these watches are for you, I did make a review on the new Apple Watch, SE, which I will link in the description below.
It is very difficult to distinguish the color differences on camera, but taking a look at the actual watches. In my opinion, the series 5 is sort of a muted gold color which in fact does resemble a rose gold finish. It's not necessarily a full-fledged rose gold, but it does show hints of rose gold here and there, whereas with the series 6 it's more of a yellowish gold. If you will, if you like your gold to stand out and reflect under direct sunlight, then the series 6 is the way to go. If you do want a gold Apple Watch, but you want it to be a bit more subtle and low-key, then the series 5 is the one for you.
Both of these watches do come with Milanese bands that do reflect the color of the watch, so there is no difference between the watch and the actual band. The bands are held together using magnets, and my only concern is, if, over time, the strength of the magnets wear down. So, if you guys watching, are rocking an Apple Watch with a Milanese band, let me know down in the comments below how the strength of the magnets hold up over time. Also, towards the end of the video. I will, let you guys know which watch I did end up going with so asides from the color.
What are the main future differences between the series 5 and the series 6? Well, let's break it down. Both of these watches do come with a retina LPO OLED display. The key difference is the series.6 has an always on display that is 2 and a half times brighter than the series 5. , although I wouldn't say the brightness of the always on display on the series.5 is lacking. It's just that on the series 6.
There is a noticeable difference in brightness, of course, since the series 6 is the newer model Apple Watch, it does have the new s6 processor, which is based on the a13 bionic found on the iPhone 11. So, technically speaking, it is about 20 faster than the series 5. And apple claims. It does maintain the same 18 hours of all-day battery life, but the series 5 is no slouch in the processing department. Sure it does have the older s5 processor, but it is still two times faster than the Apple Watch.
Series 3. , in fact, apple, is so confident that they included the s5 processor in the new Apple Watch. Se, something to keep note of for the future is that the series 6 does come with the u1 ultra-wide band chip, which apple says, will allow for your watch to serve as sort of digital key for your car in the near future. So you can pretty much unlock and lock your car using your Apple Watch on your wrist, which I think is pretty cool. There are other features that the u1 chip may offer, but for now it's not made clear exactly what those features are, but for the time being, I don't think anyone should be running out to get a series 6.
Just for that chipset, of course. Last but not least, is the one big fitness feature that apple did hype up on the series 6, and that is the blood oxygen monitoring which, if you didn't know pretty much measures the oxygen saturation of the user's blood, it's also known as spo2, and it represents the percentage of oxygen being carried by the red blood cells from the lungs to the rest of your body. The problem with this feature being on a watch is that it does take the spo2 rating from your wrist, as opposed to your fingertips, which is supposed to be the more accurate measurement. So for the time being, it's a really inaccurate measurement of your health asides from that one health feature, the series 5 and the series 6 share. Virtually everything else.
Both of these do contain an electrical hard sensor for ECG. They both feature heart rate sensors, and they can also give you notifications about high and low heart rates, as well as irregular heart rhythms when it comes to the battery life. Both of these models have the same 18 hours of battery life on a single charge. These smartwatches are definitely not two-day battery watches. You do have to charge them at the end of the day, but the one advantage the series 6 has over the series 5 is that it does feature faster charging not to be confused with fast charging, but just faster charging.
A full charge takes about an hour and a half on the series 6, whereas on the series 5, it takes a full two and a half hours, as you guys heard for yourself, the series 6 is not really a worthy enough upgrade over the series 5. With the series 5, you get everything the series 6 has to offer: minus the blood oxygen monitoring, the slightly faster s6 processor and a brighter OSR display. So if you do currently have the series 5, I would say just stick with it. You are making the right choice if you are on a budget, and you still want an Apple Watch check the new Apple Watch, SE I'll have my review linked in the description. With all of that being said, though, I do prefer the gold stainless steel look of the series 6.
, so I will be keeping this Apple Watch and I will be returning my series 5. , but do let me know down in the comments which one you guys think looks better: the gold stainless steel series 6 or the gold stainless steel series 5. I will leave you guys with my Apple Watch. Sc's review, which you can watch by clicking somewhere here or here as always. Thank you guys so much for watching and don't forget to flex with your stainless steel tech.
