This is the Apple Watch. Sc looks familiar right well because it is. It looks like every other Apple Watch at a glance, but there are some differences that make this watch fit in its SC lineup of products. What is going on? Everybody welcome back mtg here with another episode, if you're new to the channel hi there today, I'm going to dive into the Apple Watch SC two months later, but before I do begin, I'd really appreciate if you give this video a thumbs up and turn on the bell notifications, as it does help out the YouTube algorithm and pushes my content to more people, as we have recently passed, 5 000 subscribers, and so we can get to our next goal of 10 000 subscribers anyway. Let's get this video started remember this is a watch which means we need to touch base on design. Apple has typically gone the route of avoiding the circular watch design.
I have the aluminum casing, and it's held up pretty well. If you're interested in picking up the stainless steel option, you'll have to go after the series 5 or the new series 6. My Apple Watch SC is the Nike edition, but I swapped the band for a Milanese loop anyway. The Apple Watch SE has the same display as the Apple Watch Series 6. It has both 40 millimeter and 44 millimeter options, just like the series 6, with a display resolution of 368 by 448 and in my two months of using the device display.
It's its very good Apple Watch SC includes an OLED display, which equates to more vibrant colors and deeper blacks. There is one thing that the SC does not include in which you can find in the series 5 and 6, and that is the always on display. However, in my opinion, raising to wake is fast enough, and it also saves on battery life, like I'm glad that I don't have the always on display, since we touched base on design. Let's take a look at performance where apple has never disappointed the consumer with their products. The apple watches c is fast.
It might not include the laze s6 chip found in the series 6, but the s5 chip it includes is still buttery smooth. Now the series 3, what series three yeah I'm talking about that because apple still sells it. It includes the s3 chip which has definitely aged. So, if you're on the lookout for series 3, please move on and probably look at the SE as your next option: you'll notice, the difference in speed between series, 3 and SC. Also, the SC stands pretty close to the series 6 in speed coming from Wear OS devices.
I'm super happy with the results, because I've been looking for a fast performing smartwatch for such a long time and the closest one was the Samsung Galaxy watch active 2. That's why Apple is dominating in the smartwatch market, with its Apple Watch, devices apple has included a new feature built with families in mind, called family set up with its latest series 6 and SE. I don't use this by the way. This feature, though, lets you set up an Apple Watch independently for a kid or parent who doesn't have an iPhone and for any phone for that matter. Now.
The caveat here is that if you want all the features on Apple Watch paired with family setup, you would need a cellular model. So do keep that in mind. Otherwise, this family setup feature does come in clutch, especially for parents who want to gift their children with a watch rather than a phone. The watch SC runs. The latest watch OS 7 without any lag.
Yes, that's right, because the series 3 right now it's definitely aged, so it's probably going to run a little laggy, so you'll be getting all the latest features like new watch faces, although some are exclusive to series six and if you go with the Nike edition, like the one I have you're going to get Nike watch faces too. When I say without lag, I really mean it. I mean, like I really mean the SC does not have any lag whatsoever, even so. Watch OS 7 and the Apple Watch. Se works seamlessly with the iPhone, and I'm going to praise apple for its amazing work with its ecosystem, because it's that good apple has perfected.
The hardware and software to work effortlessly together and other companies are really struggling to keep up. You can't pair an Apple Watch with an android device, but you can pair a Wear OS device with an iPhone, but when you do that, you won't be getting all the features with notifications and other features too. When we say Apple Watch, health is one of the main things that come to our mind right yeah, but I just haven't been using the watch for its health features. I mean I've had it for more than two months and I just haven't got into using it for those health features. I definitely should, and I will be in the future.
Obviously, when I first got the watch, I went ahead and tried out everything I had. The SC includes fall detection, noise, monitoring and emergency SOS. I personally think that emergency SOS and fall detection is super useful because I've heard real life stories on how fall detection saved people's lives. How about the new oxygen blood level sensor that is, unfortunately only available on the series six. So if you are on the lookout for a watch with an oximeter, I mean that's what it's called an oxygen blood level sensor.
If you didn't know, what's called oximeter anyway skip the SC, otherwise everything else that makes an Apple Watch. An Apple Watch is present in the Apple Watch. Se, it's important to look at the price when picking up a new product. Now I personally was hoping that the Apple Watch see would start at 199, but Apple went ahead and priced it between the series three and six at 279 for 40, millimeters and 309 for 44 millimeters. Honestly, the pricing, it's not bad, but it's not terrible either.
It's all right. If you're in dire need of a cellular model, it only costs an extra 50 bucks for each model, so 329 for 40, millimeters and 359 for 44 millimeters. Just make sure that before you pick one up, ask yourself: do I carry my phone with me all the time? If, yes, you don't need a cellular model, and this is just how I see it. If you ask yourself, do I need the phone all the time and if you say yes, you know I carry the phone with me all the time, then you don't need. One apple is actually aiming for their Apple Watch SC to perform just like the iPhone SE.
It is especially, in my opinion, the perfect way and cheaper alternative to enter the Apple ecosystem anyway, that about wraps up this video. I hope you guys did enjoy if you're in the market. Looking for a new Apple Watch, then the SC is a good buy 279 for 44 millimeters, like I said earlier and 309 for 44 millimeters, and that's not too shabby it's not the greatest, but it's not too shabby, and if you look good enough, you may even find them on sale once in a while. Just remember this: if you're on a budget, don't consider the series three stay away from it, I don't even know why apple's selling the series- three it's old, it's slow, and it won't be supported. Much longer apple is clearly making sure that they offer their products at all.
Sorts of price ranges to fit any consumer. Like don't go out there and buy a series 3 and say: oh, I found the series 3 freak 100 bucks. It's like a three-year-old device like stay away from it. It's literally at the end of its life cycle. However, Apple Watch SC is the sweet spot, and I'm glad I made this purchase.
