A WORTHY BUDGET BUY? Nokia 5.4 Review By Unbox PH

Hey guys, what's up, it's me all, and I'm back for another video now for today we will be talking about a phone from one of the OG phone brands, which is Nokia. Nokia is well known for its feature: phones that are built to last and well. It seems that they do plan to do the same on their own smartphones, and here we have the Nokia 5.4 and let's take a look at the specs and the key features of this phone and find out if this is a great budget smartphone. That is a worthy pick and, of course, since we are unboxed pH, let's go ahead and do a quick unboxing and find out everything that we need to know about this phone compared to most recent phone boxes. The Nokia 5.4 comes in a square box where you can see the photo of the phone's design, along with some Nokia branding on the front and on the side and on the back you can see the phone specifications. Okay, honestly, I don't know if it's just me, but whenever I see this box design, it does make me feel kind of nostalgic, because, given that Nokia is an OG phone brand well, this does give me a little of a classic look that you don't see in a lot of packaging nowadays going back now on the inside once you slide out the contents.

The first thing you see is the phone, and we got the polar night color variant, but we'll get to that in detail later right. Beside the phone is a small compartment that contains the 10 watt charging, brick, the USB type-c cable and some wired earphones, which I do find convenient, since they rarely give out earphones in the box. Nowadays, on the inside, you get a free, sim, ejector, pin the usual important documentation and a free silicon case, and if you compare the amount of stuff that you get from recent phone brands out there. Well, you do get a lot of freebies here, considering you do get wired earphones and a silicone case for design the Nokia 5.4 is available in two colors. The first one is dusk, which sports a purple color and the one we have is polar knight now under direct sunlight.

You can see the navy, blue and diagonal pattern design of the back, along with its quad camera setup, housed in a circular module, while the fingerprint scanner and the Nokia logo are found right below it. The fingerprint scanner can also be used to drop the notification screen, but I decided to turn off this feature because it can be distracting, especially when I play games on this phone going back. The volume rocker and power button are located on the right side of the phone and on the left. It has a three card slot that can accommodate a micro SD card and two NATO sim cards along with a dedicated Google Assistant button. Now, honestly, this button doesn't really do much aside from what it was made for, but I do wish we could change the functions on this button to something more useful when it comes to using the phone.

But since we can't customize the function of this button, I just decided to turn it off on the top. We have a 3.5 millimeter audio jack, while on the bottom you can find the USB type-c charging port and the speaker grille, considering its price. The Nokia 5.4 has a decent audio quality and nothing too over the top here's an audio sample. You can also find the 16 megapixel punch, hole, selfie camera located on the upper left part of the screen. Overall, this phone is quite slim and handy weighing at 181 grams, and it is 8.7 millimeter thick for display. The Nokia 5.4 has a 6.39 inch, IPS LCD, HD plus display, and sadly it is not full HD. So you do miss out on the finer details whenever you're watching a show on Netflix or any video on YouTube.

One thing to take note of is that the display does come off a bit darker than usual screens, and I find it difficult to see the details on the screen under direct sunlight, even on its higher brightness settings. All I can say is that it is a functional screen that can get the job done, but, aside from the lack of brightness from the display, I really have no complaints when it comes to the visual experience for the specs. The Nokia 5.4 runs on a hello g95 processor, 4, gig of ram and 128 gigs of internal storage. When it comes to the software. One of the good things about this phone is its android one UI, it's simple, and it doesn't come with bloatware.

The device comes in android 10, and it's ready for the android 11 updates, plus it's already written on the box. You are guaranteed two more updates, including a promised android 12. If you still do have this phone by the time it comes out for a budget phone, that's promised two years worth of updates the Nokia 5.4 has pretty decent hardware that should be able to serve you well until the android 12 update rolls out in terms of performance, it can handle regular games like Call of Duty, mobile and wild rift both on medium settings. Overall, my gaming experience on this phone was pretty decent. I mean it did have some occasional stutters and a bit of lag here and there, but it did perform well.

My Gandhi gameplay experience on this was alright a lot of frame drops, but it was still playable. Do take note that this phone doesn't have any dedicated game modes to assist you in game. So keep that in mind also, you guys can check out our benchmark scores over here for the battery the Nokia 5.4 houses, a 4 000 William hour battery and based from our battery log test, the device can last up to 13 hours and 54 minutes. That's only on one charge which isn't so bad. After all, for the cameras, the Nokia 5.4 has a 48 megapixel main camera, a 5 megapixel ultra-wide, a 2 megapixel macro, a 2 megapixel dev camera and a 16 megapixel selfie camera. Overall, the cameras took some pretty decent shots in well-lit environments, plus it also comes with a night scene mode that can enhance and brighten the photos.

As long as you have steady hands, though, the front cam video mode needs a lot more work, since the footage is cropped, and it is quite blurry. Well, let's cap things off with a quick pros and cons. One of the pros of this phone is aside from it being a lightweight phone. This runs on stock android, so it has a clean user interface with no bloatware, and it is guaranteed for future updates. Let's go over the cons now.

This does have a dark display compared to usual screens plus the front camera. Video capture quality is limited and isn't that impressive and lastly, this phone has no fast charging. Honestly, it is quite a tough competition out there for the Nokia 5.4 to stand out in the budget. Smartphone market- hey if you're a big fan of Nokia, and you're into the stock, android setup and the guaranteed two years worth of updates sounds like a great deal and the Nokia 5.4 is definitely a worthy pick.
