Today, we have great news about the Apple iPhone 13 and that's coming up right after a quick video from today's sponsor, we type on our phones all day every day, but we still leave an immense number of typos in our wake. So after a lot of bad news regarding supply constraints with the iPhone 13, we finally got something good to share.
Last week, apple announced in their earnings call that they were expecting the supply constraints to affect the iPhone 13 and the iPad in the coming quarter, which left everyone wondering how bad it could be when Tim Cook was asked. If the issue was following on to the holiday quarter, he simply replied they're, taking it one quarter at a time. It now looks as if Apple are being very proactive, however, and getting more people on board the supply chain when it comes to apple's products, they've mainly relied on Foxconn, patron and Winston, but they've now brought in a new company on board. According to a new report from Nikkei Asia, Apple have added luxury to the supply chain, and they're, reportedly building the iPhone 13 pro, and they're expected to play a big part in the future and overtake patron by 2023 to be the second largest iPhone assembly factory behind Foxconn. It makes sense to bring them on board.
Considering we've already got news of iPhone 13 mass production underway and apple plans to produce 90 million units, which is even more than last year's. Next up. We've got news that apple has worked on reducing the size of multiple components with the iPhone 13 in order to create more space for the batteries, especially in the smaller models. Battery capacity has always been a bit of a concern, so the more room for battery the better. This update did come from daddy times.
However, they say a lot and not all of it ends up to be true, so take it with a grain of salt. For now, we've also got news that apple are going to offer a new 25 watt fast charger alongside the iPhone 13, which has led people to jump to the conclusion we'll get 25 watt fast charging in the iPhone 13. Now, of course, given that last year's iPhone didn't come with a power brick in the packaging, we can also expect the same this year and the price for this charger should hopefully still be around 19. Now, next, up we've got patterns discovered for in-display face ID meaning. We could finally see the removal of the notches.
Well great news for many: it's still a patent. It certainly won't be in the iPhone 13, and I doubt it will be in next year's either, although with in-display technology progressing, there is still a chance. The folder is going to be launched shortly with a camera under the display. OPPO has just showcased their in-display camera, which resulted in this photo here, and many other companies are doing the same, so it could be that apple has been working on this. In the background, regardless, though, the iPhone 13 is looking impressive, with apple's huge supply chain and priority status with many of its suppliers, we hope that at least the initial launch models are not going to be affected, so hopefully, for those of you out there that do want the iPhone 13 on launch.
