So I have been using both the Apple Watch Series 6 and the galaxy watch 3 since the day when they were announced, and today I'm going to do an in-depth comparison, guys you're watching with tube, and if it's your first time. Thank you so much for clicking. Here's where I review smart, watches, smartphones, headphones, etc. So, if you're into all this kind of stuff consider subscribing. So let's start with price and model option now Samsung Galaxy watch 3 comes in two size, 45 millimeters. That is what I have for this video and 41 millimeters with stainless steel body.
The 45 millimeter will cost you 529.99 Canadian dollar and the 41 millimeter will cost you 479.99 Canadian dollar. There is a cellular LTE version, but you need to check with your service provider for this video. I have the Bluetooth version in terms of colors. The 45 millimeter comes in mystic black and mystic silver, which is what I have, and 41 millimeters comes in mystic, bronze and mystic white. So, if you are a big fan of the mystic bronze color, you have to go with the smaller 41 millimeter versions.
Now you can use aftermarket wristband. In fact, any 22 millimeter wristband from other smartwatches, will work for this 45 millimeter version. So I can use the wristband from any of these smartwatches, which is really cool. The 41 millimeter version uses a 20, millimeter wristband. So keep that in mind.
One important point to keep in mind if you are planning to exercise or swim with the galaxy watch 3 is that it comes with a leather wristband which is genuine, but it's leather at the back. So you have to replace it with a silicon aftermarket wristband to avoid any damages from your sweat. I wish they would have used a wristband like my fossil gen 5, which is a leather from top and silicon from bottom. Okay, with that said, Apple Watch Series 6 comes in a variety of cases, color and material options, as shown in this image. The cheaper one will be the aluminum, starting with the base price of 569 Canadian dollar for the 44 millimeter version and 529 Canadian dollar for 40 millimeter aluminum versions, irrespective to their color and band options.
Apple Watch also offers a cellular version which will obviously cost you more. You can also get stainless steel case like the galaxy watch, 3 or even titanium case. Obviously, at a higher price point, but boy you can create your own style from Apple's website, with a ton of band and color options, as shown in this image. So in terms of sheer styling options, Apple Watch is the winner for me, you can even get there a DDS version or the Apple Watch Hermes edition now. Apple Watch also offers a cheaper Apple Watch.
Se, with a starting price of 396 Canadian dollar for the 40 millimeter aluminum case, keep in mind, you can get the 44 millimeter with aluminum stainless steel or titanium case and even cellular version at a higher price point. But in short, if you go with the Apple Watch, SE you will lack features like the ECG blood oxygen sensor and always on display. So if you don't really care about these features, you will save quite a bit of money. So at the time of filming this video, my galaxy watch, 345 millimeters, stainless steel watch is only 40 dollars cheaper than the Apple Watch Series 6. So, let's find out which one is better now just a FYI.
Any Apple Watch will only work with an iPhone but galaxy watch.3 works with both iPhone and android. Now, obviously, galaxy watches have more features when they are paired with an android phone, especially Samsung smartphone, but it's good that they work with both iPhone and android. So for today's video I'll be talking about the performance of galaxy watch 3 in respect to when it's paired with an iPhone to learn more about all its feature when paired with an android phone check out the playlist linked at the end of this video, where you'll find 50 plus videos all about galaxy, smartwatches now in terms of specs, instead of me reading out all the specs just pause, the video and read through all the detailed specs of both these smartwatches listed on the side of the video few mentionable differences are that the Apple Watch Series 644 millimeter version, has a 1.78 inch. Retina LPO OLED rectangular display versus the circular 1.4 inch super AMOLED display on the galaxy watch, 345 millimeters. Certainly I find the Apple Watch Series 6 has a brighter display with 1000 nits of brightness, but both these watches do great with outdoor visibility.
Both these smartwatches have always on display which will negatively impact the battery life. If you use it, keep in mind the cheaper Apple Watch, SE does not have this always on display Apple Watch Series.6 uses their ion x, glass and sapphire glass on their titanium version to protect the display versus the galaxy watch.3 uses the corning gorilla glass. DX Apple Watch has a whopping 32 gigs of storage, with one gig of ram. The storage on the Apple Watch is the highest amount of storage. I have ever seen on any smartwatch.
You can use it to store pictures, music, apps, etc. versus the galaxy watch.3 only has 8 gigs of internal storage, which is certainly more than other smartwatches in this price category. It also has 1 gig of ram on both these watches. You can transfer songs and images straight from your iPhone, but unfortunately, on the galaxy watch 3 you have to transfer mp3 files from a laptop when it's paired, with an iPhone for which I have done a video linked up in the card section and in the video description on Apple Watch, you have to pair a Bluetooth earbud like the Apple AirPods pro to listen to the music. Despite it having a very good quality built-in speaker for music playback, both these watches have all that you need in terms of sensors like Wi-Fi Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, heart rate sensor, altimeter, pedometer, accelerometer, gyroscope, etc.
