Hey guys, what's up, it's Carl here back with another episode, and this is honestly one of my favorite ones every single year, and I know that you've, probably seen all of my Apple Watch Series 6 coverage, including the Apple Watch, SE. So if you want to go watch that go ahead. This, though, is the Nike collaboration. They come out with a special model. Every year it comes with a couple unique watch faces and, of course, the Nike sports band, and many of you also know that I have a very sickly addiction to Nike. Maybe it's their whole orange theme, I'm not too sure what it is.
But this is one of my dream collaborations every year, so, lets of course, get inside take a look at what series 6 Nike edition has to offer and what you get so similar now to the past couple generations of Apple Watch. We of course have the pull tabs on the Nike edition, though you have branding in black that's kind of dope, it's a bit more sporty and just like all other watch products, you've got the two boxes inside. Of course, the one has the watch and the other has the corresponding band. Both of these, I think, because they're Nike once again in black, I, like the sportiness I've gone for the rubber sport band. They do come in different color ways, of course, but this one is the obsidian mist with black there's, also the mango color, which is almost orange, but I wasn't digging the mango slash navy.
Let's, though, get into what's inside this box, that's more important, and you can see here- series 6 in space, gray, aluminum and unfortunately, for whatever reason you can only get the Nike editions in those three colors so, of course, space, gray, the silver and gold. I would have loved to have seen Nike editions in some new aluminum finishes like the blue or product red they're, the exact same material, and they cost the exact same price. So 399 bucks, I'm not too sure why Nike didn't do that. I know a lot of people are eyeing, Siri, six solely for the blue or even product red colorways and inside the box. This is maybe the only area where it's slightly different.
On here it actually says designed for athletes by apple and Nike. Sadly, no California, slash apple, of course, underneath that we've got the proprietary charger and off to the side. This is where the Nike edition sits. So, like I mentioned it's the exact same form, factor 44 mils, or you can grab the smaller 40. And kind of looking around.
You can see the brand-new sensor on the back, that's of course, to track or monitor blood oxygen, and it's the exact same design as all series, 6 and, of course, series 5 and series 4. The design or form factor hasn't changed now in the past two years, and now that we've got the Nike Apple Watch, all set up you'll need to, of course, download iOS 14 to pair that with your iPhone. That's something that I learned the hard way it does take around half an hour to 45 minutes. So just remember that the thing that most of you, I'm assuming are here to see in this video and the reason why I stick to the Nike editions is, of course the exclusive Nike watch faces they're, just so much more vibrant and sporty these new ones look super dope. I always change mine to orange, and I just personally love these watch faces so much more than any of the stock ones.
That apple offers- and I know that's totally personal opinion, and it's not for everyone, but I'm assuming if you're eyeing the Nike edition. That's the reason why you're here, I believe the watch bands used to be unique as well, but I know that you can buy this aftermarket now or even at the Apple Store separately, and I am generally a fan of the perforated rubber. I do prefer rubber bands. For most of my watches, I've got one on my OG normal analog watch right now, and I am someone that wears a watch literally 24 hours a day, so I sleep with it, I shower with it. I have the dirtiest watched hand to prove that I work out with it.
Pretty much every single day and the perforations just make sense. They help with sweat management. The rubber doesn't degrade, unlike the nylon bands, especially if you do bring it into the water a lot or, if you shower with your watch a lot, and you don't have to be ultra careful with it. Unlike say some metal or the Milanese. I think that's what it's called some of the more expensive bands and honestly, the only wish for the Nike editions is if they offered it in a stainless steel option.
It is my personal favorite finish for an Apple Watch. It gives it a nice extra bit of heft. I know it's a bit pricier, but I'm willing to pay that extra premium and all of my sport watches are finished in stainless steel. I wouldn't go the route of titanium. Furthermore, I just think they're too light, and they feel very similar, in my opinion, to the aluminum, but other than that that has been Apple Watch Series 6 Nike edition they are pretty much identical to say: Siri 6, even the SE series 5 series 4.
The only thing different from these Nike editions are those unique watch faces and since it's the same price as series 6, that would be maybe the only option to lean over to that. Like I mentioned at the beginning, I wish it came with some blue, aluminum or even product red. It has all the exact features. So, of course, the new blood oxygen sensor. I've been using mine on Siri six, I've loved it.
So far, I wouldn't say it's a must-have feature, though we've got the brighter always on display, so you can always keep an eye on some of your favorite Nike watch faces and my main assumption. If you're grabbing a Nike Apple Watch, you're going to use it to work out any of the apple watches that we've seen in the past couple years now for working out have pretty much been identical in terms of performance. All of them have the different workout modes as you aim to complete or close your loops for the end of the day, and maybe the only new addition coming to Apple is now fitness plus and that's not limited, of course, to Apple Watch, so you can get that across any device. It's the new service that they're rolling out to help you work out. You can watch a bunch of different clips.
I think there's a free membership for three months. If you do grab an Apple Watch, so there's no harm in trying it out, but I wouldn't say that you need to say an Apple Watch, Nike edition an Apple Watch in general, just to work out that intrinsic motivation has to come from within you. But if this gives you that extra little bump, maybe you're not feeling it one day, it could definitely add some extra value. But if any of you have any fitness related questions, they seem to be some of the most on the channel I'll be down below. In the comments answering everything I can give you guys some workout tips, what I do on a day-to-day basis, and if any of you have any questions hit me up.