They both are five atmospheric pressure, water resistance, both the watches have sensors like ECG and blood oxygen. However, I have been waiting for ages. Samsung promised ECG blood pressure and blood oxygen on the galaxy watch 3 when it was announced, but it's still not available here in Canada at the time of filming this video. Of course, there are ways to side load, the ECG blood pressure and spo2 apps, but that ain't for iPhone users at this point which really sucks- and you need to keep this in mind, especially if you're looking for these features. Another subtle difference I want to point out is that the Apple Watch Series, 6 44 millimeters, weighs only 47 grams and galaxy watch.345 millimeters is 53.8 grams. The numbers aren't too far apart, but I do feel the weight and the bulkiness of the galaxy watch.3 on my wrist with prolonged use here is how they look on my 6-inch wrist for you to decide, I feel like if you have smaller wrist than mine, then go with the 41 millimeter galaxy watch 3. By the way, guys, if you're wondering why my galaxy watch 3 has this silver bezel.
That is because I have added a styling aftermarket stainless steel bezel by rink, for which I have done a separate video, and it's linked up in the card section. You can check it out once you're done watching this one okay. Now with the specs being done, let's talk about the battery life galaxy watch.345 millimeters has a 340 William hour battery life, which for me goes about three to four days at max, depending on my usage. Certainly, if you have the always-on display and Wi-Fi turned on and use GPS for outdoor runs on a regular basis, it will drain the battery faster. My average day involves a couple of calls from the watch a ton of notifications.
I tend to keep the Wi-Fi turned off unless I really need it and about 15 to 20-minute outdoor workout, and they do not disturb mode for nighttime. With all this, the Apple Watch Series 6 even with its 304 William hour battery size, barely makes it to a 2-day mark. So if you want a longer battery life, galaxy watch, 3 will be a better option. Apple Watch, your 6 uses a wireless charger, but Apple Watch 36 will not wirelessly charge from a regular QI wireless charger. On the other hand, the galaxy watch 3 also has a wireless charging, and it will charge with any QI wireless chargers, which is another plus point.
I can even charge the watch from the back of my Samsung smartphones. Now, let's talk about some distinctive feature: apple watcher 6 has a camera control feature which is really helpful to remotely control the iPhone's front and rear facing camera, not just that. You can even view a captured picture from the watch. I use this feature very often to take family selfies. This is not available on galaxy watch 3 when paired with an iPhone, but you will instantly get the free built-in camera control app, which works just like the Apple Watch, 06 camera control, when you pair the galaxy watch 3 with any Samsung, smartphone s10 or higher up models.
Apple Watch 36 has background noise level, monitoring app, which measures the background noise level and warns you if you enter a high background noise level environment with a bit of context about what each level number means. This is a very good feature for people who work in a high background noise level, environment, galaxy watch, 3 does not offer this feature at all. Another unique feature is the built-in hand wash timer, which is quite robust and in fact best among any other smartwatch. It works all the time without draining the battery life, and I have tried to trick it multiple times. But somehow this Apple Watch 36 knows when I'm really washing my hands.
Galaxy watch 3 has this feature, but it keeps draining the battery life and gets self activated, even when it hears any background noise similar to running water. So really, I did not like it and I have turned off the auto-detect feature. Sometimes it even starts the timer. While I was running so unless Samsung refines the algorithm to make it close to an Apple Watch, it's a no-go for me apple watcher 6 has a fault, detection alert, which is very robust and helpful for seniors. It even auto sends SOS messages.
If you don't respond back and again, I have tried to trick it multiple times, and it only works on an actual fall galaxy watch.3 has this feature again not available when paired with an iPhone? Now both these watches offers basic features that you will need like alarm, flashlight find my phone stopwatch calendar, to-do list, etc. , but Apple Watch 36 looks more refined to me than the galaxy watch 3 when it's paired with an iPhone. Both these watches offers payment options like Apple Pay, for the Apple Watch, which works like a charm and Samsung pay for the galaxy watch 3, but unfortunately, Samsung pay does not work when paired with an iPhone. It does work great when paired with a Samsung smartphone, and I have done a video for it linked in the Samsung smartwatch playlist. At the end of this video.
Both these smartwatches have an app store where you can download a lot of functional apps, but Apple Watch app store, hands down, has more apps than Samsung Galaxy app store. More importantly, you can download even paid apps directly from the watch. Without needing your iPhone vs on the galaxy watch.3, you can only download free apps when paired with an iPhone to enjoy those premium paid, apps and watch faces. You have to pair the watch 3 with an android or a Samsung smartphone. However, good thing is, you can download available apps directly from the watch without needing your phone? Both these watches offer multiple watch face options, but Apple Watch is limited.
There ain't many watch face options as Apple does not allow third party watch face developers at this point. I hope that they will allow third-party watch face developer down the road, but from all the built-in watch faces. I guess you will find your favorite watch face. You can even have a watch face with a custom background image. I, like the infographic watch, face where I can access a lot of functions from the watch face itself.
On the other hand, the galaxy watch 3 offers a multitude of watch face options you can even download free watch faces directly from the app store from the watch, or you can head on to the galaxy watch app and under the Discover tab on the bottom panel. You'll find a lot of apps and watch faces and, quite frankly, the watch face. Library is good, and I'm sure you'll find a watch face that you like guys, if you made it this far in the video. Thank you so much for sticking around. Please smash that, like button and hit that subscribe button, so you don't miss any upcoming videos come on guys just do it.
It won't cost your time now. Both these watches offer voice. Assistant Apple Watch offers Siri, which is quite robust, and it does talk back. So you can do a lot of function, including smart functions like smart home device control. I use Siri to control my garage, doors, lights, etc.
So you can do a quick web search. It can open apps, set reminders and set timers, do a weather check and, more importantly, it can call or send a text message which I use it quite often so, right off the bat I will prefer. However, galaxy watch 3 offers Bixby, for which I have done a detailed video linked up in the card section which can check it out once you're done watching this one. However, Bixby is not even remotely closed to Siri Bixby can't talk back via the built-in speaker, but only can do bare-bones tasks like to set an alarm check, weather set timer. It cannot really do a quick web search.
It can open apps, it can call a contact, but it cannot send a text message when paired with an iPhone. Furthermore, it can control smart home devices. So, in short, when paired with an iPhone Bixby's function is limited, so I would prefer Siri now. Both these watches can receive a regular Bluetooth. Audio call, however, on the Apple Watch 36, you can even make a call directly from the watch.
You can access contacts and call logs and even use the built-in speaker to talk back directly from the watch. All this is quite robust. It also works for apps, like Viber, etc. On galaxy watch 3, you can also receive a Bluetooth audio call with ability to control the volume it displays name of the contact. You can transfer call back onto your iPhone and end the call you can even get calls from third-party apps like Viber, etc.
Surprisingly, you can even make a call via the number pad or by accessing call logs and contacts when you pair a non-apple smartwatch to an iPhone, you pretty much lose the feature of ability to make calls from the watch to a preferred contact, but that ain't the case with galaxy watch 3. So that's really great. The call quality is almost comparable to the Apple Watch 36. Now both these watches can get notifications, but you can only reply or interact with a notification from an Apple Watch in general. Any smartwatch other than Apple Watch cannot reply or interact with any notification except the Apple Watch.
Again, messages will only work with Apple Watch. So if you are someone who wants the ability to reply to a message and get messages just go with an Apple Watch now in terms of user interface, Apple Watch offers the signature floating menu, which is my favorite, and it's quite fluid, and you can even arrange all the icons to your desired location. You can slide up from the main screen to access, quick settings, slide, left or right to quickly change the watch face and click the physical button under the rotating crown to open the app tray, the rotating crown and the haptics of the Apple Watch 36, my goodness, it's the pinnacle of refinement, words cannot describe it. You need to use it to feel it. On the other hand, the galaxy watch 3 has the classic rotary menu style, which is my favorite but boy.
This mechanical rotating bezel is also one of a kind experience. It's very responsive and quite robust. It gives you that nice satisfying click on every single turn, definitely better than the digital rotating bezel available on the cheaper galaxy watch active 2. Now you can access quick settings by sliding down from the main watch face screen, and you can even customize all these quick settings, which is really helpful and unique, rotate left to access the notifications and rotate right to access the widgets, and again you can customize and add widgets as per your choice, and I really wish Apple Watch can implement the quick settings and the widgets like this galaxy watch. So for me, I really like both these smartwatches for their user interface.
Let me know in the comments down below which one would you prefer now for those whom it matters you can play games on both these watches' apple, watcher 6 has a wide variety of games, both free and paid, and I have given away coupons for a lot of paid and premium apps and watch faces for both of these smartwatches, so make sure you subscribe, as I don't want you to miss out on the upcoming free giveaway. I personally like the games on the Apple Watch. Galaxy watch 3 offers a variety of paid and free games, but when paired with an iPhone you're limited with basic games, only I've done a separate video for my favorite games on galaxy watch 3 when paired with an android phone linked up in the playlist at the end of this video now. Finally, let's talk about health and fitness tracking and wrap this video up with my final save. Both these watches can measure health data like heart rate accurately.
Both these watches can measure ECG readings, but for the galaxy watch 3 it's not yet available in Canada, there are ways to side load ECG, but that ain't an option when paired with an iPhone for Apple Watch. You have to touch the crown button with one hand and the other lead touches the skin of the wrist. Your watch is on and in just 29 seconds, you'll get your ECG reading. At the end, the Apple Watch will ask you to input any symptoms. The reading will be then sent to the app on your iPhone.
You can export the reading to a PDF file format which you can share it with your doctor later on. Here's a reading from Apple Watch Series, 6 versus the pulse bit ex personal EKG, ECG, monitor or tracker, for which I have done a review. Video linked up in the card section so be sure to check it out once you're done watching this one. Obviously the pulse bit ex can use sticky electrode lead, so its graph will be smoother than the Apple Watch 36, but you can see the Apple Watch.36 is just on par. Now, Apple Watch can take a sp02 that is the blood oxygen reading in just 15 seconds, with a nice animation versus galaxy watch.3 has this sensor, but not yet activated in Canada, and you can't even side load it when paired with an iPhone galaxy watch.3 has a blood pressure app again, not yet available in Canada. Galaxy watch 3 can track your sleep with a good insight to your sleep data and gives you a sleep score with start and end time.
Sleep score awake time, rem, sleep, light, sleep and deep sleep time with ability to track your sleep record and the calorie expenditure. While you are sleeping but Apple Watch 36 does not give you a detailed insight to your sleep except the start and end time, despite it having all the sensors. So I really hope Apple Watch adds this feature down the road. Both these watches can auto, detect few workouts and give you a reminder alert to stand up after a period of inactivity, Apple Watch Series 6 offers a breathing exercise session. It's named breath app where you can take one to five minute of breathing sessions to relax.
It also gives you a reminder to take a breathing session periodically. This feature is not yet available in on the galaxy watch.3 at this point, Apple Watch 36 has a ton of workout options. Definitely more than galaxy watch 3. You will find pretty much any workout that you want, and the Apple Watch does great, with workout tracking. It has all the cool features like the active calorie burnt and the total calorie burn, which not a lot of smartwatches offer and Apple Watch is fairly consistent with the reading of the heart rate, calories, distance and GPS Apple Watch also does great with tracking strength, training, workouts galaxy watch 3 also offers a lot of workout options, and it is also very good at tracking the overall workout distance, speed, calorie burn, GPS tracking, etc.
I find that there are more strength. Training moves available on the galaxy watch.3 versus the Apple Watch here is an example of a 30-minute intermittent treadmill run, and you can see from these images that the Apple Watch showed 394 active calories compared to the 230 calories from my treadmill and galaxy watch.3 tracked, 264 calories, so it seems like Apple Watch, is an over shooter and galaxy watch.3 is an under shooter but galaxy watch 3. Despite having more led heart rate, sensors tends to give out on the heart rate measurement, especially with the running type of workouts. Let's take a detail dive on these data on the mobile app. You can see Apple Watch shows the distance of 2.6 kilometer one steps with an average heart rate of 160 beats per minute versus the galaxy watch.3 shows the same distance of 2.68 kilometer, pretty close with steps 3160 and the average heart rate of only 122 beats per minute, but either way both these watches can track GPS data of your outdoor run or walk without needing your phone, and you can track gym bay's movement. So both these watches are good for workout and fitness tracking, but I would prefer Apple Watch.
Let me know your preference in the comments down below so here's. My final verdict, both these smartwatches, are great. If you have an iPhone- and you know that you will stick to your iPhone, then Apple Watch 06 to me feels a good option over the galaxy watch 3 as you would lose a lot of features, as mentioned above. If you go with the galaxy watch, 3 just to save 40 bucks. However, you can go with the galaxy watch active 2 which, at the time of filming this video is only 380 Canadian dollar, which is about 190, Canadian dollar.
Cheaper than series 6 and it has all the same features of galaxy watch 3 as shown above plus the galaxy watch, 3 or active 2. You get option to pair them up with any phone. If you are planning to switch from iPhone to another smartphone. I really like the feature that Apple Watch 36 offers, like the ECG blood oxygen measurement, ability to get and interact with notification. Reply to a message answer calls and make calls directly from the watch: music transfer up to 32 gigs for offline music playback via Bluetooth, earbud, amazing, fitness, tracking Siri, the smartwatch assistant hand, wash timer background, noise level, monitoring, etc.
versus the galaxy watch.3 does not have anything new to offer and lacks the ECG blood pressure and blood oxygen sensor which are not yet activated in Canada for when paired with an iPhone but galaxy watch.3 is not a bad option when paired with an iPhone compared to the other smartwatches, and it's the best option when paired with a Samsung smartphone. So I personally will go with the series 6 for my iPhone. But let me know what are your thoughts in the comments down below and check out more videos of both these smartwatches from the playlist linked at the end of this video? So that's it. I really hope you found this video helpful. If you did, then please give this video a thumbs up.
